holy crap, keep it hidden, keep it safe, one sleeper to rule them all. :blinks: :blinks: :blinks: :blinks: :blinks:
having tried both, top end they are pretty much the same but with fuel inj the low and mid rosponse is far better and more efficient, spend the money on an aftertmarket ecu and enjoy the overall difference, it is very noticable as you wiil find out. :D :D :P :( :( :(
PS. try a new external fuel pressure reg, the ability to adjust the fuel pressure may help with your start ups and idle problems.
yeah it has the water jacket hole and extra stud, I think the $150 gasket set is looking like the only option as I'm sick of making the bloody things, when I get them done I'll photo copy the actual gaskets and send them to anyone else that would like a copy, for something to have as templates if you want. :) :) :bash:
here I have an original 3kb twin carbie gaskety on the bottom and the off the shelf generic brand k series gasket on the top, the port sizes on the intake are alot larger and the exhaust side is only marginly larger but can be taken out, do you think that having them make is the only way or will the extractor one match up.
Can anyone help I looking for a set of 3k big port gaskets, QLD gaskets said they can make me a set for approximately $150, for one set of gaskets, seems a bit rich, but if that's the only way I'll have to. :) :) :bash:  ;) HELP ME
yes, as far as i can see. :abuse: :P :D ;)
I have read all the info and now understand i think, increasing the volume of the cylinder is increasing the amount of air and fuel to be compressed which in turn ups the psi, but the 8cc dish will compensate for the increase which should bring the cr back to around 9.5 or 10:1, does that sound about right.
so in regards to the head and block query, if I used the 8cc 5k pistons and the 3k bp head the compression ratio should be ok as the 3k had flat tops at 10:1, so hopefully I should get around 9.5:1 may be, and a mild camm with the twin sprinter carbies should be ok for todays shit fuel :abuse: :P :D ;)?????????
don't worry figured it out and bit the bullet so to speak, went well and had plenty of spark, so much so that my son wanted to find out how much of a boot it had, only I was the test dummy, didnt see the little prick get in the passenger side and hit the ignition, after picking myself up out of the dirt and completed the sentance of profanities toward the arsehole, I caught him down the back paddock and proceeded to inform and demonstraight to him the dangers of high voltage. only problem now is, as the revs pick up to approximatly 3500 to 4000 it mis-fires as if the spark is jumping between the points inside the dizzy cap, a friend up the road called it phaseing, has anyone else had this problem???? nearlly finished. :hmm: :hmm: ;)
I have 2 xy falcons, 1 yellow ochre gs sedan and the other a ultra white gs ute, I would also like to use the ke20, I was in the Cyclones in Townsville a couple of years ago but moved to tassie, got into the classic ford car club but would rather a club the had a range of different cars, like the cyclones, GMH, Mopar, Chev, Ford, mazda and so on.
Try bunnings, a dremel and some patience, give it a crack you will appreciate it and learn something, there are some good books about and plenty of k series heads about.
