Cheers...I love having a wagon...so so handy. We have done some ummm *cough* Rust repairs....They proved to be a little more difficult than first thought, but I think they have come up quite well. Will post pics soon

Hey Ben, Welcome aboard....post some pics up of your car  I like Gazelle's....what are you doing to your mates one? My mates one is in the process of being boosted at the moment :D

Have you tried flushing and reverse flushing the system yourself? Ensure the heater controls are set to warm if you are going to do this. Even a rebuilt motor, unless worked heavily should be fine with the factory cooling system. I used to run a supercharger on my 4K and 5K's and I ran the factory radiator, I had to run an electric fan as the engine fan wouldn't clear the belt for the SC....And I never had heating problems, even in summer in traffic. I used to have the fan off, until I had to sit in traffic for ages. The other thing you might want to try, is running an after market temp guage, I know that at least a couple of my corollas have had dodgy temo guages, and they weren't actually running hot at all.

Take it down to Pharleys and talk to Steve.

I earnt it by putting up with looking at that pink bits pic you sent me ;) -
5 Grand for 400hp...is that rwhp or flywheel? Put that 308 in a full weight HJ or something similar and it wont run a 12. LJ's are not factory V8 cars, so does that mean I can chuck a V8 in my corolla and run a 12 and claim it's a great time for a standard V8?

Back to work after my 7 nights off  Got a fair bit of work done, not quite as much as I would have hoped.....but still. And here's the pics. First thing I did was stereo install, as I hate driving with no mooosic. Head unit (Man I love this CD player) And also my sexy Focals :D Along with the stereo install came my re-carpeted door trims!! Both front doors are unmolested, and still had the original plastic still on them  I was well and truly sick of the stick on mirror... I also cleaned the crap off the dash  I also put the new door locks and ignition in. I've never put new door locks in a car before, they are such a pleasure to use compared to the old ones...new stuff rocks haha. Due to the engine having a bit of an oil leak, the engine bay was....umm a mess, to say the least, unfortunately I didn't take any before pics. But here's what it looks like after a crap load of degreaser. I also cleaned the shit outta the windows, so now I can actually see ;) And finally, here is my new little buddy watching my back haha

I REALLY hope it's good so it lasts...could be very cool

Anyways guys, Let's start talking dates...Some time after Summernats would probably be a good start, so lets work on mid Jan? That gives everyone enough time to organise cars etc. Will still more than likely be some kind of Friday night thing, more than likely a late afternoon meet up and dinner somewhere then a SLOW cruise into Braddon and watch some cars. We will ensure all cars are stickered up so we get the maximum exposure for the club. I'll see if I can organise Steve with his Sprinter, And Sean with his KE38 Wagon, he should be keen for a cruise. Post thoughts and/or suggestions guys. Cheers Geoff I was in my mates Gemini wagon, with a worked 1.8, so no he didn't haha...but he was certainly moving.

Also Sam, How bout some engine bay pics of your beast
-
I see Sean hiding behind his wagon in one of those pics...I forgot how sexy the green KE25 is too. I love the beetles too. Once again they stuffed too many cars into too small a space though, they look silly all boxed in like that....you can't even take a pic of one car without getting others in it. Silly

HEY!!! I'm normal...oh f@$k hang on....No I'm not...but at least I have fun
-
Good work so far on the car. I'd definately look into a 5K for it...I have had 3 so far in my cars, and about to get another one for wagsy...they are a good engine. Can't wait for pics of it painted
-
Why ask the question if you are going to ignore the answer. It doesn't matter how far or where you are driving, if you have a standard 4K...the standard radiator will keep the car cool. If it doesn't, you have a problem with the cooling system. Putting a larger radiator/getting more thermofans is a bandaid solution, meaning that it covers up the real problem. If you want to make sure your car will be fine for a long trip, then make sure the standard radiator/engine fan are able to keep the engine cool, otherwise you are heading for problems. When you start forcing air down their throats etc...you may need to upgrade cooling system, but wasting time and money stuffing a massive radiator in the front is not going to fix the problem with a standard engine running hot.

What diff is in the car again?

-
Now by girl, you mean old lady with a walking frame right?
-
Be there in a minute haha
-
Didn't piss me off. Just remember, KE3x and KE5x series corollas are mass produced cheap daily cars...they are nothing special.
-
Jesus, remind me to sell all my corollas to you..... overrated condition with rego $1500. Average condition $200. Crap condition FREE-$100 MAX
-
A lady I know just bought a Desoto...I think 54? Or maybe 58 also...I'll see if I can get pics off her

Not putting a spigot bearing in shouldn't make it vibrate, we converted my mates KE35 from auto to manual without one, and it was ok.
-
Welcome aboard!! Great introduction....Nice pics, and I too love the 2 door!! Keep us updated as you do mods...and the more pics the merrier :D

Ok, so some items arrived today. First up we have my new source of music....HUGE thanks to Kangaroosa for picking this up and sending it to me, Thanks mate. This is the same unit I used to own...I still even have the box from the first one haha... And I got these from Repco...YAY no more getting into the car from the passenger side. Tonight is my last night at work for 7 nights, so some real progress should be made with this beast in the next week. Will post up more pics later. Should be ready to pass rego within the next week, new ignition is the main thing, and just need to do some "dodgy brothers" rust repairs on the guards...Can't wait til it is registered and I can put my new 5K in :D
