  1. It sure is noisey, you say the noise goes out as it heats up . Timing chain ,may have a weak tensioner or chain is streched . What else was done to engine? Oil pressure ok?hydralic lifters. Changed or checked pistons rings?compression test. I would take the oil filter off and cut it open to check for metal in the paper. Just some simple stuff to check first. rob
  2. Check with your weber supplier over there they should keep them . If its redline manifold take a straight edge with you and keep digging thru them till you find a straight one . The carb face and manifold face on sum are ,well lets just say not good!!!!!! http://www.weberperformance.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=29_51&products_id=548
  3. Great vid tyre deflection is amazing!!! Did you have some sort of lighting on the camera? Would be great to do the front vid as well . nice work rob
  4. Well there would be a small restriction i guess but unless its a full on performance racer i wouldnt be to concerned . You could spend money fixing it for 0 gain. I wouldnt over think it ,lots of guys spend to much time and money trying to reinvent the wheel. I say drive it ! Rob
  5. Was it SamQ
  6. Yes you are right, Keith but as parts and gear boxs dry up the smart ones will come up with a converstion kit or other wise to replace the old worn out gear. eg the 6 speed 160 box. Eventually though it will come to an end ,and we will all end up driving boring ass electric or hydrogen or what ever other shit they come up with and they will. But for now enjoy what we have ,may be our kids kids will look back and say these old guys where crazy!!!in there old heaps of shit ,i don't no or care. end rant rob :offtopic:
  7. Fu@k being old and deaf it sounds like a scene out of Jurrassic park. Like some fire breathing beast is going to eat your ass.

  10. Gearbox is usually a T50 from a ae71 or ae86.You will have to move the shifter hole back about 17-20mm no tunnel mods for a t50 box. Diff depends on how hard of a time you give it ive heard of stock diffs lasting ,years or weeks. T-series diff out of early celica (ta22)are about the right width,r31 nissan diffs seem popular ,hilux diffs are heavy but unbreakable?. Which ever diff you go with remember that a custom drive shaft will be needed. Peddle box can be converted with a bit of thought.or I think ke converstions do exchange pedal boxs (not 100% on this) The slave cylinder and master cylinder can found on epay ta22 or ae71. rob
  11. I'm using a ae71 in ke55 it is a lot wider than the early ke s but easy fit. Depends on what your using for water out lets ae86 or fwd type some fit better than others. Also have look at Sams website he has some useful parts http://www.sq-engineering.com/. rob
  12. This going to be cool car ,love your work . Keep at it. rob
  13. There is only one ke30 brake booster ,in aussie cars any way.Just been through this bit , ke 70 have the same bolt pattern but are a lot bigger There was talk of a starlet EP91 ??That was a bolt in but never tryed. The 55 had different master cylinder bolt pattern ( off set)to the 30 s. keep at it Rob

  16. Hi stuck on electrics again!!http://www.rollaclub.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/A_Series/Alternator_Wiring_Diagram So looking at this can i connect the sence wire back to the main battery charge wire ? The 12v swich from a ignition source, and the charge light from the original alt wiring (originally bosch alt ). This is correct or not? Also wire guage how big or is bigger better? Medicine man ,GJM or one of wiring guru s. Thanks inadvance Rob
  17. No experience, gee they would be a great thing for the shed .I looked at one years ago but where to pricey. If you get one let us no how it goes. rob
  18. Connecting rod side clearance 0.11-0.21mm. Connecting rod bearing oil clearance 0.024-0.048mm max limit 0.10mm. Have you cut open your oil filter and lay out the internals on the bench to see if there is any metal in it. Your distributor shaft is not moving up or down to far. Just some simple thinks to check. If none of these you need to start measuring as all ready suggested. rob
  19. :y: Nice, general lee only cooler rob

  21. Cut them off and reweld them ,or better still cut them off make some new ones. Hay cart rear ends are fairly simple compared to coil spring rear ends. rob
