I have viewed a few engine conversions that have been done and are in the making but i have seen one that hasnt been mentioned here yet that my mate has done on his ke70,it is a very cheap and fairly straightforward conversion. My mate put 2.6 4g54 sigma engine and 5 speed box (which he scored for free) into his ke70.He fabricated has own engine mounts, moved the gearbox crossmember slightly rearwards, swapped the sigma slip yoke to the corolla tailshaft(sigma and corolla share the same uni joint!!)made a gearbox mount out of an old strut bar bush, exractors were custom made(possibly the dearest part of the job ,standard corolla clutch cable(with a 4kc engine)hooked straight up as clutch fork is on the same side, other than that there was some basic rewiring and run longer fuel lines. If anyone has had anything to do with these engines they are cheap to get, cheap for parts and due to their big capacity, their long stroke they have a bucketload of torque. They are no racer in standard form but the driveability is very good for road use.You can also get some unreal performance out of these engines with minor work-compression,cam,springs,improved carby and manifold,or even injection off a magna engine, also if you look hard enough there are still bits around from factory turbo sigmas-they were a draw through carb set up.My mate has just fitted one of these setups to his and on 8psi running the new engine in already seems like it would blow the doors clean off a new xr8 or hsv...and the car looks like a piece of crap.Be aware that if you look to do this conversion there are narrow and wide 4g54 blocks so you will need the gearbox to suit that block.Anyway just thought id share that with you guys
