  1. I looked up phantom grip. It all seems good in theory, but some things about the website kinda made it feel suss. I get how its supposed to work, but has anyone seen one of these in action. I did a bit of research and you're looking at about 1200 bolt in for a cut down 31 or hilux diff (someone correct me if i'm wrong, i'm just going off what i've seen) running a stock LSD, now even if this thing is 499USD so bout 520AUD plus i image about 80 to 100 in postage, its still a cheaper alternative. Interested.... :hmm: *EDIT: 5 minutes on google. Rubbish.
  2. sweet man, will do. i just can't get it sorted. I bought a rhino central locking kit and alarm, gave up on the alarm and only got as far as the front doors for central locking then gave up aha
  3. you got pics of where they are located in your rear doors? i can't figure it out. Front was a piece of cake
  4. we did this to my rolla after a few beers one day. made it sound awesome haha, no discernible increase in performance, and even tho its secured i'm faaaairly sure its illegal.
  5. hmmmm now what could you possibly use to strip paint...
  6. Cheers ken, she's been a long time coming aye. I'll pop it in that way then (thanks Taz too!) Yeah cam man, my workshop manual is one of the Haynes one and its pretty shit hey. But it provides a useful base for instructions on doing stuff tho. And yeah the last 4k only made it to 240 000 :( then the first piston decided to eat the exhaust valve somehow! :bash: That's a much better idea than how i was gunna do it evan haha. It's a weird looking seal tho. Well cheers guys, i can cross that off the list now. Here's a sneak peak of what the engine is going back into
  7. Hey guys, Alec here. I've pulled my 4k out and i'm rebuilding currently and i can't for the life of me remember which way this seal goes in. I can't remember what its called, my workshop manual is downstairs. But its the seal that goes into the circular mount (don't worry there are pics haha) that slips over the crankshaft on the back of the engine. ok. These are the parts, the circular mount and the seal. Now the seal has two sides, one with a recess and the other side is flat. This is the recessed side Now finally here's my question haha. It goes in this way right? with the recessed side down. I understand that it needs to be oiled and stuff but my workshop manual specifies that the seal has to be pushed in the same depth as the old one was. Now i don't know this? I didn't take a damn photo, will this be highly detrimental to the engine's life or how it will run? Thanks guys EDIT: thought i'd chuck in a pic of the engine so you guys can have a look. I'm going to make a build thread too, but i just need this info post haste
  8. i never said anything about power outputs. just that if you wanna make a 4k scream get a ke70.
  9. buy an ae71 if you wanna put a 4age in it buy a ke70 if you wanna make a 4k scream
  10. are you using the mechanical pump? doesn't that need a fuel return line. :hmm:
  11. i'm glad i got a elec dissy off him before he disappeared then
  12. i live in far north queensland and i got no air con in my 70. It is a bit hot in the summer but i just go by the 460 aircon, 4 windows down 60 km/h  i have air con here but i really don't know what to do to make it work.
  13. This was me, i have pmed Simon about it and i recognise that i kind of f#%ked him around. It's been posted (after continual screw arounds with a certain freighting business i will never use again) and i offer my sincere apologies. I value this forum too much as a source of information and parts to just screw a fellow forum head around and compromise my welcome here. Severe sickness and general inexperience with selling and posting items like this made it alot harder then it needed to be, but excuses are like arseholes, everyones got one. I'd just like to apologise. Once again i'd like to offer my apologies to Simon for screwing him around. It won't happen again mate, i've learnt from my mistakes, i hope the gearbox goes good for you. Alec
  14. there's alot of speculation there ella, i wouldn't believe it unless i'd seen one with my own eyes, but yes they do exist and they are coded as a ca18et.
  15. most of the ones i came across in that quick search that were 1k or over were all rebuilt, forgies etc etc
  16. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=441889 theres one and that was all of 2 mins of searching from my room, imagine what would happen if i put some thought into it! OH NOES! my mates got two up here he can't get rid of. *EDIT: Also, don't bother with a ca18et, they are notoriously shit engines. just save up an extra 600-700 bucks and get an off da hook det.
  17. until the level on the dipstick is in its appropriate level? or did i miss something?
  18. I changed my car from slanty front to flat front and didn't need to change the panel inbetween the windscreen and the bonnet. just sayin'

  21. i just got 20thou oversized for my 4k. should be easy man, i made one phonecall to my parts man and he had them in 4 days. good times.
  22. i do believe no australian delivered cars came out with fender mirrors as a pedestrian safety sort of thing, personally i don't like fender mirrors. I'd go on the door.
  23. haha, the funny made me laugh. I wouldn't bother with a turbo, but thats just me and i don't have much to substantiate my claim with, i guess N/A engines are my thing now.
