  1. Hey mate nice ride. It's quite beneficial for you that you're handy with a spanner, hhaa, too many people come on here saying "i wanna put a sr20 in my car, but i'm not sure how, oh yea i'm 15 and have no mechanical knowledge" haha. They don't last long As the other fellas have said i'd go a 5kc (the 1500cc K motor) or even if you want something a bit more maybe a 7k? or even a 4age (i'm a sucker for a worked K motor tho). Have a look around, there's heaps and heaps of threads about people doing many different engine conversions. . "I'd suggest having a troll through some rides threads there a copious amounts of SR, 4AGE and 5K builds." As bzlbub said, but i'd maybe have a trawl not a troll, haha, don't think you'll get far doing that, haha. Methinks someone needs to rehash some of their internet lingo :P Ps, jokes bzl :laff:
  2. nah, i understand that, thanks man.
  3. hey guys just a question. bit of a noob question and don't mean to hijack, buuut, if the timing cog is one tooth out how do i go about fixing this? I'm not a complete idiot, i rebuilt my motor, but do i just undo the tensioner and literally rotate cog one tooth?
  4. I did the oil pressure upgrade when i rebuilt my motor, but i had a massive cam, oversized pistons blah blah. I did it on the belief that any internal work done to the motor would benefit in a high rate of oil circulation. But my oil pressure sits at like 65psi on idle! is this not good? sorry, don't mean to hijack, i'll have a look through my piccies Millaz and see if i can spot the one i took of the oil pump apart. Should show you exactly what you need to do  EDIT: Hey mate, couldn't find my own pics, but i pulled this from a blog of a fella building a rev happy 4k in KE20, same engine, same principle. blog here BLOGGITY BLOG BLOG shim pic here CLICKY CLICKY To the left of the split pin are two washes, i put one 3mm 6mm ID washer instead of 2 1.5mm. I put it on the inside of the spring retainer (3rd from the right has the wear on it fromm the pin), then bolted it all up together. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, just knocked off work
  5. i bolted a 10inch davies craig up to the inside of the radiator inside the stock shroud, and it does move a ridiculous amount of air. They are a bit loud, but when your engine is running, its nothing
  6. put me down for keenness.
  7. You have to differentiate between hate and opinions. i did come across as narky but oh well. plus if you "HATE" skylines and silvias i wouldn't expect you to get far in serious drifting.
  8. There's a 4g powered keto lurking round the forums here, i imagined alot of ponies would be thieved down along the drive train? That thing is nuts tho, good work to the builder!
  9. yeah i just made brackets for the lights. Fit in perfect. No touchy on the lourve either, she's all sweet so yeah, i still call shenanigans.
  10. That's about it. I still call shenanigans on the louver panel tho, my slanty one worked fine with the front conversion i did.
  11. what type of dog kedave?
  12. wait wait wait... no-ones pointed out what's on the homepage? it may not be a KE30 or a 1j, but its a KE55 and a 2J! haha shit man, anythings possible. you just gotta believe.
  13. "whats worse cause clearly you are biased towards the ke's and thats fine" If you're serious about drifting wouldn't bother with a corolla of any kind really, that's what i meant, thought the smart thing to do would be to start off with a good base for drifting not just make something work. I would've spent the 5 grand on a silvia. But then again man, you can do what you want its all good. Get some vids up of your falcon sliding when its done and prove me wrong, i was just sayin. you're kinda pissing in the wind selling a corolla and buying a falcon for sliding but good luck. :rolls:
  14. i don't have a picture. Its dirty i'll tell you that. The "leverage spots" on the side are still there so i'm guessing it has never been, oh man, brain fart i can't remmeber the word haha! decked? thats not right. haha. um, i'm guessing between 200 000 and 250 000 i'll run down and have a look if its not too cold outside.
  15. i have a head here you can have for postage and 12 bucks (enough to get a beam tally  ) it WILL need a clean up. But came off a runnig engine. you will have to pay postage of course.
  16. It's not the fact that you've sold the Corolla for a Falcon (which is shit tho, but that's an opinionated argument), what i'm saying is you sold your Corolla because you couldn't drift it, then bought a Falcon? I mean, fair dinkum, why didn't you buy a decent car to drift in? Not just a falcon because it has "1. more power, 2. easier to turbo and make more power, 3. better suspension setup, 4. longer wheelbase for less spin outs" You can add all these things together and not necessarily get a good drifting car. That's like me saying, hey man, i'm going to build a sweet house, so i'm going to have all glass walls, but i'm also getting it open planned, but i want it in the city too. All these things are different aspects of a good house, however combined they just make a see through cage for people to watch you showering as they walk down the street. nahmeen?
  17. oh yes please do continue. Would NOT want you to stop whatsoever.
  18. you sold a corolla to buy a falcon to use as a drifter. oh man. continue *subscribe*
  19. don't hold me to it, but i'm pretty sure it won't pass without an engineer certificate for the engine. Purely because they'll check the engine number straight up and find out it's not what it should be when they look at it.
  20. i like the tincan steering wheel, looks cool.
  21. i have either a mirror for the left hand side of your car OR the piece of plastic to go over it if you want mate. just pm me.
  22. hmm... interesting. I have a voltage drain problem that i've tried to prevent by changing the alternator. Apparently the voltage regulators on the back can drain power somehow? i dunno. try anything i say haha. someone should correct me if i'm wrong. but good luck mate!
  23. Here you go mate... CLICK HERE
  24. 3 seconds with google and wikipedia i found out all the cars those engines came out in and info on the 4tgte. so obviously you didn't look too hard.
  25. cheers guys, he has none listed but i've contacted him anyway.
