Toyota May Possibly Reintroduce The K Series
RainWarriorDregs replied to Banjo's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Am i reading this right? -engine eschews turbo charging technology returning to the purity of naturally aspirated induction roar: We're doing carbies -whilst retaining the in block camshaft to additionally pressurize the fuel charge: oh yeah and over head valves again guys. what is this pressurizing the fuel charge? -
Ke70 Suspension Upgrades
RainWarriorDregs replied to Sidewayslife's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Theres a few sets of ae86 coilovers on ae86drivingclub.com. I just bought a set. Although you'll need Corona XT130 lower control arms and AE86 steering arms to make the combo work with your car. And some camber tops for the coilovers. Not sure about using old ones on top of coilovers. But youre looking at aroudnd 1200-1500 for all that. i'd do what altezza said. cheaper and you learn along the way. thats what i did. this isn't my first suspension set up haha, -
oh man this is AWESOME! good work man, i was a little confused when i looked at the exhaust manifold haha, then i realised, ooooh 5 cylinder motor?

My mate uses a loophole that he found. Now i don't believe this but he swears by it. He has a 1969 Cortina mk1. It has a yb engine in it with a pinto efi system running a turbo with a megasquirt. Apparently because one of the later cars came out with the same engine turbo charged then he doesn't need to have it engineered. He also runs escort struts and rack and pinion steering. I've been in the car when hes been pulled over with the laptop on my lap and they were sweet with it. If you want some more info man he's got the clause that outlines the rule and stuff. PM me and i might be able to get some info. Might be helpful with the whole 1.6ltr to 1.6ltr loopwhole.

"rat Rod" Surface Rust. Illegal In Qld?
RainWarriorDregs replied to WillAnton's topic in Automotive Discussion
Yeah i remember something about colour labelling too. It makes your car a two tone with an unidentifiable colour, don't hold it as gospel but might be something you wanna get checked before you do something silly hahah -
does anyone remember that swedish or finnish dude on here with the 2 door ke70 with a 20v? or maybe just a 4age that ran a side pipe through his interior then out behind the rhs front tyre (left hand drive). Look awesomeness, dunno about practicality and functionality and all those improtant things.

Ke70 Tyre Hits Caster-Rod At Full Lock, Help!!!!!
RainWarriorDregs replied to Adrogen's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
I have a question, your AE86 power steering arms fit the bottom of your strut? And these struts are stock KE70 items, sorry just trying to clarify something -
I'm not entirely sure, i only have experience in 4ks in ke70s haha. But i just blocked them all. Ran one for vacuum advance to my distributor. you have 2 vacuum ports on your distributor? weird. I'm guessing that you don't have a emissions sticker on the bottom of the bonnet? do ke10s even have them?

I have the Tighe 104 in my 4k with moderate mods. Its fairly noticable at idle with a decent lump, pretty awful downlow, but you hit about 3500rpm and youre gone, my mates call my car the only NA rolla with turbo lag, it's quite odd. The pickup after 3500rpm really put a smile on my face. I was told by the fella at Tighe (can't remember his name this was years ago) that i would have to change my valve spings as the lift is over 400 thou. I didn't. It seems to be working well but i'm waiting for a spring to snap or something. This might be something to keep in mind for large cam change outs. hope that was helpful haha EDIT: The guys at Tighe were super helpful too, and the shipping was fast. Thought id add that in.
