I just finished my ST 20v into AE95 conversion. Apparently some of the blocks have the cutout some don't. I don't think mine did as it needed to be ground, great fun trying to get the gearbox on. I went for a 20v over the 16 (JustJap had halfcuts going very cheaply on ebay I paid $1250 for mine with 116k kms and evidence that the timing belt was done at 104k) Excuse the dodgey phone pic. I'll let you know how it goes when I pick it up from the exhaust/wheel aligners after work, can't wait :y: :) :y: You need to change the steering rack to ae92 or similar as the ae95s didn't have inbuilt vacumn assist. I think I got that the right way around?

Should be in for this if I'm not snowboarding or working. Unlikely the GTE for my 71 will be together by that stage so I'll bring my newly converted 20v wagon.

N/a 20v Vs 4agte Vs 4agze Supercharged
Instigator replied to Stixy's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
If you're not going to build a motor up from scratch then your best option is to: - 1. Buy late model 4agze 2. Remove SC12 3. Purchase RWD intake or mod FWD one. 3. Install turbo manifold & t28 4. Install motor/piping etc & tune aftermarket ECU 5. ??? 6. Profit -
Yeah I've seen those dash inserts and sorry to say they look chat. As does his pressure pack spray job  No offence to the guy, he gets in and has a go, but I'm a bit older and a hell of a lot fussier about what I do to my car. I work in IT so will be making mine up in Photoshop with fonts and markings to make them look exactly the same as my Speco gauges, probably with my plates down the bottom or some other sort of customisation, then printing them on high quality paper.
-
As said above remove the yellowy plastic around your instruments and replace with clear perspex. Change bulbs in dash if that's what you want ( I run blue in mine). Take your dash out, take the gauge faces off, either do it yourself or get someone to, scan them, change colours, font, background etc in photoshop, print out and voila new gauges.

Just watched the videos... First one - that ain't no 4AG buddy. :D 4A is the block, C/FE/GE/GZE/GTE denotes the head/induction setup. Yours is an FE (fuel economy). Second one - did I hear you say you're going to be running a megasquirt? Is it on the stock ECU currently? Any dyno graphs? I'm still trying to decide but leaning heavily towards running a Megasquirt on my bigport, which will later be replaced by a GZE with T25/28 hanging off it.

Saw it at Blacktown driveins last week. How come noones mentioned the bit where Jeremy Clarkson bags out Corollas? :D

This guy, he knows! Building a motor in your house = legendary :D Awesome car man, any car nut would be hard pressed not to look at it and appreciate the amount of time, effort, and money you've put into it. Shame about not being able to get any E7s over there. RWD + 4age is a lot of fun. What made you choose to build up a 4afe over a 4age/ze?
-
Pending something major being on I'd be in for this.
-
No on both counts. Of course anything is possible with enough money and effort. You're wasting your time though, what gearbox are you going to run behind it? FWD Mitsu engine into a RWD Toyota? Just get a 4k or 4age don't even bother.

What's this ae95r business? Isn't it just an ae95?

I lived there from 94 - 97 Patpong in Thailand for the ping pong shows:lol: Would recommend Pattaya in the South we used to weekend there. Phuket is ok but pretty touristy. Chiang Mai is definately a great place to visit, though once you've seen one temple you tend to have seen them all. Can pick up some cheap stuff in the Jade factories Tea Gardens in Bangkok are good for a touristy day trip to see elephants, kickboxing/sword fighting demos and cultural type stuff.
