  1. If you still have the blue one I'm chasing a set of bars & brackets. From that plate I'm guessing you're in Tassie though? Probably not worth the postage... :sob:
  2. Gunmetal or flat black :sob:
  3. No worries dude I understand completely after today, 12 hour night shift last night after pulling the motor all afternoon, got dicked around by a retard at the spares place and had to go back at 8am this morning and half the part numbers he'd given me were wrong. Then spent the whole day helping my mate who does my tatts stencil a driveway and back at work now for another 12 hour :sob: The day was brightened by seeing the mintyest overrated KE70 I have ever seen in the flesh. The lady is definately 80+ years old and the car looked like it had just rolled out of the showroom. White with the double black stripes. It's in my suburb so I am going to try and find it and buy it, probably gonna be hard as it looked like it was garaged.
  4. SXs were all twin cam yeah? Mine had a 4ac in it so that's probably why...
  5. How much does an unregoed permit cost in Vic? I looked at doing it once and it was $226, worked out being cheaper and easier to get it towed.
  6. I hope that's a typo and you mean wouldn't because it's not a smart move. On another forum a well respected member said: Found the pics, the top left of the mount was ground down to clear and the bottom of the cam cover notched. I also modified the throttle cable bracket so I could use the AE95 cable. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the AE92 is the same in the front end...
  7. To me it indicates that you think it's funny that people's necks are straining. Relax mate I was only trying to help ffs hence the emoticon, to display the emotion that is lost in written form. I never said shit about your writing style, it's a nice change from the usual oMg BrAh mEh HeKtoSs Sp0ntaH w@s f0olLy dr1ftiNg. I have been watching your thread from the beginning and it's good to see someone going to the amount of effort you are. Which 16v do you need pics of? I pulled my Bigport out today for a rebuild so can jump in the bay and take some pics tomorrow if you want, pretty sure it's MAP sensored. Blood Orange first choice, Toxic second. $3500 is a lot for paint but if you got it why not. PS If you can be bothered dropping your pics to 800x600 or even 640x480 you'll have a lot faster uploads. PPS If you're using a MAC then I HA right back atcha :y: if you're running Linux or another open source O/S then
  8. Second, nice one  Btw I still own the domain www.radrollaz.com Send me some stuff already and I'll get a site up, been almost a year now and I haven't done anything with it
  9. Do you know what you're doing with wiring that's the question? The mechanical side of things is piss easy. I just finished a S/T 20v -> AE95 conversion which is practically the same as an AE92 but with a 4WD gearbox. Hardest part was grinding the block to clear the gearbox and the wiring. I think I have a pic on my laptop of the engine mount that needed to be modded I'll try and dig it up. I used the drivers side mount of the 4afe motor and there was a knob sort of bit that had to be ground off where an extra bolt that's not needed with the 20v was. Bottom cam gear cover needs to be modded too, I just left mine off.
  10. I probably wouldn't bother with an unassembled Supra diff. You have no idea of the condition of it or if any bits are missing so it's worth nothing really. Depends what you can find a box for second hand, usually around $400 or so I think? The bellhousing can be sourced from a few different places. AE86DC forum has vendors that sell them. I can't remember which is the preffered brand to get. R31 diff is two wide so if you run 0 or - offset rims you'll be poking tyre out the sides which is a quick way to get noticed by the boys in blue. You can get them shortened but there's more $$$ Throw the stock wheels in the bin ASAP. How can you say you want to modify a car to this level and keep stock rims? They'll hear your motor before they'll see your rims. If you want to avoid attention make your car look as neat as possible and not derro spec like a lot of them. I've been pulled over once in mine in almost a year and that was because I was sideways round two corners in the wet and an undercover saw me.
  11. Spewing I had to work. I will endeavour to get a new motor and some suspension bits into my 71 before the next one.
  12. Twincharging is a good idea in theory but rarely works in practise. Will be alot of headaches and $$$ to get the same result as a decent turbo setup but good luck to you. Definately not the way to go if you're after cheap. W* series Supra box for anything above 150rwkw. F series tarago, Hilux, or R31 Skyline diff. Hilux would be the strongest and heaviest but you are somewhat limited in ratios/lsds. Skyline not as strong but more options in that regard.
  13. Still working at this stage but trying my damndest to get out of it ;)
  14. There's also this handy function built into Windows Picture & Fax Viewer with an arrow pointing left or right for you to rotate your own pictures. Poster should make his thread more viewer friendly ;)
  15. I think I love you ;) Name: Steve Cars: 4AGE AE71 & 20V AE95 Motor & Driveline: Bigport 4age, intake, extractors, exhaust. Made 53.6kw atw with AFRs all over the shop. Swapped out fuel pump made them a bit nicer but never fixed it properly. Used a fair bit of oil and my own fault for not checking it after the last Toymods cruise as the next time I went to drive her she had a nice bottom end knock. ;) Suspension & Brakes: Makita Superlows. Wheels & Tyres: WEDS 15x6.5 +20 picked up cheep and hand restored by moi. Interior: 02 WRX seats, TechnoToyTuning short shifter, BB deepdish steerer, TRD ball knob. Body: Standard. Other: Just finished a 20V conversion on my daily so she's been neglected for a while. Trying to work out what I'm doing motor wise at the moment, might have to wait until after the snow season... Plans: Either replace bigport with another stock one or rebuild a 7 rib with GZE pistons, I have a T25 already to start off with. Megasquirt ECU XT130 LCAs, Rona/pug/hilux front coilovers with Cusco camber tops. Upgraded rear susp, equal length 4 link. 4 point rear + under fender braces, half or full cage. Lock diff for the moment, when something breaks Hilux. I've also got a set of chrome bars that should be very similar to the JDM slant ones if I ever get around to finishing them. Want to get into doing small events like khana/autocross, maybe hill climbs or a bit of drifting. Dyno: - Interior: - When I got her :? Wheels before/after
  16. I would imagine that the tvis will be useless with quads as it's purpose is to increase intake air speed which is the whole reason they put quads on the 20vs.
  17. Kudos on doing all the work yourself but I have to ask: Why are you building what is going to be essentially a Silver/Blacktop motor without the extra valves? Admittedly it will be fresh etc but you also talked of building a turbo motor once you're off your Ps. Seems like alot of money for a mild 4age that will be replaced later with a boosted one. And your 170hp figure = 126kw so a 118kw at the fly silvertop with ecu, trumpets and a zorst should see you in the same ballpark. I just put a Silvertop in my ae95. Cost me $1250 for the halfcut with 116k kms on it.
  18. If you're going to the trouble of pulling the motor out of a perfectly good car then my 2 cents is sell said car and use the money to buy a 4age. You're going to have to stuff around with fuel system etc either way so might as well go for the better motor, they can be had for a few hundred bucks. There's a complete ae82 with a bigport in it on here or 86dc for $600 and it's been up for a while so you might even be able to get it cheaper.
  19. Thanks guys. Got it fixed and back on the road yesterday  Was some wires to the alternator that weren't wired up properly. Also got the reverse lights working and thermos switching off with the keys (still come on and stay on with ignition though). No biggies at least I'm moving again, will sort the thermos out when I get 20v and AE95 workshop manuals and do the aircon wiring.
  20. Not a bad price at all I would happily pay that. Might ahve to start looking for another set :D Last time I tried it was going to be somethign ridiculous like $1000 - 1200 landed so I didn't do it.
  21. Damn son another set of hot meshies? What are you doing with your old SSRs? :D Also wouldn't mind knowing what you paid if you don't mind sharing (pm?). I've emailed Jesse a few times now for sets I've seen and then watched the price climb and pulled out :fuzz:
  22. Try searching for Toyota Owners Club Pretty extensive site for the fwd and camry owners
  23. Great to see the updated pics Mick, good standard for the rest of us to aspire to :D Still got that website address if you wanna sort something out with the site. When's the next cruise on? My 71 has a nasty bottom end knock so I'll be building a gze bottom end for it soon, also just about finished a 20v conversion on my ae95 :fuzz:
  24. Posted in General by mistake, mods if you see this can you please remove? Didn't see the electrical section to start with. Hi guys, Just recently finished the 20v conversion in my AE95 and having some problems. Not being very experienced with this sort of thing I had friends helping me and when it came time to grind the block the alternator was still connected to the motor and got covered in metal filings. I blew it out with the compressor as best I could. The car is together and was running but I have no battery light on the dash. I'm pretty confident the wires were hooked up properly. I took it for a test drive last night and got about 5 minutes down the road before the headlights and dash lights all went really dim and the car cut out and wouldn't start again. Does this sound as if it is definately the alternator that's bunk? Can I get a brand new one from Toyota for a S/T 20v from an AE101? Can the current one be repaired? I have a workshop manual showing how to dissassemble it. If not where could I get one new or second hand? Preferably in the next few days... Thanks.
