My current setup required no welding, the only parts that required work were the: - Caliper mount from an RA23 was fitted to my KE25 strut (some measurements and a drill press is all that's required) - a spigot ring had to be made to make the disc hub-centric (a machined steel ring) - the disc had 3mm machined off its diameter. The new setup I am making at the moment requires no fabrication and appear to be a bolt on fitment for KE30 -> KE55.

No worries Geoff, if the garage is open stick your head in and have a chat. I think you might be interested in the brake setup I'm building for the KE36, it would be a bolt in for your car too :P It all looks good so far but I won't make any claims until it's on the car and tested. :P

I thought it was odd too, my KE20 had discs on the front and it was a 1973 model (same as my KE25). With the drums all round she never did stop too well :P Toyota does some strange things at times though :P
-
Lindsay, mine is a pretty basic (but adequate) setup, on the front I run KE55 hubs with peugeot vented rotors and AW11 MR2 calipers. The rear is using commodore drums (couldn't go for a disc setup with my current wheel offset unfortunately). This is good enough for full sessions on the track at Wakefield with no brake fade and ok lap times. I am building a front brake setup at the moment for a KE36 and if it works out as well as it's looking I will probably do the same on mine :P

My stock as a rock KE25 came with drums on all corners, so i think it's safe to assume the KE20 and 25 could have either. It's easy to do a basic brake upgrade on them anyway and a good brake upgrade with a little bit more work if you need it!

Hahah Nice work :D So now if I hear a loud car coming down the street it'll be the coupe, if I hear scraping or see sparks at night it'll be the 4 door :) That 4 door looks pretty overrated. Hope you've got tough kidneys :hmm:

Hi Would have liked to take my car to the Marques in the Park event but I am in Perth that weekend so it's not possible unfortunately. If anyone goes be sure to take some pics as I have never been to this event before and would be keen to see what sort of turnout it gets. Cheers.

:) Watched the vid of the two runs, bloody awesome ;) Well done, I love the sleeper look.

ROLLN'03 here is my brothers old wagon (previously my wagon when it was stock looking and powered by a 2TG), it's now painted etc and runs a 4AGTE, best time at WSID so far: 12.7 second over the quarter. The wagon is now owned by a mate of ours, I have a soft spot for a neat old wagon :jamie: Pic is from Summernats 2005

That's Phil's van, a Canberra car  Will be on the road and tuned in the next few weeks, in it's revised form. The 4AGTE is a common little engine here in the Capital :jamie:

Hi guys, not sure if this is the appropriate spot to post this or not, but a cruise has been organised and I thought I would just let people on here know about it. Sunday July 10, 10:30am at Hombush Bay. Meet at this point, drive through Galston Gorge to Old Pacific Highway, stop somewhere for lunch/chat/whatever, head home. Go to the following link for details: http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?rid...unt=60&logoff=1 I am not organising it, just attending. Even though it is listed as a KE cruise it is also noted in the thread that all corollas are welcome. If this is not appropriate to post here please feel free to delete it. Cheers. NB, I will be driving up from Canberra in my KE25 for this one.

Hi guys, My name is Shane. I own a Ke25, I have always been a big fan of the old RWD corollas. I don't get to drive the rolla as much as I would like but thats the way it goes......... Next time I take it for a dive will probably be for the KE corolla cruise in Sydney on 10 July, don't think it is anything big, just going for a bit of a look. Then later in the month off to Wakefield for a trackday fun fun fun. Cheers.

I own my rolla because I love the shape, the drive and the handling. It's something a little different out on the road too. The only time I think about owning something else is when I am struggling with getting custom parts made and spending lots of time chasing them down and knowing that ownership of something else would make life so much simpler. But when the job is done its all worth it and you never think about letting the rolla go. I don't have my KE25 because it's cheap, I could own any number of other cars if I chose too, but they just don't appeal to me in the same way. My previous rolla was a KE38 wagon, owned it for 5 years, it had a 2TG fitted and was a great car. I have no plans to let go of my KE25, only plans to make it better :)

It's all good ROLLN'03, its easy to misinterpret stuff online, I am a shokcer for it :P

This might be something like you are looking for??? http://myclassictoyota.com/ Edit: link doesn't seem to work anymore??? I will try to find it. It's not dedicated to corollas but does have pages of pics of them from over the globe

It was just meant to be some info, but it appears it was not welcome? Power is only one ingredient in making a nice car, often not the most important either. I wouldn't be here either if I was chasing masive power, I would at home working towards it :D Thats the reason I have my rolla, for fun, it's not good for much else! A passion for rollas, I have owned and modified a few :P
-
Hi guys, I'm new on here and a big fan of the rolla. Edited due to misinterpretation. To get that sort of power from the naturally aspirated rotors requires porting, not just exhausts and carbies. If you can pull 250hp from a 13B without touching the motor and only playing with carbs and exhaust there would be some rotary tuning shops very interested in your secret :P Rotars and corollas go well together, apart from some transmission tunnel work they are not much harder than any other engine conversion that steers away from the k-engines or a-engines. I like my piston engines but am a big fan of the rotar too.
