Quick update on the car, the font has been lowered.. The rust in the guard has been cut out along with the rust in the boot lid and a bit in the rear end.

Yeah this is KJ's Old rolla! the paint job was a bit shot so i thought id clean it up! Well i was amazed that this corolla didnt have a much rust as i thought! my other corolla how ever has a lot! But nothing like a bit of fiberglass and body filler wont fix! when rubbing it down its not too bad, just rub off a coat of paint and respray, however this ke30 i got the paint was cracked, and i had to strip the paint to bare metal in some places... My arms are feeling it at the moment from all the rubbing down, but should look killer once all painted and ready for cruzin! :D

Hey all just another quick update. the rubbing down of the doors and guards is done. and placed some filler in them today, ready for sanding tomorrow. and a rust hole to be cut out too..

Haha i thought about it hey! but the ke30 doesn't have that sporty look like the ke55 coupe... The ke30 i might do some mods down the track? ive got the lumpy cam from the turbo to put in this one! as there both 5k motors! :hmm:

Yeah its gone to a good home! :) can't wait till i have finished painting it, should be ready for painting next weekend Might have to have a look at UPI for something...

Well i have done some sanding today and my god its hard work... The back end of the car is almost done sanding but still needs a bit of bogging The roof still needs a bit of work because of all the putty spray cracks. The doors have been dent knocked and straightened and sanded ready for painting! The front guards need a bit more bogging and sanding. Also still after a Ke30 bonnet? if anyone has one? haha :hmm: Will keep posting as the process goes on... :P

Yeah i love the 2 doors as as for the paint work i hope to see a good job to :P

Today my dad and myself have done a bit of work to the car already. Its stripped and ready for the rust to be removed and some dents in the body work to be fixed up. Here are some pictures.

Hey all, i now have a ke30 2 door corolla. My turbo Ke55 is on hold for the moment :P Here are some pics of the car when i picked it up. As you can see it needs a little bit of work! This car has a 5k motor and a 5 speed gearbox. the body is fairly straight apart from a few dents around the place. and there is minimal rust.. compared to my other corolla! I am going to spray the car acrylic white to give it a mirror finish. also some future plans are white wall tires a rear venetian blind and probably lowered a little bit. other then that ill probably keep it stock standard as i have my quick little red rocket as my other car. I am also looking for a few parts too, i have the bonnet with bonnet pins, i want to get a new bonnet to make it look stock. if anyone has a ke30 bonnet thats straight give me a holla! Well that colour has been done on my type of car too!! i didnt realize that it has been done already. Maybe should think of a diff colour, or maybe still go with that TANGO colour...

Well, i would like chrome bumpers, there semi chrome, they got the black plastic capping on the ends.. I was thinking that XR8 orange, and having the rims black, front and rear bumpers chrome And have the tail light surrounds black and tail lights a light tint of black and the air vents in the boot black too... but then again having all them chrome would look killer too!! Yeah man! no worries.. i mean this wont happen overnight but it will happen!

Well after the GREAT victor cruse about 50meters from my house! (no lie) the gearbox went BANG!! big time! Haha it jammed all the gears up i couldn't start the car with the clutch out even in neutral. oh well went to U PULL IT and got another one for $75 But now its off the road. The smoke that you see is the turbo seals have gone! oil is pushing through the seals.. hence the smoke! Pulled about a liter of oil out of the intercooler! :P so yeah turbo rebuild here i come! will post every bit of stuff i do with the car to help out people who are looking at doing the same! Hello all, after having the corolla running for a few months its time to make the car look good! First of all ill be stripping it and then removing the rust patches out of the vehicle and then giving her a nice paint job! Not decided on what paint colour to give her but i am thinking of the XR8 Deepish Orange colour once the rust is removed and panel work is done then its onto the engine to rebuild the turbo!(Unless a WRX turbo comes in cheaper) Replace the camshaft with a standard one so the car can be tuned properly. Try and get a stronger gearbox and diff... Lower the front of the car and put some new shockies in there so the car doesnt bounce everywhere. once up and running again, Respray the car to a colour which would look good. Get the car tuned and running sweet! The future plans would be to put some small rims maybe some 15's or 16's nothing to overkill... i want the car to look good without it being a cop magnet If i could get input on what colour by all means have your say! ill be interested in seeing what car colours are out there! WHAT? i still can't hear out of my right ear! :no2: i would check your muffler after that one big flame popped out! also the microtech book didnt say anything about the red flashing light too much just said i need to go to the ERR page on the laptop! which i don't have any of the programing, but it also says it maybe a sensor fail.. but i don't think ill be on the road for quite some time now due to my gearbox or something went bang! the car wont even move! can't start it because something grinds really bad! but i'm just hoping its the gearbox.. -Gerard

Well All in all it was a really good cruise! Thank you for making organizing it and planing it quite well! It was a good route on the way up, hope there will be more fun cruises in the future. Also blew the gearbox AGAIN! turning a corner just before home! will need to find something stronger if anyone has one that is. Thanks, -Gerard

I smashed my standard gearbox in my corolla blew second gear and done major cog damage to the other gears. so i take it easy until i upgrade. but i am running about 88rwkw with the turbo on the 5k.. -Gerard

I had same problem with the ticking 5k, i found out there was a hair line crack on the manifold once welded the ticking noise stopped, so it could be your problem, or it might not be, hope it may help to find out the problem! -Gerard
