  1. i didnt lol. oh well. I'm sure having a weber will be heaps better than that crappy carby lol
  2. Pretty sure i just bought it :D. ive been plagued with a crappy carby in my ke70, tried a number of things to make it better. cleaned the carby, electronic fuel pump, got a carby kit put in new gaskets, replaced idler pump. still crap to drive and stalled on idle. Was just considering and possibly may in the near future upgrade to a Beams 3SGE engine :) but for now I'm going to stick with a carby setup..... Ive now got myself a weber carby (doesnt say what sort but looks to be a 32 /32/34/36? came off another toyota but has a k motor adaptor plate, by the look its had the choke removed(ive also got 2 1/4" exhaust and a set of pacemaker extractors), i'll chuck the carby on hook it up and if its still playing up get it checked out by a carby specialist. Heres a pic of the carby setup
  3. Yeh mate thats who I'm looking at taking it too, thanks for that(just around the corner from my work). Bit of an update. I put an electric fuel pump(inline 1-4psi for carbies) and it runs alot better. Still coughs some times. so still needs to be tuned. but i can nail it around a corner and it doesnt want to die (as much lol) now.
  4. Yeh i think I'm going to rebuild the carby with the kit myself. get it going so its driveable then take it to someone. i don't want to have to wait months to get it fixed :bash:
  5. hahaha i noticed that when i rang there and then when i went down there lol. drives a mini so what do you expect lol thornbury guy sounds good. not too far away from me in tullamarine either...
  6. Just went and got a carby kit for it. The plungers leather btw. went to the local carby shop and hes shut until the 30th. so looks like we might just rebuild it ourselves and go from there..
  7. Thanks guys. was looking at getting a cary kit for it. from MLP Carbies in Reservoir and then getting it rebuilt. Local Carby shop isnt open until the end of this month :( http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230525204861&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en Cars using abit too much fuel as well (so I'm guessing rich) 175km to half a tank.
  8. Hi Guys. My carby was filthy so we pulled it apart and cleaned it. now the secondaries actually spray fuel. but I'm still having issues with it not idling or idling too high. was wondering if theres any specialists out there that knows to to set up these 4k carbies? or just any carbie joint will do? It also hesitates when you go to take off as well (pulls nicely till the redline but idle and take off are crap(or if you mash your foot it just splutters). cheers neil
  9. Damn so wanted to enter the 180/ke into this this year. shame its on the same weekend as Winton Drift Fest (2 day event).
  10. Did some work to the rolla - Painted all brakes alluminium silver - Painted all centers of wheels the same gold - Test fitted Topstage front lip
  11. lol will be interesting when i get a wheel alignment and find out how much camber ive got. :lolcry:
  12. Purchased a pair of Colins Mesh 14x7.5" -12 for the rears.Plans are to repaint centers gold to match fronts, Should have these and my madhouse lip this week.
  13. My background is mostly nissan/datsun orientated but finally i desided to get something better...So i convinced a mate to sell me his KE70 (which he paid $100 for). Once i got the car me and my brother got stuck into it modding it.. - Welded the Diff - Modified the corona LCA's (lengthened 43mm) - Modified the Steering Arms (lengthened 40mm) - Modified the corona Knuckles :y: - Modified a universal seat rail to fit my Bride Zeta - Modified the airbox so it was an open filter - Modified the vacuum lines so the bare minimal were used - Put a set of Pacemaker extractors on - Put a 2 1/4" exhaust on - Modify a strut brace to fit the KE70 (was supposed to be for a cefiro but it wouldnt even fit one of those so it was cut up and made to fit the KE.) - Fitted a stereo system Other mods the car had - Welded in rear strut brace - Dildo 300mm gear knob - OMP Dished wheel - Corona front end (struts, brakes, lca's) - Fender mirrors I then enjoyed driving this car for 6 months, one wet afternoon while thrashing it no1 cylinder desided to let go :( 2 days later id purchased another KE70, this one was in alot better condition (except for it needing a new rear qtr) So first thing i did was clean the crap out of it and remove the million leaves that were in all the cracks. We then replaced the rear qtr and ive fixed all the wiring issues (stripped my old ke and swapped looms and all plugs across) I then stripped the extractors, exhaust, front lower control arms, knuckles, steering arms, suspension and swapped it over, we put in some Peugot rear struts and AU ford rear springs (fronts are corona struts, brakes, lca's). This time i wrapped the extractors in heat wrap to try and seperate alittle heat from the intake (as it sits on the extractors. Purchased some new fender mirrors and some Work 14x6.5 +20? wheels fitted some 165/65/14's to them and had my brother modify the guards to fit them. So next the car is getting resprayed in White with Gold pin stripes, Rear wheels are soon to be purchased (Ford/ROH 12 Slotter Polished rims 14x8), an AJPS "Madhouse" chip spoiler has been paid for and is on order atm. I made sure with this one the compression was a nice even 170 across all 4. Car is run on BP ultimate 98 with 15 degrees timing. This ones a keeper. the old shell may (or this one even) be getting a CA18DET engine swap in the future (ive got a spare engine).
  14. all fixed. the black plug that plugs to the terminal had a broken wire on it. swapped the one from the good car in and presto all good. :) now to put the dash back together again lol.
  15. Hi Guys. Got myself a new KE70 (old ones engine blew), now the new one has some issues - car wont start when you turn the key - no interior lights - no wipers - no indicators it does have - headlights work - hazard lights work What ive done to try and rectify the problem (I'm using parts out of my working ke70) - replaced engine bay loom - replaced coil - replaced indicator/wiper stalk - replaced key barrel (end bit) - replaced fuse box under the dash - replaced junction/fuse box on drivers side behind speaker kick panel - replaced junction box on passenger side behind spearker panel still hasnt fixed the problem any ideas on what else i should check? cheers neil
  16. I got the front bar(with indicators), + exhaust system including extractors for $150
  17. Thanks guys. got the front bar. also scored full exhaust and extractors :o car goes even better now (even adjusted the tappets)car runs smooth as.
  18. Thanks "the overrated ke70" front bumpers now sorted :glare: went down today and had a talk to the guy gave me a good price on what i was after, also getting some other bits I'm in need of while I'm there ;) ke70 slides nicely in the wet with the locker :jamie:
  19. Yeh got the responce. yehhhh had one a few weeks back but we mostly just ship them overseas to south africa...
  20. Just thought id let everyone know. backed off the timing to 10 degrees and modified the stock airbox (so it just covers top and bottom of the filter) + removed most of the vacuum lines (leaving only the dizzy + carby). Car now revs out smoother and is much nicer to drive. car however stalls more (got to adjust the mixture/idle screw) makes nice popping noises down shifting now :D
  21. lol ryco book doesnt list it. should have checked the website. thanks for that.
  22. Hi Guys Went to get a ryco replacment filter and they don't list a part number for the ke70. Anyone know what model fits Z###? cheers neil
  23. mines far from overrated, made of bog, rust and abit of ke70 lol. going to give the car a fresh paint job in a week or so(grind the shit out of it and clean it up somewhat)
  24. Cool thanks guys i'll head up there when i get a chance. hopefully during the week or on saturday. is it a pick a part style wreckers?
