  1. Think my suspicions were correct, Got it hot and took it for a drive and no breaking down anymore.. has 20km on the clock now...
  2. All relays or coils have a diode or resistor to stop back EMF..
  3. No problem, Also note that the body of the thermo switch has to be common with frame/ground.. Should be able to find that relay in your donor AE82 relay box..
  4. Here is the wiring diagram for Toyota Thermo Fan Relay and Thermo Switch to power Thermo Fan.. The idea is if the Switch is Faulty or disconnected, Or the Relay faults the fan(s) will come on.. (Rough, But you should get the idea)... Also attached a diagram of the Toyota Thermo Fan Relay
  5. I have an idea as to what is causing it and I will slap Teddy hard it my idea is correct... Does relate to fueling..
  6. The temp switch for the thermo fan is circled in red, Write up on how to wire it up coming..
  7. I'll give you a diagram to wire those thermo fans up when i get home tonight..
  8. Why don't you just use the thermo switch out of an AE82/AE92 external thermostat housing? much easier to work with and works ten times better than anything aftermarket.. Those 2 on the back of the 4AGE control the engine temp for the ECU and the cold start injector... (work on resistance) Would be easier to use a switch to switch a relay..
  9. Looking excellent, Seem to be getting a fair bit done on this lately..
  10. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...=17449&st=0 http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/saf...n/vsb_ncop.aspx http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/pdfs/person..._bulletin_3.pdf all found using the search string "Engineering" using the rollaclub search (And some are even directly SA related!), Please try harder in future..
  11. He is talking about an Aus KE70/AE71. We didn't get many hardtop/liftbacks here.. (Any here would have been privately imported I think)..
  12. Well it is charging the battery then, So if you keep having dramas either there is a battery drain or the battery is bad..
  13. Love that rust spot in the roof, Couldn't be more typical ke70 rust :S Mine has bubbled back up in that exact same spot (Not bad considering it is the only rust spot in the car and it was repaired over 8 years ago)..
  14. It is usually just a 2 pin plug that reaches down towards the gearbox...
  15. You can charge it in the car, Just take the caps off the cells to let it vent. Just don't go connecting the charger after you turn it on at the power point. Connect the terminals first then power the charger up. Reverse the process for removing the charger, Turn it off at the power point then remove the terminals. I can also suggest that you blow across the top of the battery before you remove the charger terminals to blow any gases away.
  16. Yup, they are the same.
  17. Pretty sure it should have reverse lights, There should be 2 wires go down to the switch, One should have ignition switched power and the other should be the feed for the reverse lights when the contacts are bridged in the switch. (can test by bridging the pins with a piece of wire and the lights should come on).
  18. Where is the rest of the car? :S
  19. Could have a battery drain, Battery could just be old, Could be many things. You will get a voltage drop when you go to crank the car, Hence the dash lights going out. (Battery only has a surface charge that gets wiped out when you draw excess current to try crank the motor over). Charge the battery, Get the car running and then see if the car is charging to battery by using a multimeter. If you can get a hydrometer check the acidity of the battery is consistant across all cells..
  20. very very nice :S
  21. I wouldn't say it is the best carb, Probably one of the more common and easier to install.. Depends what you wish to achieve by changing carbs..
  22. You are forgetting the most important part, The oil pickup and the sump.. Modification needed there too. Also you may require custom extractors as the extractors may hit the body when you try and uprite the motor..
  23. That will work fine. Just got to watch out for the earlier model Corolla 5 speed boxes..
  24. yep, just make sure its from a KE70 as there are 2 different types of K50 (Different extension housings = different shifter positions)..
  25. What is it, First you say 4AGE, Now you are saying 4K? In a KE70 For a 4AGE you need to run a T50 gearbox In a KE70 for a 4KC you need to run a K50 gearbox is your car auto at the moment or manual? if its a 4 speed manual just put a K50 in it and be done with it..
