What comes in 7L? 427 in³ = 6997.276 cm³ :worship: Insane car, would love to even sit in the passenger seat and be driven around

No updates but I tidied up in the back yard today and had a family shot of the other cars including the new ke20 I got for $50. ke20 is pretty odd it has a speedo in both km/h and mph, it also has full chrome around the windows, under the doors. must be something to do with the "deluxe" badging.
-
Eeek I own another ke20.... Fresh reco 4k, has some wierd holes in the body, no brakes. I am going to try to pick it up in the next couple of days.

OOhh Looking closely at the motor I can see parts of factory air con? Well done
-
Well this beast is not far off being ready for the road, just gotta put in the 3k and tyres, fixed a few niggling problems like the handbrake, etc but it is coming together nicely. I am going to look at another corolla today, all I could get out of the farmer that owns it is "Its a 2 door with a rebuilt motor and if you don't buy for $50 it it is going to the scrap yard" I have a feeling it will be coming home with me tonight. :osama: Shhh don't tell the boss of the house! :abuse:

"dodgy" Mods Youve Done To Your Car
ke30dude replied to Evan G's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
After talking to a cement power pole with my vl cable ties held my front bumper on, I had to remove the radiator shroud as the fan rubbed on it and some chemiweld fixed the cracks in the head. On my way to wagga wagga one time I blew the head gasket on my XF ute, filled it up with water from a irrigation channel and then just boiled it the extra 90km to wagga, filled it with water and cooked it 140km home again, bought that ute for $100 sold it for $100, WINRAR!! On my vk after sending number 1 piston shooting for the moon I filled it up with coolant again, kept going until the crown of the piston fell down and smashed the crank. .22 casings make good fuses. -
Only with a uleh does pipe. Turbu flutters bru...

Looks really clean, well done.

Cheers Roo, she was pulling to the left a bit also due to having different size tyres on each side. Would have put the same size on each end of the car but I didn't want to be hassled for being a uleh with stockies on the back.

Can someone get a pic? nearest subway is 55km away.

That is really nice, a lot of people would have just pancaked it.

I fixed the washers today, all new hose and T peice from mitre 10 cost a whopping $2.40. Another fuel line split, this time between the filter and motor so I replaced both bits in the engine bay and the filter for good measure. Ignition coil, was playing up, swapped it with another standard one, I will be buying a bosch GT40 when I am next in town. Replaced the speedo and cable, the previous owner had broken the clip that hols it into the speedo and then repaired it with masking tape. Repaired all the butchered wiring behind the dash, it appears when they took the dash apart to install their stereo they unplugged the light dimmer for the gauges, instead of tracing the circuits they just hard wired it to the park lights with a piece of speaker wire that ran all the way to the front bumper. The lighter socket wiring had somehow been incorporated into the headunit wiring and I found a couple of blown globes behind everything. To repair before reg Front indicator Rear brakes/diff Speedo 4x tyres rust hole in the vent area rust in sill washers Install a 3k  Engine bay pic with pretty new washer and fuel hoses, just the rest to tidy up:

All good :D I had a bit of spare time because the boss was not up yet. The clusters are the same it just looked different because my early one didn't have the clock. Swapped the speedo in, along with the cable because someone had repaired the clip on the end with masking tape. While I was at it I realized that someone had butchered the wiring to make the lights behind the speedo work, it appears that the dimmer cable had been unplugged lol, repaired the harness and plugged it back in. More off my before RWC list :D

I have a ke35 with the late type dash, however the speedo does not work, it is definately not the cable as the odometer happily ticks over. My question is Even though the clusters are different can I just swap the sppedo unit itself between the late and early model dash? Only asking this as I have a spare early model dash in a car I am wrecking, Thanks Guys.

Nice ke30 there, was it originally a manual converted to auto? As you already have the cup for the clutch cable there but I can see an auto dipstick.
-
He could hide it in the glovebox, under the seat, put in an under dash shelf and mount it on that, all reversible :) Woz, I was surprised how well my ke35 goes, compared to any stock K motored corolla I have driven it seemed to fly, mine is manual though.

I Did a bit here and there this morning, replaced the wheel cylinders and fully bled out the brakes. I can now lock the ke up with ease, it pulls up very nicely, have a heap less pedal travel also. Upon pulling the old cylinders apart I found they were pitted and rusted. Also I replace4d the rubber fuel line under the car, it was split and weeping, did not realise that pulling the line off would syphon the tank! so I also had to disconnect it inside at the tank as well. Pics of it on the lawn, looking heaps better!

Don't strip it!!! ke35's are becoming too few and far between now.... :y:
-
Thats a very nice pair of ke2x's you have there....

I pulled the back brake drums too see what is grinding non stop, it appears we had a seized wheel cylinder that was also weeping fluid. Ordered parts at the local auto gear place today, I just wanted a seal kits to rebuild both sides but new cylinders were $23 each, so I went with them. When I put these in I will paint the brake drums also.

Although I have neer touched it since buying it I snapped up my ke26 6 years ago and put it away in a shed for one day, cost me $250 back then. I found mine off a bloke on the old corollas yahoo group.
-
Fixed the alternator, I put in one from my old ke70, now the chg light comes on when the engine is stopped and the car will keep running if you disconnect the battery.

I hadn't thought of that cheers, I got stuck into polishing one of the wheels today to see what it looked like using some "California customs, purple metal polish" one came up fantastic after a good couple of hours work into it, I also did a second wheel, very time consuming job, result is very worthwhile though :sob: One the wheels are done I will takesome more pics. I will also be painting the middle of them black again and getting rid of the center caps.
