  1. Thats cool as the helper springs are on their way to me..... Hopefully my payment got through okay.
  2. Looks good dude! What suspension are you going to run in the back end?
  3. Haven't actually seen the car yet, I had the bloke send me more pics but these were the best for showing the damage. its going for $250 reserve not met at the moment.
  4. I am looking into buying this beastie, but worried about this damage. Rest of the car is pretty good, not much rust at all even the spare tyre well is excellent. What is this gonna cost to have fixed up in that corner for the basic metalwork and bogging? I am plenty capable of stripping out the parts around it and painting at a later date just not very good at unbending panels. Has been sitting for a LONG time.
  5. I don't think so (I have been wrong before) I bought 2x clutches one for a 4sp and one for 5sp k boxes and one has a bigger input shaft than the other. Cheers.
  6. I have a 4 door one hidden away in a shed. I put some 12" jelly bean wheels on it so far. I want to put its original colour back on it and have a fairly psycho 4k in it. :)
  7. I am keen for three of the original ones. One for each of the "kids".....
  8. I work at woolies, have done so for the last 5 years, 2ic of groceries. not going up any further as I want to keep my life. :lolcry: Also work part time at my mates shop for free stuff and he welds up rust etc for me. he runs the shop at the local tip, I have awsome fun on my days out there, you can talk shit, smoke like a chimney and drink coffee to your hearts content (although I gave up smoking 2 weeks ago). Cheers everyone.
  9. Do they get ford falcones over seas? lol
  10. Nice looking car you have there. Cheapest and nastiest way to lower the front is to take a cheapo angle grinder to the springs. (not reccomended from my way. Other is finding a set of lowered springs to suit.
  11. Found the wheels out the front of a scrap metal yard where people dump stuff attached to a celica. I only scored 3 wheels though because somone else took the other one. :lolcry:
  12. Well well well. the old girl can almost see light again, its been buried under rubble from when dad emptied the old shed out and surrounded by other vehicles. I sold the rear springs to a lady from work some time ago, I have her old sagged ones and I am purchasing some helper springs soon. The missus saw it today and likes it also, which is good as far as I am concerned. One more car to get rid of and it gets to come home.
  13. Ok I just had a sneak and peek at my fathers torana with a internally regulated bosch alternator. The small wire goes to the CHG light The one that bolts on goes to the positive. :(
  14. has the alternator you have got a little black box on the back of it? if so then it is an internally regulated one. I cannot remember how to hook this type up but from memory it was simple. Alternatively you can buy a externally regulated one like this. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...E:B:DBS:AU:1123
  15. Got it out, there was not enough room for the loop to slip away from the hook easily. I just gave it a good pry with some needle nose pliers.
  16. G'day everyone just wondering if someone can help me here. I have a rebuild kit for my fuel pump and I am pulling the pump apart at the moment. Top cover held by 3 screws, too easy. top half held by 5 screws, easy as well. Now how in the world do I get the diaphragm out? I took to it with the grinder and cut the top part of the thing (not the pump housing.) so I could see how it links but I just can't get enough room to unhook it and remove. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Cheers. :(
  17. HA, it nearlly put me on my ass as I am a scrawny thing. Getting the crane out of the back of the shed and setting it up would have taken longer and would have left me more stuff dent the car with...
  18. So after I finished work today I went around to my fathers to pick up my old 4k, getting it in the daily was that hard part as my father is away and I CBF'd getting the engine crane out so I lifted it into the boot myself. Getting it out of the boot was easy as when I got home I told the other half there was an old motor in her boot, was out of the car before I got inside! Anyhow the pic of it more or less complete was just after I got it home, I wasnt sure of what it would be like inside as it had been out in the rain for a couple of years. Second pic shows maybe it wont be too bad! Bit of luck I will have the whole car here in the next fortnight. :)
  19. My old ke20 ran out at 1/4 a tank. the ke30 used to run out dead on the E. I wouldnt trust em.... :)
  20. Huge job on your hands there, good luck with it.
  21. Havent managed it with a K. In my old commodore I left home for griffith (55km away) and noticed some loud rattling, being ignorant I just shrugged it off and kept going. 30 mins later I am almost there and all of a sudden to hold my 90km/h I had to hold it flat after giving it a decent gutful around some bends. Chug the last 5km into griffith and it is sounding worse than anything I have ever heard, can't keep it running and eventually stalls at a roundabout. Push it around the corner and look under the bonnet, it was FATF style! pretty white smoke! Being the deadset legend I am (hmm?) I notice there is no coolant and my battery is fairly knackered. So I walk down to bigW and buy some coolant and a battery. Back at the "beast" I notice the coolany disappeared very quickly into nowhere but I wasnt deterred I was going to drive this sucker home. After a good minute or two on the key the old 202 rattled back into life only to completely seize a few seconds later. What happened? The 202's are known to pop pistons, the only reason she seized was the crown fell between the crank and the block. otherwise I would have driven home.
  22. Top job so far, looking forward to seeing it finished!
  23. Back in 2000 when I bought the ke30 and I was in year 8 she looked like this. It had a 3k running on 3 cyliners. Best part was the widened stockies which I am going to use again. Bought as seen in the pic for $300. Now I am almost 21 and fallen back in love with the old girl.
  24. Hi there I am new here and thought I would introduce myself and my rides. I'm from the riverina MIA and have just got back into corollas (I went to the dark side of commodores) Anyhow enough of that here we go. My daily driver is a 2002 acsent sedan. no mods except the cd player and wheels. there will be no others. My project is one I got bored with years ago. The pic of my ke30 complete is from many years ago after I built it the first time. Since then I tore it down to bare metal, painted the basic shell and then left it. Many parts have been lost and I am just happy to be starting with a shell that is pretty much rust free. The motor will be a 4k that was in my "thrashcar.com" ke20 fully rebuilt again for more abuse. For starters this thread I would like to dedicate wholly to my project and will update with current pics as soon as I get it trailered to my new place. (once the commodore is gone out of the shed in the next week or so) So far I have some goodies for the 4k sitting here. single weber dcoe carby and manifold with linkages. Brand new alternator New clutch New set of rings fuel pump kit polished rocker cover And a few more bits and peices. General plan now is to get it roadworthy, paint it in primer and just use it as is once its running right. Cheers everyone :)
