  1. Cheers dude, Ill knock some off from my fathers house when I wander over there later to grab another windscreen (I cracked the bloody thin just as the whole lot let go from the seal GRRR)
  2. Stripping my ke20 some more today, trying to get her ready for a new coat of life I cut the windscreen seals and lifted the screens out, leaving behind this black thick as stuff that sticks to everything. I tried hot soapy water, no great result, what else can I try without using heavy solvents?
  3. I think I offended the old fella today lol. I rock up and take a look. Body is very straight, minimal rust (his wife who I work with said it was rusty as hell), new clutch, reco gearbox, reco carby, electronic fuel pump, reco brakes, brand new windscreen, new tyres. Interior is a bit how you doin so is the paint. 4k-c is dying for a set of rings. So I offered $400 cash in the end and got rejected, nevermind, I have spotted a ke30 in somones farm shed a bit out of town I will ask around about soon.
  4. This post goes out to the f@$king wanker who milked my commodore dry while I was in the sydney childerens hospital with my daughter. (600+km away) I had just filled the f@$kin thing getting ready for a trip to wagga wagga to pick up my ke20 when the coil pack died, needless to say I just left it there and borrowed a ute. We get home and it still ahd plenty of go juice as I managed to get it running on 4cyl. Bub comes along, and we get shipped off to sydney with some major complications, not really thinking much, I just deadlocked the car, locked up the house, jumped in the rolla and off I went. We finally get home (6 weeks later), and I am sitting in the carport having a well deserved f@$king drink, when I notice all the screwdriver marks around my fuel lid on the commodore. I pop the fuel door and my cap is sitting loosely done up. By now I am absolutely f@$king ropable and jump in the pos only to find my battery is flat, so I go down town to the servo on a sunday morning to buy a new battery ($127!!! f@$k me last time I got one they were $60) and I go back home again. Battery in, I get her running, not only running on 6 cyl but better than ever (I hate this car now) I pull out of the driveway only to realise that some lowlife not only took a jerry can full, but the whole long range 85L tank. I chugged down to wollies and threw in $20 to get me back home again. So to the wanker that stole my hard earned fuel, I hope you swallowed a gut full of it and die rotting somewhere you wont be found, some of us actually work bloody hard for our shit and obvoisly you have nothing better to do than spend your whole f@$king centerlink payment on bongs and booze. DO NOT let me catch you near my house or my cars again. Also I hate commodore transmissions, Mine somehow got full of water even though I run a seperate transmission cooler than have it run through the radiator, the pan was full of metal fillings a while backand the oil was black. maybe it is time to sell the pos and be done with it. I hate sanding as well, I started rubbing back the boot off me ke20 the other day, and each time I got it silky smooth ready for some primer more of the old crap would flake off, 3 hours later I have one panel ready for paint, now we just have the rest of the car to go. I hate lawnmowers, I do them up as a sideline from work, I spent an hour or so setting up a reco motor on a victa 2 stroke only to find the magneto was shagged. this would be ok if it was like any briggs and stratton motor and mounted on top, but NOooOOoo it has to be under the motor and you have to completely remove it again. I feel a tad better with all that off my shoulders, this thread rocks.
  5. thats what I was thinking, if it is a 5sp I am happy to make a decent offer. Never seen this thing close up, I drive past it fairly often and work with the owners wife.
  6. Going to look at one in the next few days. it is in fairly average condition, stock as a rock 4sp manual, he has already told me to make an offer. Body has a fair amount of rust. Was going to offer $300 cash, I only want the motor and interior for my ke30 then wrecking the rest of it out. Is $300 a decent offer? I don't think it has rego.
  7. My mothers tercel running a 3a-c hass over 600000km on it, it uses oil and water, has had four oil changes since they got it with 360000km on it, litterally driven this thing into the ground. Still, you go out to it every morning snow or sunshine, pump the throttle twice and turn the key and go anywhere.
  8. This little chick brightens up my day, she is currently on palliative care from neurological problems but we are making the absolute most of the time we have!
  9. Getting a 20 as a daily is a great idea, I got that one in wagga I showed you on ebay hiding in my garage at home now. :eatlead:
  10. Car looks good mate, is that my old 5k? I was wondering how you got on with that. Cheers.
  11. Lookin good, have you heard anything about where your old springs are up to? no sign of anything here yet.
  12. When the little one gets better we will come home, I would be home for a day here or there buy we are 600km away from home.
  13. good luck dude, I would have got back to you about the bigport head but we are all currently in sydney.
  14. rims for a ke30 sould be easy, I'm having trouble finding some for my 20. had bid on a set of csa globes but missed out.
  15. Nothing to add people, currently staying over in the ACT hospital. Watch for the silver zze122r sedan with the hyperfangs, wing and towbar driving like shit LOL.
  16. Only taking 4 weeks for now, keep the rest up my sleeve.we should all be at home by saturday or so. will be fun.
  17. Has anyone tried the ebay window seal kits? looking at this: My seals are ..... F*cked, both windscreens are about to fall in. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/A-TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE...1QQcmdZViewItem Also got a new baby on the scene, this one is human though!
  18. Funnily enough I had a falcon ute do the same thing, be perfect around town but would boil on the highway. Was a cracked head. Check the obvious things first as already stated, flush te radiator, change the thermostat, check hoses and clamps, flush the block (you would be amazed at how much crap comes out of one) and go from there.
  19. In my 600000km old 3ac in my old tercel, it was a crack in one of the plastic plates between carby and manifold causing her to run on, the 4ac corolla carby setup may be different though. One little crack took about 4 years to fix, well maybe an hour after we workd out what the prob was. Had the motor decarbonised (otherwise it would still be a factory sealed motor) timing and everything else possible under the sun done. The ol "turtle" is still pulling 200km trips every day, chugging oil and water like I used to with booze and cigs but it wont die.
  20. Holidays rock, Not only do you get paid to do whatever you want, you also get leave loading. I have 11 weeks up my sleeve, may take some more in a few months.
  21. Only got acrylic, nothing fancy. gonna rip into it over the next 4 weeks, I am on holidays because the cook is having the kid soon. :P
  22. 4, should be plenty to get the outside and in the doors and the boot finished, not pulling the motor out until after she is registered yet.
  23. Yep use a rag wet with thinners and it should come off fairly easily.
  24. Got my paint today, colour matched to the original cream colour. Would have pics but already sealed the tin back up. Another $190 blown on this one :P
