  1. Looks like someone burnt some valves and cheaped out on a full new set there.... Just whack some liquid metal on the piston man, she'll be right! haha.
  2. hahaha, you're welcome!
  3. If the total area of the pistons in the calipers is not any greater than that of the old ones, the master/booster will be fine.
  4. microwave them first, then oven to crisp them up ;)
  5. every batch is going to smell different, but I usually find E10 and 91 cars smell like rotten eggs and shit when you drive behind them on the freeway. I havent had any stinky fuel from Shell of late (always use 98)
  6. I think it depends on how its being presented? if its presented as it would seem- 6 OVER 2(2+1) So using the slash as an indicator of a fraction, rather than symbolising division Then you get 6/6=1?
  7. clear coat seperation is so common in cars from the 90s. Looks at most commodores, toyotas and falcons with COB paintwork. They all have issues. The problem is actually from the way the cars were painted, the base was left too long before the clear was applied, means that the poly elements of the two paints don't mix and stick like they should.
  8. hahaha, essentially all the money we get for engagement or wedding will be going off the debt incurred in the process... lol
  9. because you can send and receive filthy disgusting pornographic stuff? (and boobs) haha. As for the money/wedding thing, I'm struggling at the moment with the same thing. All our family and friends keep asking what we want for the engagement party. I've told them that we don't expect anything from anyone. But they all insist, we have owned our house and lived together for 4 years, so don't need anything, we have nice new furniture and house is full of knick nacky decorative stuff. So they offer cash.... OK, I don't want to take it, but people are so insistent. Then some of them ask how much I want! how do you answer that? I;ve just been saying "ten mill should do it" and laughing it off. but it is EXTREMELY awkward. We'll probably have a wishing well thing at the wedding, but same thing is bound to happen.

    8 Sec Ke20

its ʞ©$ɟing quick for a 2ltr! but still sounds like a dodgy tractor on idle :P
  11. Yeah, Karlies ordered her sisters from a Chinese dress place that copies the designer styles, she asked me if I wanted her to get the copy, but I figure, we are only planning to do this once and even if 20 years down the track thats not the case, well, you only get one first wedding, may as well make it a nice one and do everything you really want to do for it. I'm just glad she didnt want one of the 20+k dresses she tried on (not seriously wanting one, just playing girly girl with the rich hobnobs she works with! lol)
  12. some loving for the torana
  13. I've always been wary of stainless for extractors. The heat cycles they see (and higher temps) leave them pretty prone to cracking and warps. Just something to be careful of in the future. WGMG: ʞ©$ɟing wedding dresses. WHY SO EXPENSIVE DAMN YOU!
  14. The V6 will be the easier option, its only 3cylinders long, where as the I6 ford motor will require some cut and shut with the firewall. I dare say the I6 will be the more expensive option too. Either would give you a smile though. If it was me, Id be grabbing a standard ecotech v6 and a cheap turbo kit for 8psi, the L67's fetch a pretty penny most days.
  15. you could get away with buying a mandrel donut or two to make that bend a bit tidier, would give you a nice radius rather than flats. good onya for giving it a go though.
  16. where in Aus are you? Central coast clutch and brake made all my lines for the torana, if you arent in the middle of nowhere, they could probably give you a second quote.
  17. Give Earls a yell and see what they say. otherwise, if you arent fussy on how it looks, call an industrial hose supplier like Pirtek. They should be able to knock something up cheap as chips.
  18. hahahaha, had a young guy, hoodie half up/half down like a cool kid, driving a convertible late 90s astra.... red P plates... do the exact same thing to me today. I just pulled top of 2nd gear and dropped back, he caught up, kept driving like a lunatic. Ended up next to him at next red light (10km section of road, with lights like every 1.5k) After that he just kept taking off like a tool from every set of lights, I just mosied along lol. Still ended up infront of him when we hit the next lot of traffic. lol. its the little things in life that make you smile. :D
  19. life... have not you do :P WMMH? Wedding is planned for may next year, (got engaged oct14th this year) everyone said we would struggle to get things organised etc etc. Church is booked, Reception venue booked (with a 20% discount through Karlies step-dad) Wedding cars sorted (toranas of course! Karlie is turning up in a 9 second LJ torry :D ) Cake sorted (long long time family friend, award winning cake maker) She found her dress in the first shop she went to (mind you... she was in a designer shop, the first dress she tried on was 20k!!... its ok though, hers was 3k, but after some looking, she found it elsewhere for half that! happy days!) All we need is a florist, suits and a photographer :)
  20. Yeah the 5km beforehand speed limiting is for douchebags like those that almost hit you. The theory is that more warning makes them more cautious and gives more time to notice the speed change. Theory doesnt always work in reality though... WGMG; having the ʞ©$ɟing flu when its 30+ degrees and humid.
  21. I don't have the time to go looking for the pictures of some of my old stuff, but found this on google to sort of explain what I mean http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/miker//trans_cross_member05a.jpg aside from the fact that its part of the chassis by the looks of the picture, a semi circle of thick walled tube, with some small angle braces back down to your boxed section would have given you an upward arc that would have given you the exhast clearance and removed a heap of ppossible fatigue points (all the welds) Defnitely hit up Summit or Jeggs in the future! Most hotrod/classic/old car guys buy our performance gear from them. Its so much cheaper. Maybe don't look right now though, when you see the price difference (sometimes half...!) between Rip-off-rocket and them, it might make you cry. Also, if you are looking for fittings etc in Aus, try earls directly, or Sydney performance wharehouse, lots of people go to rocket because they are the biggest, but they are actually the most expensive place in the country for most things.
  22. Why not just buy a thick walled length of large diameter steel tube and use a section of that to provide your scallop? would have saved a butload of work and provided more strength. But, good work still, nothing worse than having your exhaust try and rip itself off (breaking welds etc etc) every time there is a bump in the road. That little trip to Rocket would have set you back a bit! If you can wait on your parts a couple weeks, order from summitracing.com jeggs.com Your braided line and fittings will be like 1/5th the cost and if you keep the order under $1000 you wont pay tax. Shipping is a little pricey, but it still comes in well under the cost of buying the bits in aus.
  23. I've got the original Defy, was given the spiel about it being near unbreakable etc etc. Go out of the car one night, as I swung my leg out, it must have been sitting at the end of my pocket, fell on the groun (had done so before) clipped the corner and smashed the screen. took it back to the privately franchised telstra shop I bought it from and got told "you don't believe advertising and salespeople do you?" I told her that the law kinda means I should be able to? Argument ensued, I left, wrote a nasty letter to telstra about their representatives and now that lady doesnt work there anymore? lol. Still rocking it with a broken screen though (thank gos for the screen protector, its held all the glass together) That said, will go another motorolla Defy when my contract runs out again (later this year)
  24. every harness Ive ever used have been a single action to undo, even the old style ones are a flip-lever that just links the other 4 points together Are you sure your friend just doest have old seatbelts strung in various directions that he ties together in a big knot? That I can understand taking a while! :D
  25. Do the wholesale laws still exist Shadey? (the whole, can only sell so many cars in a year thing)
