  1. begfeet? (just sounds like big foot in NZ talk really!) bigfoots? bogfeet? (or is that a plumber?)
  2. I find "girlfriend" always sounds like I'm in highschool and I'm playing he said, she saids again. I always call Karlie my partner or my missus, we arent married or engaged (yet) but as far as I am concerned, the bit of paper with both our names on it, that says we ower to bank over 250k is more commitment then a ring and a certificate is!
  3. Nice Waliant! (yeah yeah, bad wog joke) I always wanted a VC valiant in "vitamin C" (orange) The old slant 6 vals go like the clappers with some work, pity they don't stop and turn real well to match it! but definitely awesome sleds.
  4. Nice and tidy! how much were you hoping to get for it originally?
  5. hmmm torana and ute....
  6. can't be sued if its true though, so simply stating the member of the forums who came to pick up the parts, and stating that he believes that one of his tag alongs pocketed the camera will not get anyone into any trouble whatsoever AFAIK. I'm all for naming and shaming, let people know who to be wary of etc. I never let people come to my house from the internet. Everything I have sold on ebay or forums, I have always made them meet me somewhere (usually use the excuse that my house is hard to find etc) Same thing when selling the seca, if you wanted to come look after seeing it on the net, then Id organise to meet them at a servo or shopping centre, always took two cars (missus in the commodore just in case) I have too much stuff around my house that people might take interest in for later (although the dog scares most people off)
  7. exposed bare metal, salted roads during winter, repeat process etc. Looks like the discs would have been VERY well worn aswell.
  8. yeah Id be fitting a cup chaped welsch plug, those are a terrible design, no wonder they pop out!
  9. love the colour! small, loud, old orange things are definitely my kind of toys. Very nice.
  10. Nice to see someone who can appreciate a well looked after standard car! Definitely a time warp, and probably worth a pretty penny one day in the future (hell, how many do you see around, let along clean examples)
  11. so wait, you painted it, then rubbed it with 800, then primered it again? Yeah sheepskin buff with some ultra fine buffing compound (panel beating supply shops should sell some decent quality buffing compound)
  12. You mean window silicon JiP? Sikaflex doesnt stay "gooey" for all that long (turns to rubber) Windscreen sealan stays sticky and pliable for decades.
  13. yeah cut it back with the 1200 and a good buff would work wonders. Just don't rub too hard/far and stay away from the edges (so you don't burn through them) same goes for the buff. Alot of people try and run over the edges to speed things up, usually ends up in a strip and repaint of the panel to fix the now burnt through patch.
  14. nos tanks not hooked up!
  15. are you just using a solid colour (no clear?) with clear over base, I usually lay down 2 or 3 coats of colour, then 3 or more coats of clear. Solid colours I usually do 3 or 4 coats (depending on which project, quickies get less paint) Although, that said, I usually do them one after the other (let it flash/tack, then hit it again)
  16. offer still stands, hit me up if you want to sell them.
  17. yeah you can give it a light cut (2000 grit paper would work) before laying another layer of paint. Cut and buff at the end of the job will also reduce the amount of "shit" in the finish. Well I'm going to die then, Ive painted 2 pack lots of times with just a mask on (last weekend for example....) On the same note, from memory (in NSW anyway) its meant to be illegal to spray 2k in open areas (ie outdoors)... not that I ever do it though
  18. you can get it machined to be lighter, BUT removing metal is always going to weaken the part, and when its a flywheel, thats not always a good thing. In a RWD application, the flywheel is right next to your feet, not a good thing if it lets go (Ive seen it happen, trust me, its not pretty) If it was me (and I know others wouldnt have this attitude) Id buy a performance explosion proof flywheel. lighter then you will get a std flywheel and safer for your walking future.
  19. If you are looking to throw some bucket seats in and get rid of the front seats or even the whole interior, give me a yell, Id be keen on the fronts (and would take the rear if you wouldnt sell the fronts on their own) Are they OEM seats retrimmed or from something else?
  20. Primer fumes wont kill you. carcenogenic fumes start when you are mixing hardeners and reducers into the 2 pack paints. ohh and I paint 2 pack in the backyard with just a respirator...... the suit is usually to stop you getting overspray all over yourself, if you havent noticed, they arent usually air tight, so its not to stop your skin absorbing it... The clean air supply thing is simply choice, quality respirators with the correct filters will be fine. 2 pack over 2 pack will be fine, its only when you are painting over acrylic that it will burn or react in certain places. I always prefer to primer before I paint though (Hi fill if possible) gives you a chance to add a solid and smooth base for the paint to go over.
  21. I'm using knox carpet in the torana over underlay, no dramas. Ive got shitloads of underlay around home, works great for emergency hail blankets on cars you can't fit inside and for moving parts/furniture etc around in the trailer.
  22. If you want to throw some underlay in, just go to any carpet store and ask for some recycled material underlay, its the grey woven fibre crap, like what removalists ues as blankets between furniture. Shitloads cheaper then buying from a trimmer or auto store too.
  23. Crack out the pencils and watercolours then!
  24. Alot of sidedraught carbies whistle. My old triple SUs has a slight wistle under 50-80% throttle my triple webers do the same at one point, then its just all induction roar.
  25. usually the older motor in a newer car applies if there were changes in pollution regulations. If you use the older motor in a newer car, the motor has to comply with the pollution regulations corresponding to the vehicles compliance date. Shit thing is, it doesnt work the other way (new motor still has to comply with pollution laws of today, even if going in a 30 year old car) There are a few ways to get around it (none really legal) but yeah, you might have a bit of trouble doing it totally legit.
