** Show And Shine** Nov 16th + South Cruise
mitch4397 replied to ke30Rolla myles's topic in The Event Archive
yeah nick i was thinking that aswell. Ben wants to be re-united with the kids he sold. :D Ben were would you be keen on meeting us? Mitch -
Agreed Raven. However, it sounds like a few ADL rollaclub guys'n'gals are going to be there. Id imagine the weather will be sweet, with a sunset. Whats stopping us from going to a more scenic place afterwards. It seems pretty hard for a lot of people to meet up on meet dates due to work/family commitments, and this sounds like a good opportunity to me. another 2 cents. If not lets set up a shoot date, with pretty places. :lolcry: Mitch

1st Episode Of Top Gear, What Did You Think Of It ?
mitch4397 replied to Budowski's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
after watching the UK version for 5 odd years with their track, the aussie one just looks......really really bad. un-watchable bad. i like how they have clarkson corner. i can imagine him kicking up a stink over the aussie version paying tribute to him.... to me the Au topgear is just a filler until UK version comes back, even then the UK version is starting to fall off. -
siiiick car there adrian. Hawthorn auto electrical, on belair road. Theyr pretty switched on and come highly recommended by the RAA.
-
cheers Ben, yeah shes up and running fine now. the jets in the carby are not 100% correct, but there as close as the tuner could match so she runs the teeniest bit rich. I would and will be happy with 50 - 60rwkw :hmm:
-
Well the carbies were getting tuned for the past 4 days due to the guy tuning them being a one man band in his workshop. Wasn't overwhelmed with the service, but he seemed fair switched on. "Specialty Tuning" just off Marion road is where they got done. Anyways the car runs fair nice, with room for improvement with some head work. She really gets up and roars in the higher revs, will post up a video of her driving. Here's the Dyno sheet, not bad i thought since it doesn't have head work or cams done. Video soon....

ha yep. I thought that u recon'd you just had some dero's chasing you haha so we just boosted home. My cars been getting tuned since Monday man. its now Thursday. he had to change the head gasket cos it was f@$ked. but that was finished on the first day....so what the dude's been doing with my car for 3 days...who knows man. I phoned him everyday, he recons today itll be done. I'm furrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrious. When you flexed out the carpark you got some mega roll, hahaha it was like some american 80's cop chase. When i get my rollz back well meet up in the area. Mitch.

sand the clear coat of using wet and dry, starting with a course grit working through to a fine grit. If you want those rims to bling, get a drill attachment or you wont have fingers by the end of it. If you can't be bothered doing it, there's a guy down at Lonsdale that does a nice job for $30odd per rim, with the tyre off the rim. I say this cause the edges, nooks and cranny's are much harder to bring to a nice shine as opposed to the large flat surface. I recon 30$ bucks is sweet toss all when you consider the yakka, but then again your work is something to be proud of. Up to you Doug. Mitch.

Cheers Ben. Hopefully she shows a bit of improvement with the carbies. Dying to go for a spin. Tax back coming ..i'll burn some pennies on the interior. Video up tomorrow .....hopefully.
-
nice car lesley. i dragged one of these turbo's once in my AE82 with a 4ac with a cannon. got punished.
-
....NOS
-
on the car. Dellorto's getting Dyno Tuned Monday. Cars been off the road for 3 weeks now........
-
Rad Rolla, I myself would steer clear of the wire brush as from what ive learnt in the past is, it scratches the metal fair severly, and then you have to sand the scratches out start with a lower grit working through to higher. I could be wrong. But more work in my opinion. Oh theres a brush in my pic  i tried it for a split second then decided not too.....ignore the brush.

cheers guys and girls. I used a sander (its not orbital....but...it just vibrates hell quick, 50 bucks from bunnings) with wet and dry, started with 600, and then a bita 1200. Then for the polishing, used Autosol. I attatched a polishing cloth to the sander.....and then yeah from there on just keep at it  its a slow process but worth it in the end. All in all probably 3-4 hours. Heres my calais rims that i did a while back. Was an absolute bitch of a job, id say it took 15+ hours. There is no shortcut. Cheers Mitch
