  2. Hey guys, thought id show off my new work car, picked her up for 500 bucks, after it had been sitting for nearly 14 years in a guys shed, spent about another $500 and a few months to get her on the road. Sprayed it myself in two pak, come up awsome, plus i picked up another van for free, so i had heaps of parts. its a 4k 4 speed, with 3in lower on the front and 2 1/2in on the back. This is now my 7th ke70 i have had and prolly the coolest cause its the panel van. Any ways, hope you all enjoy it. oh and how cool are my number plates... hahaha Picture links are in the third post, enjoy
  3. hey there, i finished my full year in khanacross last year in my ke70, before you start modifying your car, check the class rules at the club you wish to race at. ive got a 4k with twin 40mm sidedraughts, cam, extractors and exhaust. and because i have changed the intake system, it puts me in class 3u at my club which puts me up against other similar cars with similar mods up to 2lt engine capacity. there for ive got 200b datos, 2lt eskies, geminies etc. if you want some good advice, spend what money you have on some harder springs which will help you slide, and some rally retreads, about 60 bucks each. plus ya helmet, extinguisher etc. plus if you transplant a different motor it may also put you up a class staright away ive heard a 32/36dgva weber is pretty much a bolt on cheap upgrade (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the most important thing is to have fun hope this helps
  4. 50mm angle aluminium works as well, thats what both of mine are held together with
  5. i got a pretty much standard 4k with twin 40's off a alfa (solex's) with 34mm chokes and she runs sweet. a bit thirsty though hahaha, 40l get 275k's, go global warming
  6. old school starlet and te37, what a waste :)
  7. hey there, i thought id throw my two cents worth in as i sold tools for about 4 years, sidchrome or snap on is your best bet, sidchrome and kinchrome are not made by the same people, BUT, when you do purchase what ever brand you go for, make sure it is made in taiwan and not china. both companies make tools in both countries and the qaulity is different. And for all the tradesman and mechanics who say that my socket broke and it is covered by a lifetime warranty, 75% of the time it is not. the LIFETIME WARRANTY covers only faulty workmanship(bubble in the steel, bad casting). if a socket breaks because you put it on a rattle gun, or had it on the end of a 36in breaker bar, or if you ratchet breaks because you had a peice of pipe on the handle or you were hitting it with a hammer, you will most probably not get a new one. pipes on the handle leaves marks on the tool and you can tell when it has been on a rattle gun, and the rep from the company wont replace it. so don't go off at the slaesman behind the counter, its not his fault. kc tools, koken, T&E tools, TTI, Blackwoods and sons, stanley, all reasonable brands if it is not made in china, its only now that some half decent stuff is coming out of there, but be aware, hope it helps  plus if you ar only working on corollas you only need metric
  8. this might be a stupid question, but what are the advantages up twisting the motor a few degrees? shurely can't give more horse power? you would also have to redrill the bell housing too :S wouldnt you?
  9. hey thats awesome, what engine and mods has it got? 4k.......
  10. twin 40's, cam, heavy duty valve prings and thats it. the class was 0-1300cc. cages are shit expensive, $2000 fitted for a full cage, but my uncle is a retired metal works teacher, so we doin it ourselves. there was some hot cars there, a buggy with a p76 v8 in it that pulled wheel stands of the line, was bloody crazy :)
  11. we drove at sundays state khanacross and funnily enough i came first, second place was also another ke70. just waiting for cage and then can be competitive in rallys. anyone who is in the newcastle area should come down to the wac club at toronto at the next meet and watch the rolla kick arse. 4k for the win the photos are from the last meet but the same track, now sporting new paint job. feel free to comment. later penalty means i lost by .73 of a second or some bullshit like that.
  12. I'm only 5'5  and i got plenty of room hahaha  theres some bloddy big people in this club isnt there, come on, now who is the shortest????
  13. i use that black scuffs boot polish on the ke70's bumpers and rear vision mirrors, its the liquid stuff in the bottle with the sponge on top, comes up sweet after a wash. i was also told by my carby mechanic that after degreasing the motor to spray innox on the carbies to keep them looking new. it works all right.
  14. thats the sweetest v8 conversion iv seen yet, summernats entrant yet?
  15. if you were serious about doing this the easiest would be a panel van, i have senn about a dozen gemini panel vans turned in to utes, a couple made hot 4s magazines. but if i saw you cut a corolla panel van up that was in good condition i would cut your balls off. :jamie: Just trying to find a good one thats all.
  16. my old man had a ke70 when i was a kid, loved them ever since, had 5 and 1/2 ke70's in 3 years. still got 2 and 1/2 my 1/2 ke70 has got a bbq in the boot compartment. its bloody awsome.
  17. my best experience was at night when me old girl was drivin, i think i was pissed or sick or both, and the copper pulled her over, he went over the whole car, started writing a heap of shit done until he came to the window and seen a little oldish lady drivin, and did a breath test and let her go, was the funniest thing ever. seeing a ke70 with 9in wide wheels on the back was pretty memorable aswell, scrubbed on inner and outer gaurd :lmao:
  18. bump for any newbies or newcastle rollas, newy cars meeting at hexham maccas at 10.30, we off to terrigal :P :) :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry:
  19. yeah we will be coming from newy, probably only 5 cars coming now, the rolla drivers up hear are as soft as rotten peaches and don't want to drive that far. they don't deserve to be driving rollas....... :P
  20. me and a few guys will be heading a run for the said cruise from newcastle, if anyone is interested and would like to go down in a corolla convoy, just pm me. probably meet around 10 for a 10.45 depart. pm for meeting destination. :P
  21. they were aussie dollars and december prices. isnt a gallon 4.4ltrs, i thought a 44 gallon drum was 100ltrs, tell me if i f@#ked in the head though.
  22. netherlands-$2.20, Sweden, austria-$1.90 and America $0.66 a litre, you poor barstards ;)
  23. yeah up in country newcastle, as we are known, $1.33 for pulp, and $1.25 for ulp. in the hunter valley, my olds are paying $1.32 for ulp. BULLSHIT ;)
  24. black simmons, they are tougher than jeff fenech, haha
