  1. Looks good, tidy
  2. Yes it will be engineered and daily driven once completed
  3. No more fender mirrors  , just a couple of gaping holes of where they used to be :(
  4. Read the whole thing and my hat goes off to you sir. Its not too often you see a car done "right" this car has been done right and then some. This is by far the best KE30 I have ever seen, that engine bay . . . wow! Wishing I had your skills, patience and persistence. P.s your getting that exhaust housing coated right? ;)
  5. I would put a CA18 into my corolla over a SR20 anyday, personal preference
  6. sweet pano man. Nice and neat, suttle upgrades. Me likey
  7. yeah that was many moons ago, oh the memories indeed. So todays effort, I wanted to get this bad boy as far back as possible and the tunnel was stopping me. Also the intake being on the opposite side means ill have to make up some custom fuel lines that come out on the other side. This left me with only 1 line left, the brake line. Because I'm going so far back the bellhousing hits nearly all of the start of the tunnel so i had to simply re-bend the brake line to a lower position for when it exits the tunnel. Also did some choppy choppy. So now i can get all of the engine in the engine bay. Enough room at the back of the engine for water pipes, heater hoses etc. Now this is one long, heavy ass engine but it is also very low height wise. Managed to fit it without crossmember spacers and i could park a small car in between the strut brace and cam covers!
  8. Howdy all, big move is over and finally starting to get settled in and get some work out of the way. Now i can start to have tinker with my toy. So firstly got the rear wheels offset changed to a -12 so they sit flush with the guards, unfortunately doing this destroyed some of the paint, now I will have to get them powdercoated so i took the opportunity to fill the holes up where the ghey plastic studs go. Also took this, looked nice so i thought id share it Now on to engine choice . . . Ive had the idea for a while but never really wanted to reveal it because i know how bad i am at making decisions. I was thinking another 4G63 but maybe do that for a cheap track car or something down the road. Then I was thinking a 2MZ-FE twin turbo'd with an auto behind it but there not readily available in aus and could'nt find an easy way to get an auto behind it. So that just left one engine choice . . . the mighty 1JZ. The inspiration comes from one of my previous car, RA23 celica with 1JZGTE VVTi and I have NEVER forgiven myself for selling this car. At the time i pussed out because the rust was starting to get the better of the car so i sold it. It was the most inconspicuous car i owned, had a motec ecu, stock 1jz, standard CT15b turbo with 660cc injectors, stock auto, 3" exhaust and front mount running 11 and 18psi. This car could be on full boost at 2200rpm, took every car (and bike) by total surprise, you should have seen the face of the ferarri owner, it was not a very happy face i tell you! Had endless fun in the this car, effortless to drive i could be in overdrive @ 60kmph put my foot down and be on boost immediately. Got a 12.4 @ 110mph with shitty 205's on the back. Anyways i could ramble on about this car forever but i wont, here are some reminiscing pics So today i got a chance to strip down the 1jz to get it ready for install and mount making Also happened to have the scaffolding next to it so i took a birds eye view of it sitting in the bay, really shows you what a monster of an engine it is. My engine crane really struggles with it to.
  9. you might have a ta22 bellhousing
  10. You should have contacted me about the mounts, because I would of said undo the locating bolt on the sandwich plate and rotate it 90 degrees. problem fixed
  11. Got a new set of steelies for the old girl. 15 x 8 and 15 x 10's gave them a wash There is still a ship load more room, could possibly fit 11's but I think I may change the rear offset slightly to have a bit less poke on the back.
  12. Well I have out lived my 6 x 6 meter shed and a rent free 16 x 8 meter shed awaits. I will be able to breathe easy soon, can't wait to get out of d'bay and leave the lovely locals ; )
  13. Exactly this ↑ Yes what to do, what to do . . . Hmmmm Another evorolla? Perhaps a 3s? 1uz? Soo many choices!
  14. At long last I finally have myself a new toy to play with. 1984 AE71 factory manual wagon 104 xxx on the clock fairly clean Mods are: AE86 front struts with JDM brakes XYZ coilover kit front lip (mk 1 golf) granny visor (genuine) fender mirrors (genuine) flared guards Gemini front bar 16 x 8 steelies Currently really don't enjoy driving it. The rear leaf spring are soo stiff it feels like the tailgate is going to fall off The valve stem seals are leaking so bad it acts like a squid on defense after every traffic light stop. Really don't like the overly done guard flaring job. So when I get the time to fix these issues I can't wait to go for a nice glorious run . . . mmmmm mmmmmmm And yeah having all these at my disposal, 1 of them will eventually make its way into the wagon But for now it will have to remain stock until I finish moving and settle in
  15. should have gone an evo engine for unique
  16. Wow! this is way better than my evorolla
  17. Agreed, there are much better engine choices out there. End of the day the money you would have spent to do the conversion could have net'd a far better outcome with a different engine choice. 18rc's are not very powerful, speaking from experience. Maybe if you wanted a bit better pulling power if you had a trailer on the back.
  18. Also if your worried about a low hanging sump you could just trim the bottom of the sump and pick up and wing it to get back the capacity
  19. haha, thanks dave. Yep, couldn't have made it any simpler to bolt one of these suckers into a KE70.
  20. yeah people say he's a great guy
  21. beams or evo 4 - 9, I know a guy who could sort you out with mounts in the future?
  22. you are seriously limited to 2k, not even sure you could collect all the parts for a 4age conversion for 2k. Wise man's rule, what ever your going to budget for . . . Double it! or in some cases triple it. Speaking from experience. Maybe a 3SGE if you want to keep it Toyota but didn't want a 4age
