  1. about ten years ago, one of the top cops in TMU were quoted saying that they could defect a brand new car off the production line if they put their mind to it....
  2. might be able to find whitewalls at www.antiquetyres.com ebay sometimes lists the gearbox boot, and the door handles are crap off ebay from what i've heard. I went to a mob in Dandenong that sells bits and pieces for buses, and found door pulls that look factory enough, that are heaps stronger for about 3.50 each. fit the original bolt holes too. i think part number 30357B or 582-0105 http://www.uesint.com/product/handles.php sweet car.
  3. not safely. but doesn't stop people from doing it. have a look at a website called tyrestretch.com for inspiration.
  4. ****disclaimer***** I can't guarantee that those tyres would be suitab;e for a corolla's weight. they are mostly 4 ply tyres, might be worth checking the stock tyres to see roughly what load capacity and ratings they should have to be "safe"
  5. http://www.nextag.com/r12-tires/compare-html http://www.golfcarttirestore.com/205-30-12.htm apparently these are DOT rated too: http://www.palmettospecialtytire.com/servlet/the-77/205-fdsh-30-dsh-12-Low-Profile-Greensaver/Detail palmetto specialty tyre site is to die for... i'm in heaven!!! things have come a long way from about two years ago... wow... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Duro-Excel-215-40-12-Golf-Cart-Tire-Set-Low-Lo-Profile-/360330683878?hash=item53e561e5e6
  6. wrecked mowers will be a source for your wide bands, then have your stock centres put in them after. i still haven't found an awesomely wide 12" legit street tyre though, will let you know if i do...
  7. that was krogdahl head. I went to uni with his daughter for a semester, she told me about it originally, then i found it in a street machine mag i had. small world.
  8. I also looked into this exact thing. 205/30/12 tyres were on these rims and they look hawt, but they would have a rolling diameter so small it wouldn't work. then i started stalking ride on lawn mowers, and you can get hugely wide twelve inch wheels and turf style tyres. only good for up to about 25 km/h though. I still looked, but eventually gave up. I conceded that 13's are the way to go, kumho does a 245/50/13 comp tire that would be awesome on a 10/11 but you'd never break traction... also there's silly widths in commercial van sizes like 225/50 R12.5 that's right, 12 and a half inches. stupid. I have a pair of those, but they are more than twice as heavy as a stockie. google atv 12 :.yahoo.jp in images, comes up with some good pics of quads. if you do go ahead, i want to see pics...
  9. W I N N E R !!! I was a dufus. I almost sent an email to customer service. lol. who measures in cm honestly. oh, btw teddy, it was delicious. ;)
  10. two axles from vic to qld...
  11. inlet is through the middle of the head, also each cam operates both inlet and exhaust valve... wtf again... time to do some googling...
  12. also to add, if you are playing a joke on anybody in your workplace, if that person deems it as offensive, you may lose your own job. any form of harassment is serious guys. I lost my last job because I stood up to a guy who was bullying me. It didn't go right, and I lost out. All is fair when its in fun, but don't cross the line. it's about how the victim feels, not how the perpetrator intended the victim to feel. prank with caution. lecture over. -dave
  13. waggot also made a four cylinder engine with a twin cam head too. I can scratch up some old details in print, but can't find too much online... found this too... wtf turns out from Lancia triflux 16v
  14. btw Evan, its not an owl. look up Tawny Frogmouth.
  15. not even funny guys. every post amounts to bullying and is illegal. most apprentices don't know how to stand up for themselves because they are so shit scared of losing their job. bad form. would have thought the maturity level from most of you could be a bit better. that sort of shit isn't tolerated on the forum, so why implement it elsewhere in life??? I love a joke, especially practical, but property to damage, and physical/verbal abuse is not on.
  16. was it this guy? ohhhh, the engine had a strange head.....
  17. ford are the 5x114.3 so you can use one of the ford holes as one of your toyota holes. pre au offsets for sure. hz will have to be redrilled from scratch, and you will be best welding up all the holes first. hz offset will be similiar to pre au
  18. sedan diffs will bolt in, ratios may differ between manual, auto, and wagons/pannos.
  19. the guys that raced the ke10's from the factory stated a 8500 redline iirc stock bottom end.
  20. if the bores line up with the head... then the crankshaft should line up with the bores, but then you could use the block from the donor head, and you end up with the motor you started with... i'm assuming you want a torque gain at the sacrifice of losing a few revs?
  21. there is a mad dude that has designed his own block and crank to sit under two superbike twin cam heads, you've probably seen it, makes a v8 with 2.4 or 2.6l capacity with a rev range of something spastic like 12000 rpm. I'll have to google it again to be sure. well worth the effort.
  22. chuck a location up to help with us working out who is local to you to. I have some wheels you may be intereste in in Melb east suburbs. 14x7 ma61 wheels. dave
  23. Go to a multi level carpark after hours. good light, good surface and undercover. usually nobody hassles you...
  24. makes sense to me...
  25. where on the body was it? was it on the firewall where the typical body number is? also what's your location? do you have any pics of the car in question? and finally, I have a ke10 if you're interested. :) -Dave
