is the bit at the bottom the same where the circlip holds it into the housing? ie undo the circlip on your shifter and put the t50 one in?

with the voting side of things, how will you know which post we're voting for? for example if you vote carbonboy's post, are you rating all the posts he's listed, or can you single out one? sorry to make it complicated...

yeah, i'm a collector too. I take it to the next level though, drilling out the rivets and chucking mags on and respraying them... I like my jap nostalgics, so lots of datsun 510's, and corollas when i can get them. i have a couple of photos in my album in my user profile

Tried ringing him before posting up this sort of stuff? his phone number is in his for sale ads. as far as i know, he does own those cars and he is an avid collector. his reasons are his own as to why he's selling them and he hasn't had much computer experience. If you want to know how my dealings go with him, Pm me and i'll be happy to go through it with you. -Dave

brian sampson still races in the formula 3 historic series every so often, you may be able to catch up with him at sandown in november, or i believe he is still affilliated with the company speco meter. if you google him, you should be able to find a way to get in contact with him. all the best. -dave

it's a Thursday, so unless everyone can get friday off too... it's only going to be an overnighter. most likely more driving, less bacon. ;) -dave -

http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/54993-gor-2012-great-ocean-road-discussion-thread/ Hi Neighbours of SA, I have started a discussion thread for people to show interest in a GOR for 2012, link above. please post in it if you would like to express interest in attending. this thread is for South Australians to discuss anything GOR related between themselves to encourage others to attend etc. if you have anything to suggest or wish to help out with organising this trip, PM me anytime. Regards, Dave

Hi All past and future GOR participants. Jan 2012 is approaching rapidly, and this trip needs to be sorted pretty quickly if it is going to happen at all. last year's overnight trip was fantastic, Big shoutout to Jared and Mel for organising a fantastic trip. unfortunately they are unable to organise 2012 due to having a baby and other commitments, so.... I would like to make a call out for volunteers who are able to help out with putting together a trip like this. For those who haven't attended a GOR before, the basic gist is a weekend of driving some of the best roads in Victoria (Australia even) and hanging out with some fellow rollaclub members, and showing some good old Aussie spirit as it's usually around the Australia day holiday. being this late in the year, and having some trouble with accomodation last year, I don't know what our options are, so if anyone has any suggestions that they have researched, please pass them on to me via pm. Otherwise, feel free to post constructive comments in this thread, or even just post to say you're interested in going so I can get an idea of numbers. please vote which weekend you would like the event to be on and your preffered accomodation style. (please don't vote if you don't intend to go ;) ) Anything i've forgotten, please post it or pm me and i'll edit this post. -Dave

3T-C Mikuni Solex Twins Major Internal Issues

don't f@$k with the carbies until you get the compression problem sorted. you will only need to rectify things again afterwards... -
3T-C Mikuni Solex Twins Major Internal Issues
TE278U replied to t18drifts's topic in General Mechanical
I recently blew a head gasket on a 2tg. ran and drove like ass, did a compression test, and got similiar results in 3 and 4 cylinder. took the head off, and the gasket had blown between 3 and 4. not surprising really... anywho... put a new gasket on, torqued head yadda yadda, and now she's running like a dream. didn't have to play with carbies or anything. if you're sticking to a budget, i'd suggest chucking a new headgasket on the pushrod motor and seeing if you can get it going before worrying about finding a 'g' head and putting it on. (another good option would be to buy a complete running 2t/3tg and drop that in, but expect to pay 1500 for a rebuilt one with some good bits in it.) -
Hey Pete, if you do the 4age conversion, I would be interested in the T motor out of it. nice project, can't wait to see it at coffee cars and donuts next month ;) (edit: I should add i have a t-18 i'm wrecking, so if you want a spare steering box to swap that might work better than the one thats in it, let me know)

it's not always about the width difference as much as the shape of the wheel as well. some wheels are easier than others to stretch, depends on the depth and duration of the drop down.
