do you want to do skids or run down the quarter mile??? to save the axles when drifting/burnouts, use shitty tyres traction will be the weakest link not your axles... for max grip, upgrade the diff. simple.

X-member Compatibility. Someone Must Know...maybe
TE278U replied to TE278U's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
sweet, i've been looking on club-k and couldn't get this link to work, thanks mate. the whole r/p steering seems complicated when i read the conversion into ta22 thread on here... i would have thought it would be a sweet bolt up job no probs... oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. thanks again -
would it be too much too ask for some pictures??????

what are the chances one of our kiwi brothers or sisters , or those lucky enough to have encountered early starlets could tell me is a KPxx STARLET crossmember interchangeable with a KExx SERIES COROLLA??? or failing anyone having the experience in this matter, could someone measure the distance between the rails on a KPxx starlet for me. this would be of much assistance, and if it works, i will let you know my plan. cos i'm sure you're all thinking wtf... k motor to k motor??? thanks for looking -dave

Changing Shocks/springs In A Macpherson Strut
TE278U replied to Killswitch's topic in General Mechanical
spring compressors are only needed for people who aren't creative... no offense pls peoples. your car is one massive spring compressor, so if you undo the nyloc nut at the top of your strut before you even jack the car up, the weight of the car will help you undo the nut, and once nut is removed, the shocker will slip through the upper mount as you jack the car up. once the car is up, the strut will be a little easier to remove without having the spring captive. that's my idea... also winding the coil down the strut can alleviate pressure before undoing the top nut. see post:http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=22467 refer to coilunders photo... tip 2 relates to removing strut without undoing brake lines. with wheel removed from strut, you should be able to put a hacksaw slot in the tab that is welded on the strut body to hold the flexible brake line in place. once you've cut through one side, you can twist the tab so the flex line will slip thru without damage. to reinstall, bend the tab back straight, and put the little clip back in. voila. . -
There's a 16, and a 38. well spotted. i've whored the galleries a little with some of my cars... a few months ago i got rid of my 26 wagons too. heaps of fun  ke16 is for sale, but with minor damage... major damage??? it's fixable :P: -dave

coilunders.... refer : http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=22467 not serious.... do not do this.... your car will disobey all input, crash into a family of ducks crossing the road, and you will kill them all and feel sad. then your car will explode in flames and you will die, after feeling sad. that would suck. . . . . .

ae wagon and ke sedan are very rusty so will probably never see the road again unless someone makes an offer i can't refuse... and has a lot of time to fix rust. t-18 may accept a transplant of a 2/3tg hybrid with twin solex's and do some track time. ae71 will be regoed as soon as i get my license back in december. fairly clean, no major rust, tan interior ftl. -dave

TE278U replied to Bowler's topic in VIC / Melbourne
black spur is a major hotspot at the moment for cops. not that that will worry any of us  my 2c. but a nice drive nonetheless. roll on. -
today i was out surveying my collection of toyota, and i noticed something quite coincidental... after last weekend, when i picked up bigtai's old ke70, i now have four white variants of E7x corolla's here they are.. anyone care to add to my collection??? white xE70 2dr sedan perhaps??? white xE7x panelvan??? -dave

a bit of a scrub certainly helped the paintwork gleam. shame about all the rust tho. this gives you a before and after idea.
-
bumpstops have the two lower rings cut off. about 50mm off. i don't know if they're still effective tho. this was purely for shits and giggles. it worked. *shits and giggles simultaneously* :)

^LOTS of wheelspin :) :) :(  :D two are genuine watanabe rs8 two are copy's. 13 x 7.5 rear 13 x 7 front 155/65/13 falken tyres all round. some ridiculous offset ;)
-
yeah, at the time i couldn't be arsed taking the spring out, so i just wound it down the strut as far as it would go. i cut about 50mm off the rear bumpstops too. so that's why it's a little imbalanced. but i love it a heap. -dave
-
It's not the mods that help with license loss... it's how you drive the arse off it that does it :) .
-
i have no spares at all sorry. ke30 maybe. but def no ke2x

put some 3mm thick washers under the seat but above the rails on the rail closest to the door. this will tilt your seat away from the b pillar enough without being uncomfortable to sit in. .
