  1. this seems to be a problem on here with some new members. it's very nice that there are people that go to the effort of posting up a reply considering the original poster couldn't be bothered searching a forum... have a think about it before posting up a question that you could probably find the answer for yourself... oh, and nice thread hijack by the way... *end rant* -dave
  2. alright guys, i'm throwing this out to you, but as of yesterday i'm a new recruit to the TCCAV. how many other melbourne boys and girls can we round up to join? have a go at entry level motorsport, get a permit for that spare classic car that doesn't get used much, and meet some more like minded enthusiasts... highly reccomended. -dave
  3. i approve of the rims :P nice work as always. -dave
  4. awesome. i know why you're so keen to take me home... :P i appreciate the offer, and will make it worth your while :P -dave
  5. yep, exactly like that. fittings aren't too important... just showy. you could use a ghetto style plastic coke bottle with a hole in the lid and a bit of vacuum hose poking into it from the rocker cover. then just take the hose out and pour the oil back into the motor when it's full. (if oil looks ok still.) attach it with a hose clamp then you can take it off easy enough. -dave
  6. if you don't want it going back thru your air cleaner, you can make up an oil catch can. it catches the oil that is airborne that gets pushed out of the rocker cover. make it easy to empty, because from the sounds of things it'll be filling pretty quickly. -dave
  7. i also like the license plate surround that says 'the first noel' very appropriate :P -dave
  8. hi noel, welcome to rollaclub. just a random question... do you know PJ Bonifacio? he is also in california and has a mad ae86. it is RHD also, and sports similiar license plates to yours. currently running a 3sgte. if not, i highly reccomend looking him up. PJ Bonifacio Body Works. :P -dave
  9. i want to see them without headrests too.. tombstone style. they would look cool, but aren't safe if you're in an accident. bummer.
  10. don't you know... it was a dyno run :P .
  11. good to know. thanks for going to the trouble, mate. i will try to be there either way. -dave
  12. man those seats look good. do they fit well widthwise? i;m gonna have to chuck some in my ke25 and maybe throw some seatcovers over them. good stuff. -dave
  13. in perth i would say yes. in melb i drove my ae71 with a blown head gasket for three weeks without a radiator at all. short trips only, was a hell tough car. shroud will help your engine fan draw air throught the radiator at slow speeds like in trraffic. maybe you'd be better reading up on thermofans and fitting a cheap secondhand one that comes with a shroud. uses less horsepower, and cools more efficiently, and only when needed. -dave
  14. zzzzzzzzzzzzz sounds boring stu..., r u sure you don't want to come? just kidding, i can't wait to see the updates. get stuck into it and bring it along completed :y:  see you on the next one... -dave
  15. yep, had no probs with mine for a few years now. just make sure both sets of nuts are tight  do a quick search and you should find another thread on this same topic that should give you some more people's opinions and replies. -dave
  16. very nice rig. it looks like a great starting point for a 'resto' mod project. plenty of parts are kickin round, scour the for sales, and post up a couple of wanted ads in the wanted section... where about was the gum tree you found this under? i'm in melbourne. i look forward to seeing more progress on this car. -dave
  17. ok, sweet. i'll let you know if i'm coming. thanks mate
  18. yep, i almost got done by this guy as corolla75deluxe. ridiculous shipping quote after bidding on an item he assured would be about 40 euro shipping. after winning the auction, he tried to charge 400 euros shipping. i had to leave good feedback or he would leave bad for me... sorry folks. he is no good. thanks for the heads up parrot... -dave
  19. i just got my high risk license too, i'm gonna try to use it when i get pulled over for drifting... "sorry officer, i have a license to perform high risk work..." "oh... sorry to have bothered you, carry on."
  20. good call, plenty of notice :y: i'm gonna try to get there this time. location again? i know it's in the first post, but for those who won't look... btw is it near a station ? still walking these days... -dave
