  1. this was a question i was wanting to ask too... but i think mine is a t40? mines the stock 4 speed... low kms (80k kms)
  2. f@$kING JEALOUS very nice mate
  3. lookin very very nice man!
  4. the thing is with most chrome polishes, they don't have a protective component, after you have used autosol or brasso or a rubbing compound, hit them with a coat of wax, and that should prevent the rust from coming back up as quick
  5. well i had a wheel alignment just then, and turns out the guy was a toyota nut, he wouldnt bloody let me leave! the tailshaft is in excellent condition, but he said the clutch is defintely causing the take of shudder, but he can't make sense of the under load vibration on take off...
  6. Hey all, Was hoping for some help from the pro's Ive been noticing a few different noises in the KE70. 1) When i take off under any load, so anything other than an absolute granny take off, i get a lot of shuddering. My initial thought is that it is the clutch plate. I do get a bit of slip when doing hard shifts - thoughts? 2) When i engage the clutch, i get a clunking sound from the rear of the car, I'm thinking either uni or Diff... any thoughts? 3) The car vibrates a bit under load too... its not a wheel issue even though i don't know the last time the 95yo previous owner balanced them, i'm familiar with that kind of vibration, this feels as though the tailshaft isnt spinning true. Is it possible for a tailshaft to bow? or could this be the issue of the clutch, or perhaps a diff. Fellas it's been over 10 years since ive owned a rear wheel drive car, so be nice, I'm just trying to familiarise myself with these cars as much as possible, any help is much appreciated. Kalen
  7. yep now that the motor wont even tyurn over, give the starter motor a couple of bangs
  8. the concept you need to familiarise with here is that the motor is turning over, so the starter motor and battery are doing their jobs, however the motor wont fire up; the fuel being poored in wont ignite. So my bet is check you ignition system as Budowski said above... leads, dizzy, points, sparkies, coil.
  9. mate you are a legend, thank you very much can you give me the same sort of detail for the gearbox fluid?
  10. Obviously there are two holes yes? sorry ive never replaced the oil in a diff before, never had a rwd car. Should i dump the oil hot or cold?
  11. Hey all, I'm planning to do a fluid change for the diff and gearbox on my rolla... i don't quite have a manual yet, so i was wondering if anyone know if its a straight forward procedue? Do i dump the gearbox oil, where do i fill it back up from? and do i fill it just until the level is at the filler hole? and the diff? where do i dump and fill the oil from, and where do i fill it too? Any recommendations on appropriate oils or thoughts at all? its only got just on 80,000kms on it so for me its just maintaining these parts, don't particularly need performance because it's all stock thanks fellas
  12. how easy would such a conversion be?

that is just so rude! I love it
  14. Just so you know dude, the carby comes with all the jets you may need... its in the little red bax in the photo :-)

absolutely amazing man, it gets colder than my other car which is 17 years newer!
  16. So overal performance SHOULD improve though, at the expense of granny drivability correct? even the stickies say this is the appropriate upgrade once jetted properly...
  17. the F20c will cost you the best part of 10K to buy... you can try a B18 but that a reverse spinning motor and made fo east west... The gearboxes behind the F20c are quite robust, the bits that break are the diffs and axles from abuse.
  18. so is it not possible to put the appropriate jet in the weber to ensure it doesnt run rich... are you saying ot cannot ever be tuned to run right? ive read around the place that you get bogging and flat spots.
  19. Hey mate, Thanks a LOT for the awesome information, and most of all for replying, doesnt seem to be rep points on this site, i'd add some if i could. I actually brought a brand new in the box redline weber, so it comes with all of the jets included (got it all for a STEAL), so in terms of experimentation i should be able to do all of that, if it's easy enough to do. The only issue is i don't have access to a welder so i may need to improvise somehow. I know very little about carbs and setting them up... so was it hard to set up the mixtures and all that sort of stuff? i would presume that the kit i have brought has some sort of diagram to tell me where everything is... I'm also interested to find out if it affected your fuel consumption and or performance? I'm leaving the car stock for the moment otherwise Cheers mate
  20. thanks, i think i was searching for intake manifold instead of adapter plate on Ebay. Interested to see who has done this before and the challenges you face with it... and where i buy the appropriate jets from
  21. Hey fellas, Ive just bought a brand new Redline 32/36 weber carb from eGay, brand new in the box originally to suit a Honda motor... What i want to know, is where i can source an adaptor plate to suit, and just some thoughts from anyone here who has done it before, i think itt is a electric choke from the research ive done... Anyone who has done this before, can you chime in with some thoughts or info on How to, or what to look out for? Thanks fellas

i think i might just do that mate! thanks... i think the bumpers have had a knock or two, the reo underneath may be slightly bent so when i have the time i'll whip them off and see if theres something i can do
  23. :-) think 9000rpm out of the box!!!
  24. I'm just in the process of purchasing a brand new 32/36 that was to suit a Honda motor... however I'm going to need an adaptor plate to suit my 4K... any thoughts on whether it makes a difference without an exhaust, i don't want the car to be loud

fellas, I'm in Sydney, LOL everyone that see's in freaks out! the exterior has a couple of bit thats need work, and the bumpers are a bit warped from a couple of hits, but the interior is f@$king amazing if i may say so myself... dunno what I'm gonna do with it... how much you reckon it's worth?
