so the wires are off the sender? in the tank yeh??
-
the process of elimination i used was to check if there was fuel coming into the carby, which it wasnt, then the line from the pump to the carby, there was but nowhere near the required pressure
-
is the sender what triggers the fuel warnign light as well? so are bother systems (gauge/warning) one and the same?
-
Hey fellas, Over the last couple of fillups, ive noticed with a full tank the fuel gauge is about 3 mills under the full line... SO i have a couple of questions 1) Is it something i can adjust or fix? any ideas? 2) Does the fuel light become engaged through a sensor in the tank, or based on where the fuel light sits? Cheers

hmmm yeh sorry, its a KE70... the pump was the suit the KE70 4k. Does the fact that it doesnt have one present an issue? do i just block the return line?
-
Hey fellas, My fuel pump gave in on Saturday... so after much running around on the side of the road in the heat on Paramatta road, i got the new part, but it didnt have a return? Obviously there is no issue with this, but why would they discountinue it... ive just got a screw sitting in the return line right now is that ok?

i suppose the thing that makes me lean too battery is that last night it wouldnt start, then i jumped it and it started fine... no other changes to anything, but you do make some very valid points

Hey fellas, Over the last month ive been noticing that once in a while the car doesn't start easily, and struggles to turn over indicating battery charge issues.... it happens at random times, not just when it hasn't been driven in a while. It gets probably at the most 50kms a week drive time, and most of the time it gets cruised very gently (i'm in fuel miser mode)... tonight as i went to leave the house it barely started, and i hit traffic, where it was basically idling for 15 minutes in stop start very slow traffic... i went to start it 4 hours later and it would barely turn over, and didn't start. I jumped it and it started fine. Gave it a spirited drive home to get some charge in the battery and its fine now... I have also noticed its a tiny battery, smaller than the cradle, is this normal? Is my battery shot, and the fact that I'm not really putting the boot into it at all, not getting enough charge in the battery to last? or is the battery just not holding charge. i realise these are vague questions which could be eliminated by getting the appropriate tests, but I'm after some opinions and logic before i go and buy a new battery tommorrow... Cheers

Heres a bit of an update on some work ive done since i bought the car... Just gave the motor a good degrease, ive run out of time, i still have to detail it now... but it came up very nice I had to replace the front end as the grill was cracked and the front left light was bashed in, the old lady bumped into her garage parking it :-) Anyway i ended up replacing the whole front end... i still gotta take that bumper off and see if i can fix the reo underneath to get rid of the bends in the bumper And just a quick one from the side.... Can anyone tell me what this feature is for? theres obviously a valve in there, but what does it do?
-
Hey cam, care to share som info into how you wired it? ive got an old tacho sitting at home and i lost the wiring instructions for so I'm not sure how to do it

Hey all, I'm restoring my KE70, and i wanted to know if they came with mudlfaps from the factory on all four corners... i got one rear and the other side is broken, did it have front ones like the rears, or were they the smaller more streamline ones? Any gurus out there? maybe with pics? Cheers Kalen

i did the quick, aguably dodgy way for this precise are of my KE70 just yesterday, but then i didnt have much rust at all... a wirte brush, rusk killer, BIT of bog, primer then topcoat... i got rid of all the rust, i reckon it should be good for a fair few years now

Hey all, The immaculate dash on my KE70 has started developing a bubble on the passenger side where it creasing into the pad... the old owner has it garages all its life since new, i have to leave it on the street unfortuntealy... i do put a widnow shade in when its outside to stop the sun from damaging it... but the bubbles are still coming up... does anyone have any ideas on how to stop it from spreading, and pushing it back down?
