  1. Good paint and some sweet rims and like all other Rollas, they look quite good. :)
  2. Checked out the booklets from the glove box. What a little gold mine, it contains the service history, reg history and ownership history. The only thing it doesn't have is the original price. It will soon be back on the road, just got to source a few parts and the love will continue. :)
  3. Is there a Bosch brand dizzy that will fit a 3Tc engine?
  4. Yeah... no thanks...Roofs ar better. I don't see how selling parts will help get it finished :hmm: But if you're after side lights, i believe they are the same as KE7*'s All the work is in the roof, everything else is just plug and play. The plan is to eventually hunt down another roof and do a transplant.... Maybe galss one up.... nice and easy :D
  5. Thats one nice ride. I've never seen one of those before. nice find indeed. :)
  6. Yes i'm letting go of the KE70 project, its just too much work and too much rust. PLUS I love the rarer cars... Datsun VB10, 200B SSS coupe (both are in progress also) and now the TE72.
  7. A few doors up from where I work is a guy that collects cars for scrap. Everyday when i go pass i check out what he has... on Thursday morning i noticed what looked to be a KE70, so i stopped in, at closer inspection it turned out to be a TE72. Unfortunatley he had stacked another car on top of it and caved a roof a little, pushing the front rail down 3 inches, pulling the side rails in an inch and smashing the windscreen. It has minimal rust, the interia is in good condition and the car is completley unmolested. I had a bigger, heavier old shitter that needed removal so we did a straight swap. :) POO BROWN Porn interia Roof after initial correction. No mods planned as yet, just gotta get it roading first. First thngs first, get the roof schminty, replace tyres, drivers seat belt, bonnet and windscreen.... oh and a good tidy up.
  8. can someone get me the inside messurment from the top of the RH "A" pilla to the top if the LH "A". Messurement needs to be just before the radious begins. Cheers
  9. yeah it does sound like a pain in the arse. I was under the impression that 3T's were a little hard to come by how ver if i can find one i'm all for it... if not .... :)
  10. My new TE72 needs some lovage in the engine department so i am hoping to run another engine (and box) will i clean up the 3Tc... all temp of course. does anyone know what needs to be done for the swap eg: crossmembers, tail shaft and what not Cheers :)
  11. DO IT!!!!! its full G-Spec :)
  12. About time for an update. Finally a weekend of good weather. most of the fiddley bits are ptached up... its takes ages making intricate sections. Sonn the rust will be gone... thens its paint and rego :)
  13. Awesome and awesome... cheers guys :)
  14. Thats the purpose of this thread :bash: Start with KE70's - beaver and rear quarters. Then any model, try revive some of these machine back to clean status. :y: Allcrash site???? can't find it. :( "4 Matching Products" .... Maybe i'm looking in the wrong spot :bash: As stated earlier, either NOS or replica... any type. :) Making a replica panel fit is still better/easier than fabricating the panels by hand which i'm currently doing. :y:
  15. Does anyone know if there are NOS Corolla panels still available? Given the popularity of these beatifull 4 bangers, there must be someone, somewhere, still pressing panels... or maybe some NOSies floating about. :bash:
  16. Top gear is brillaint. Plus a bit of trivia... Top gear first aired on TV in 1977. :P
  17. I just taught my partner in crime to drive stick, she picked it up very quick. No roo hopping, just stalled it a few times. Trick is to not be affraid of riding the clutch a bit than normal while learning and most importantly, keep the revs UP. Don't be shy to rev a little too high, you'll quickly get the revs right and all will be sweet. :P
  18. Toyota TRD HiLux... 225kw V6..... 2.5 ton 4WD :yak: 4WD + Sports get-up = protentious wanker driver. :)
  19. 4K is an amazing little banger... so realable and cheap to run. Corollas, like most Jap cars, have a cool charm about them. Always liked them. When i first got into them they were CRAZY CHEAP, rust free and un-molested. Got a few MoPars.. but they are way too exspensive. Got a few Datsun... but if you don't own a 1600, expect to be ignored. Most Rolla fans are welcoming regardless of what Rolla you own. :)
  20. Do share :)
  21. Great post And we can all relate i'm sure. :)
  22. Sure if the mod is a bolt on or a non-distructive alteration and its done properly, go for your life. Though there is usually 1 main difference between a machanic and most backyarders.... EXPERIENCE! :) I'm talking about people that believe bending your gaurds out with a newspaper, or rolling the lip with pliers, or cutting Ford springs and all that completre dogdey shit. This prooves that people don't think highly of the value of Corollas! And then there are the people that think a dry, thrashed 5 speed box adds value.... if its smegged, its worthless.
  23. I never specified mods or admins. The use of the word "ban" was not to imply that the mods or admin are the people that would get upset, merely a Kalua induced expressive exagiration. Bargaining is quite fair but when someone is trying to sell you a thrashed bucket of rust for $1500 - $2000, good luck "bargaining" them down to, or even close to a realistic and reasonable price. I have been walking.. ALOT! OK say i'm new to Rollas and i would like to own 1.... google search Corolla forum and we find .... Rollaclub.com.... So now i'm seeing that people want $1200 + for run down vehicles. According to you thats the best way to an accurate value of a car... WRONG! The fact is forum almost always have grossly inflated prices as its a place were a great number of potential buyers congregate. The higher the consentration of desired demagraph the higher the competition and therefore the faster the inflation. Forums are a convenient place to look but they don't truely reflect the current market value. By the way naivity is simpley the result of lake of experience... being new to something in not an issue of "fault" :)
  24. Its everyone. Sure the sellers wouldn't ask stupid prices if they were'nt going to get the money, still its no justification for ripping people off. I've had people tell me how little they've paid for their car, then they've tried to sell it for 4 times what it costs them... their reasoning is becuase they've done dodgey mods and put it some 6x9's! Mind you they've also flogged the shit out of it and "fixed" the rust with bog. That plain greedy as well as stupid. Sure the buyers are NIEVE to believe the prices are fair, if they are new to the game, they wont know any better... it doesn't make them stupid, it just makes them unknowledgable. However if they read this article and they still hand over 4 digits for rust, then are beyond stupid. The buyer does have a significant potential control over the market but they don't know it. This is a forum, a COMMUNITY of fellow Rolla lovers, we should be looking after each other not smegin each other over. I have, i'm just yet to post it. I'll probably get banned for upsetting those who have paid to much for there Rollas and would like to get that money back and the greedy people that are selling or intend on selling for a tidy profit.
  25. The problem is people aren't asking $2000 for a good clean example with reg and roady, they are asking it for rusty, thrashed buckets. KE70 is a 4 door small car... and to some a great looking car. it is NOT a presteige car, a sports car a performance car (unless profesionally modded) a collectable car a rare car .... If it were any of these things, people wouldn't be molesting them in great numbers. The problem is not just the sellers, its the buyers... clearly they have NO idea on how to value a car. Firsty, these cars were a great car to buy at a good BUT that mindset has stuck even after the price has risen beyond a good price. Secondly they don't know the true cost of returning a car back to actual good condition. They don't factor in the potential cost of repairs into the price of the car. "If you want to devalue your car when you come to sell it" .... I got my car for $400 All the work done on it is by a proffesional.. no corners cut. It is being properly rust treated to prevent any future rust. It not driven by a car trashing P plater. Its not modded by a hack. All i've done is add value to it... and its all honest value... some thing most can't boast. "but don't make life hard for other corolla owners." Yet greedy people are more than welcome to to make it hard for potential Rolla owners by asking 4 digits for rusty bricks with torn seats, thrashed engines and half assed unroadworthy mods.
