yeah we deal with laser cutters thru work so i'll see if i can get it done thru work. its more like 4 flanges, 1 for the dump, 1 for the turbine inlet, 1 for the oil supply and 1 for the coolant. so if i can't get them laser cut i'll get them CNC machined at tech skool. i kno they can be mild steel so it makes it easy, do u recomend a certain thickness? i was lookin at bout 1/2in thick and the thread on the studs doesnt go down enough for a flange to be much thinner. NICE. love the fact from the outside it looks bod stock. any idea how much it all cost?? CHEERS Ryan
-
Damn them defects there every where. there should be enough room under th arse end of a 25 to go over the diff, hopefully. CHEERS Ryan

i wasnt talkin bout sizes for a turb 1.6 just what id be doin. and bout legalities i'll dump it before the diff and keep the original muffler pointin out the back to make it look stock. CHEERS Ryan

$1.50 A LITREeventually we'll be able to tell whos rich and who does servo drive off by looking at whos on the road :hmm: but seriously it'll be this price for around 2 weeks :D someones really gonna be makin money, i want some :hmm: CHEERS Ryan

yeah there are the fast ones and the hunka junkas, just like any model of car. CHEERS Ryan -
yea mate, looks like i'll be doing the manifold like that then. saves alot of hassle. thanks for ur input, greatly appreciated. (taz rx) where did u get your turbo flanges from? the turbo i got doesnt have any at all. if i can't find and i'll mill some nice thick ones up. and KE ping it real, i had a look at that before but its a bit much for my budget keep in mind i only paid 200 for the car, i'll probably do what taz did and convert a hi-lux airfilter box. but thanks for the offer anyways. CHEERS Ryan

well they don't lock up or anythin just that the left rear drum is leakin i lil and the front right disc or caliper make a weird noise sometimes and a little bit when I'm goin round right hand corners, might be the wheel bearing. but anyway wrong section to be talkin bout this, back to cruisin. CHEERS Ryan

yeah thats where i wanna mount it, being a ke25 theres free space there anyway so i wont have to relocate the battery like some people have to with later model rollas. i might try Paramount Browns on cavan road for the steam pipe, plus where i work i can get discount for things i buy at paramount. I'll be doing all of the fabrication work at tech school so i'll have all the stuff i need. so does mig welding the headers while heating it up with an oxy torch sound like the way to do it? CHEERS Ryan

i got the late model grill on the rolla tonight all i had to do is make up new mounts as the early grille mounts were about an inch out. the only thing is that the bonnet just touches the center of the later grill. I think it looks aiight now and i put the headlight surrounds from the early grill aswell and as the later grill sits further out it removesthe bugeye look that the early grill and surounds have. all up I'm happy in the swap, not a straigh over swap but it will fit. might be able to get a pic of the front. are the early grills uncommon?? CHEERS Ryan

dam good find, wish my 25 was that straight body wise but hey, i paid 200 for it whaddaya expect. looks real good in that colour with them hot wires on. i might put my put my mates hotwires on cus I'm tired of my 14" 'rona wheels scrubbing every time I'm at full lock. haha. CHEERS Ryan

OK had a decent look at the space where i wanna mount the turbo and theres NO way I'm gonna fit where i was thinking. So what i'll boe doing is cutting up a stock manifold and weld it to a length of mild steel exhaust pipe (possibly steam pipe if i can find some) and bend it up so the turbo is mounted in the space on the passenger side opposite to where the battery is on the drivers side. this should make fabricting a turbo dump and manifolds easier. any ideas where to get cheap or possibly scrap steam pipe in adelaide?? CHEERS Ryan

jsut do what i'll be doing when i set the turbo up, straight 2.25" from the turbo dump thru a single muffler and dump it before the diff or out the side infront of the rear wheel. CHEERS Ryan

hi guys, will try to make it to this as it will be my first cruise and wanna see what adelaide has in the way of corollas plus its a good excuse to get out on a satdee night. just hope my brakes don't screw up. CHEERS Ryan

has anybody tried swapping and early model KE25 steel grille for a later model plastic one? I swapped mine over and just letting people kno that the mounts on the body don't match up with the mounts on the grille as theyre out by about an inch each side. atm mine just using the center support and the two metal tabs from the lower apron. will make and fit new mounts hopefully tomorrow. also does anybody have problems with the bonnet hitting the top of the later model grille? have been told that the early model metal grilles are fairly uncommon, can someone verify this? so at the moment the grille isnt for sale if you were gonna ask. Yeah, what he said. Also do theyh bolt up to the KE1X - KE2X 4X110pcd?

:) ;) :P :sob: PLEEEEEZE don't tease me :sob: :sob: :sob: YEAH wait till 3k turbo then eventually 4k turbo, will beat anything* on the road** *anything meaning excels, beetles, shopping trolleys and POSSIBLY :hmm: adelaide metro busses. **road meaning carpark. -
was just mainly wondering if anybody on here had done it before or if it could be done. yeah most of all it comes done to time and money as scott said, scott being the example of stickin big things in little places (engines and engine bays). but it was only an idea when i first got the rolla to stick one in but for now toying round with turbos is enough for me. Also being on first year apprentice wages don't help the money side of owning 2 cars. CHEERS Ryan

So if I understand right, blocking off the external vent would be the only thing id have to do to mod it for boost, apart from makin a boost sealed enclosure for it. Sweetness, 6-8psi should be aiight for a stocky. If i wanna quicker death for the old 1200 i'll put in a cheap airvalve and turn the the bost RIGHT up, keeping in mind the CT12a has a ceramic turbine wheel so that will limit max boost CHEERS Ryan

HAZZZA, i finally found a photo. this pics from the USof A I think as the master cylinder is on the LH side. but still it looks like it fits without havign to mod the firewall or radiator. PLUS a turbo whacked on for good luck. still to much work for a daily driver, anyways a turbo 3k on the way.

yeah have read it b4 all i really need to kno is; what psi the factory CT12A wastegate opens; what carb will be the best with MINIMAL mods and how long people think a fully stock 3k (apart from 4k head) will last, keep in mind i drive it hard. Also Rad Rolla, your waiting tilll your off your P's, I'm about 2 months into mine haha. Keep in mind I'm in SA so no P plate restrictions. :hmm: CHEERS Ryan

yeah i don't really mind if i have to cruise upto a meet point alone cus i don't really drive in a group that much*. but yea meeting in smaller groups first sorta give you a bit more of an oppertunity to meet people and have a geez at others cars in a smaller group. *maybe they can't keep up, hmm 3k power....maybe i can't keep up?. haha CHEERS Ryan -
ok, when you pull the spring out of the oil pump there should be a little cup where the spring locates. find something like a washer that sits in the spring cup, about 3mm as suggested by the faq. the idea of this it closing the distance between each end of the spring, when you do this it puts the spring under more compression and raising the pressure applied to the oil pump bypass. l the more force keeping the bypasss shut mean more oil pressure to open it and BAM, theres your higher oil pressure. u may or may not kno this but i put the info up for the others that may not kno. hi, I bought a KE25 not that long ago and am now startin to get the modifing bug. I just bought a Toyota CT12A turbo (thanks Chumps) and am now going throught the proccess of figuring out how everything will go. I scouted out a few different ways of doing it and ive taken a liking to a setup seen on a Datsun. My main toss up is where i will position the turbo but the design on the Datto used stock manifold cut off about 4in away from the head and a section of square RHS welded to the end with a home made flange welded on, It did look very barbarick but as i have access to most of the tools and equipment needed it should look 100 times better. this above setup positions the turbo partly under the inlet manifold and with the turbo inlet facing the firewall, compressor outlet facing up wards, the tubine inlet facing toward the block and the turbine dump facing forwards. the turbine dump and wastegate pipe will double back under the turbo and mainfolds and follow the same route as a stock exhaust and the compressed air travels straight up and a couple of bends directly into the top of the carb. with the turbo in that position the inlet maniflod should cover most of it and a stock airfilter bonnet could be used to hide the turbo to carb piping just incase the po-po cop a look :abuse: i can do all of the above work myself but need a few pointers. at what psi does the factory CT12A wastegate open; which carb will be the best option for the above pressure with minimal modifications. Also how long could stock std 3k internals hold up with being turbocharged (3k already had a 4k head when i bought it,so decomp is one less thing to worry bout). Id like to see how long it can cope with being tuboed and if i blow it up i hav a 4k lined up so everything will bolt straight back on. As you can see ive done the research and am not askin for people to tell me how to do it, just some pointers and advice if youve previously turboed a k engine. critisism and comments are always welcome. CHEERS Ryan
