  1. +1 for the original FW bolts being 17mm. When i took the FW off of my 3k crank i looked at the bolt heads closely( then soon after cut them off with a grinder) and they were way too big to be 14mm.
  2. As in the 30th? the Sunday after the Victo Harbour cruise?
  3. I bought a couple of window washer resivours and pumps intending to fit them in the boot and have them spray washing detergent onto the wheels (for use on a mates PRIVATE PROPETY) Wont dirty your car like oil/diesel. Back to the caltrac bars, does anyone know how far apart the you-bolts are on a ke30. I know the you-bolts themselves are 2.25 inches wide, but need to know how far they are apart so i can make the plates for the caltracs. (sorry, may be a tad off topic)
  4. Yea, will just use a 4k :jamie: Thought if i could use the block i have i would. but unless i build a 3k i can't. Had a suspicion the scalloping would be required but if i need to use other pistons i wont bother. thanks for the info Redwarf CHEERS Ryan
  5. Stuffing around includes what sorta "stuff"
  6. Yea, I'm happy to do it again. This time i can wash and polish it and the wheels. Also removed the black sticky shit from the old body trim and debadged it.
  7. Ive still got the auto diff in my 30 from when it was a 3k trimatic. the 30 then went to a 4k/ trimatic and is now a 4k/4spd. I'm either gonna get a 5spd and another auto diff or get another 4spd and get a manual diff. Lower diff ratio means quicker take offs.
  8. Hi people, Just a quick question. Might sound a lil silly, but here goes. Will a 4k crank go into a 3k block? pretty certain they have the same mains bearings size. Reason being, i have a 3k bare block here and want to know if i could use it for a 4k build. which will save me from buyin another block. Only thing in concerned about is the extra crank throw. CHEERS Ryan
  9. Think more along the lines of Hyundai. More specificaly Exel Edit: Imagine....That corolla. on that trailer behind it. being towed, by the falcoon its attached to. Backing into one of those trees in the far background
  10. Pics came out awesome. Cheers Mick.
  11. Yea, it will work. Had a mate running dual 12's off the 50x4 head unit. Id just wait till you can get the amp tho.
  12. I still reckon Semaphore would be awesome. great photo oppertunity with the sea in the background. Semaphore gets my vote
  13. A guy in a falcon (nuff said) had a Ke55 with a body kit on a trailer and backed the trailer into the tree, almost bent it paralell to the ground.
  14. I really wouldnt be keen for it if it was on a weekday. id probably have to come straight from work and I'm sure people wouldnt appreciate me smelling like an oily rag
  15. Did you ever stop to think a show and shine at Munno Para might be a bit out the way for people down south? Sure, it might be a 2 minute walk to your place but i know for me it was a 1hr+ drive home. I Reckon semaphore, would be wicked. Even a cruise to and thru the bay would be good if its not too out of the way for people.

    Spotted

Spotted a few yellow KE30's lately. Spotted one on the way home from the show and shine on sunday, he was heading north i was heading south. saw each other and stared as we went past each other. Also spotted a KE10? 11? on Manchester street, down from Villi's. Looked in pretty Av's condiditon. got potential

Was daily before latest buy 2 Ford Escort MkII Ghia. 2.0L auto....before you say anything, it was free. and if i had kept it longer i wouldnt have bought my 1st rolla 3 1971 KE25, 4k, 5spd SOLD 4 Holden HJ wagon, 3.3L inline 6 3spd auto. Had plans but was a POS in the end. SOLD 5 1978 KE30. 4K 4spd Current daily
  18. Lol, poor guy. Poor tree. Myles: your 30 sounded like the prime mover i pulled up next to today, except your 30 sounded more diesel-ish
  19. It was because my car is too good for keybangers hahaha, I enjoyed chasing seagulls tho :) Oh Oh Oh, and Alex's radiator cap. like OMG it had a lever on it, that was so exciting :)
  20. Nah, mate, still waiting to make the plates the go under the springs and have to sort out a forward mount aswel hang tight, they'll get done.... some time
  21. Exhaust, accounts for the blown out mufflers. I tried a few at the show and shine last night, and everybody saw me epicly fail. chasing seagulls in a ke30 seems to entertain people enough to forget about failing at keybangers tho :)
  22. Contradiction much?? Very well put. People have things such as work and family commitments. I almost though about not attending seeing as its a late event plus it'll take 1hr+ to get home and have an early start for work tomorrow. don't have a go at other people, at least they were prepared to come in the first place.
  23. One word....Patience. Just work through it, it'll all be worth it in the end.
  24. Hi all, Just thought id let you guys know KE25 KID is no longer with us. Due to my model change, my username has changed to SLO-030. Just lettin everyone know on the off chance you go looking for some of my threads. CHEERS Ryan
  25. I'm still good to go with this. the 30 is now equiped with beats so the drive out there wont be so boring. Also cruising up with the Southern Suburbs group.
