  1. is it getting petrol to the fuel rail? might be worth changing the fuel filter, fuel turns to a caramel like texture when it sits for a long time. just start with the basics, fuel, spark, check the dizzy cap isnt full of water/condensation maybe try some start ya bastard see if it runs on that
  2. i always use a rag works very well once you get the hang of it.
  3. nah i actually prefer the vl with a bumper, hides the cooler but i need to reweld the cold side of the pipe, no point putting the bumper on to take it off again when i grab the welder from work. I'm workin on rewelding the front bar bracket for the rolla aswell, love to see it with a chrome bar.
  4. just two pics i took earlier this morning, finally took my other car for a drive as its been sitting around for the last 4 months untouched. and here is a pic of them both just chillin
  5. Nice looking setup there, its pretty common for the CAs to spin bearings so no big suprises there. will be interested to see what it pulls on the dyno. Nothin wrong with running high comp my SR is 10:1, has been running with a turbo for nearly 3 years holds 145psi across all 4 cylinders. Of course you can't run silly boost through it but if paired with the right turbo its a response monster. it all comes down to the tune, worst case if it blows another n/a motor is cheap at the end of the day. i guess it comes down to what you want from the car.
  6. 1st gear burnouts are really aweful its much easier to play with the car in 2nd, try grabbing 3rd when doing one up a hill its crazy how little tyre you have after lol. The launches are looking very good what rpm are you letting it out at? also what reaction time?
  7. works the same way as the taps in the shower anti clockwise for more water clockwise for less
  8. put me down for this ones, if my diff is still alive when the day comes around ill be there.
  9. i second that, actually had high hopes before i clicked the link.
  10. just gonna take a guess but is the clutch fan stuffed? it should be easier to turn by hand with the engine off when its cold. at speed it shouldnt be working as the cars getting airflow, if it is the engine would be getting loaded up more. I'm guessing they are a viscous type someone correct me if I'm wrong
  11. damn wakefield in the wet :P should of borrowed my car. how fast were you going at the end of the straight? was it too easy to lock it up with the brake setup you have?
  12. far out! nice car mate. any internals changed in the engine? love how it hooks up in the video, how many diffs have u blown?
  13. :lolcry: damn looks like it would be a handful to drive. must confuse a few people when it starts coming on boost.
  14. only bad thing about charity cruises (don't get me wrong the idea is great) you get so many tossers driving shitboxes. I'm looking forward to the rolla only cruise :lolcry:
  15. mate havnt had a chance to do anything ive been working every saturday. if i get some time after work this weekend I'm gonna try do the dash the front bar I'm going to have to modify the bracket, one of my cooler pipes is in the way. nothing a welder can't fix. diff is holding on well, ive only been wet weather bashing it :P
  16. sound good andrew looking forward to the pictures. what kinda alternator is it? i remember hearing somewhere you can gut bosch internals from other cars/models and make them fit other bosch alternators. either way as long as its running :P
  17. :lmao: always a sad day when u realize its just not possible to hold on. look on the bright side its going to help you also.
  18. hold shit batman that things got some 4wd suspension
  19. finally get to see the car ha, too bad its not in the flesh tho. any news from the mechanic on the carbies? thank god for the donor car now i have a working diff again :lolcry: although it was making weird noises when i got home last night  really hope it can hold out for the cruise.
  20. Wow.. next time break everything down into neat paragraphs that hurt my head. What fuel pressure are you running? try get a gauge and see whats happening when it start breaking down. Did u keep the old dizzy cap? maybe change it over quickly see if it helps. Change both the cap n button? Is your fuel filter on the right way?
  21. the tailshaft ones are 8mm by 1.25 iirc.. find yourself a handful of random nuts + bolts and see which ones fit (without forcing them) easiest way
  22. Snapped an axle on the 3-5 Didnt get to repair it till the 14-5. Driving to work on the 15-5 i got about 10kms away from home when i felt a horrid vibration, turned around and at the start of my driveway it let go. Got it fixed that night with a bit hammer repairs on the tailshaft and a new uni. On my way to work on the 17-5 i managed to snap the other axle.. I think its time to get a new diff n think about an upgrade.. :y: Should have it fixed for the little cruise next month

  24. put me down for this cruise, should be nice to get the car out on the highway.
