Hi all you Perthites! I haven't forgotten my roots since temporarily relocating to the North for work... Anyone want to catch up for a bit of a meet/cruise/shed crash/movie night/coffee/or whatever... Also, anyone wanting to pilfer parts out of my shed, this will be the time to do it, as well as anyone just wanting to come gawk at the new toys I've accumulated. Anyways, i'll be flying in late on the 18th/19th morning, and aiming to be in town for 3 days, or 7 days, depending on if I sell my Hachi or not. Anyone free to catch up?

2Tgte 3Tgte 4Tgte 4Age 3Tc Turbo Or Super Charged
white_sandshoe replied to t18drifts's topic in Automotive Discussion
oh, for ease of setup with what you've got at the moment, grab a 3TGTE stock exhaust mani, fab up a oil spacer to tap feed lines into, hang a CT26 off it, and stick a SU carb in front... booya! draw through turbo! Just remember not to run an intercooler... don't want the petrol bomb effect of a draw through. And another fun thing is using a nice lumpy cam to drop the Dynamic Compression ratio instead of worrying about the Static Compression ;) -
2Tgte 3Tgte 4Tgte 4Age 3Tc Turbo Or Super Charged
white_sandshoe replied to t18drifts's topic in Automotive Discussion
Parts for the 3TGTE are NOT that hard to get hold of... I've got a friggin shed load of them... Probably enough to build at least two or three solid engines. What I don't have is the time to put them together. As for a T50 holding up behind one... They will... so long as you don't treat it like a dirty hippy and smash it around laughing hysterically. That said, high boost, and regular hard clutch dumps will kill it eventually, since it's got a does more torque than a 4AGE (even more than a silvertop... Same power, but more TORQUE!!!) And, the other fun part is, it's bolt in... Straight bolt up. Oh, if you did decide you HAVE to use a W box, keep the W55 out of the Celica/Corona, and bolt the front section of the tailshaft up to the rear section of an AE86 tailshaft, and voila! instant box conversion. Only thing you have to do to get it to fit in the bay is take to take a hammer to a particular point on the firewall, and "Massage" it to fit the slightly larger starter motor nose... only about an inch worth though. we struggled for traction and ran a 13.4 on 195 bob janes with that setup... Oh, I also have a full exhaust to suit a 3TGTE into T18... in case you decide you need one... ;) Without going too much into the details of 4AGE vs 3TGTE, i'd have to say, for ease of install, sourcing, modification and strength, I'll continue to stick with 3TGTE over 4AGE. -
Just an FYI, the scroll down location selection in the for sale section isn't displaying. I can't tell where cars are located and I'm looking to buy...

Aw bro! Not persevering with the commie anymore? I'm going through my head what's in my garage that's licensed, running, and I'd be ok to part with... Have you got anything particular in mind that you're after? Something else to build up?

Full Time Drift Car/Part Time Grip?
white_sandshoe replied to Istartfires's topic in Automotive Discussion
Ok, this is all the information you need... Basically, build your track car, but build it with BIG power... Then basically it comes down to how you pedal the car as to what it will do... On a track car you can go relatively stiff suspension anyway, and it may well come down to something as simple as tire width and pressures... For my 86, I run 205s for traction, but if i was to try drifting, i'd get a set of 195s or even 185s stretched onto a 7in rim... less tractive capabilities will make a HUGE difference in how it behaves. My suggestion would be Ksev, 4AGTE conversion and some VERY good suspension. But then it still comes down to budget... what can you afford to race? -
Ra60 Celica - Beams 3Sge + 5Sp Auto
white_sandshoe replied to 67Rolla-Ken's topic in Engine Conversions
Yes, and Liteace too, but the MA45 apparently has all the mount points in the right place... Tarago and Liteace will need mounts re-located and fabricated -
Ra60 Celica - Beams 3Sge + 5Sp Auto
white_sandshoe replied to 67Rolla-Ken's topic in Engine Conversions
Or sell it to me... mwahahaha. I agree that MA61, SA63 or even RA65 would be a better option... T series diff will be near the upper limits of what it'll appreciate, plus I know how you drive. lol. The F series in the MA61 comes with LSD and bulk torque handling potential, so shouldn't have an issue. As for fitting a live axle F? good luck finding one. MA45 celica is the one you need, and the one you'll struggle (like everyone else) to find... It's been suggested (read: NOT CONFIRMED) that they fit very easily into the RA60s -
well, my Hachi-GO! won't be seeing the back of the truck until next week, so may have a weekend depending on if I'm getting some shifts or not... I'll know tomorrow. Feeling VERY much like a hills run... not gravel though... really, are there any better places than Mundairing for that sort of fun?
-
Hmmm... sorry guys, all my cars are too nice and pretty and supremely awesome to take on gravel... Actually, I'll be putting two of them on a friggin truck in a couple of days, so won't have running licensed wheels soon.
-
I'll be there... not sure what I'll be driving though...

I'm back this weekend... so the two weekends following are superbly superb times for me... After that, I'm back to Darwin... lucky me they have an AWESOME race track up here.

This baby was called "Charity" when it was my wife's daily... I love the rim choice. Good to see this girl is still in rollaclub members hands.

Driver Wanted - $300 For A Few Days Work.
white_sandshoe replied to white_sandshoe's topic in QLD / Brisbane
Had me day off today. Steering fixed, indicators fixed, right pedal still goes to the floor a little too easily... but that might be down to lack of drivers self control. Still got issues with speedo, rear suspension and drivers seat. Checked out the wreckers, and they got a couple of 130 coronas, but nothing off them that will solve my problem. Anyways, will have bits and pieces done over the next few weeks, so I guess I'll start a rides thread shortly. :P Soon as my camera phone arrives and I can actually take pics again. Thanks again Terry. -

Mungi, tonight many well deserved drinks are on me. You're a friggin legend. I just hope the return journey will be as eventful! (Darwin to Perth via east coast...) The spirit of the road trip lives on!!! -

I think Mungi Mods is the MAN! What a legend. Oh, Phil-keto, tickets back from Darwin can be had for a little under $200... If you wanna tag along it's no issue to me, but I can only make payment to one driver... :P Mungi, when do you want the ticket booked to get you home? I'll chat tomorrow and finalise everything if we can... -

Depends on what we can get flights for I guess... lol. Melbourne to Brisbane, then Darwin to Melbourne??? might be a bit... -
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone in Brisbane had a few days spare... I'm trying to get a car re-located from Brisbane to Darwin, and getting quoted stupid figures from freight companies. If anyone would like to enjoy a short road trip from Brisbane to Darwin to drop off said car, I'm offering fuel and food paid for, paid flight back to Brisbane and if you want, a few nights shared accommodation, plus $300 cash for your efforts. If anyone is keen, and available, email me on [email protected] or SMS to 0414 523 528. I'm hoping to get it here by (or over) next weekend if possible, but will need to know as early as possible to arrange return flights. Thanks. from G-Nut EDIT: Looking at the route and times, it seems it might take 3 days including return flight, so price has gone up to $300 for anyone willing to give it a go.

The real doozy here is actually the english of 86, not the japanese... Eight. 8 and Ten. 10 Eight - Ten Which, over generations... gets shortened, and kinda slang... Eight-Te (I blame the irish/scottish for that one.) and further... Eightte and still more... Eighte. Which, someone decides doesn't look right, so we finally have... Eighty... And who cares? I don't. I'm just mentioning it.
