Hi All!!! I got a T-18 I am doing up, and something i have come across lately, and something that opitimises the style I am looking at, is the concept of "Modifications that look Stock" I want to know what people consider as performance modifications that look stock... Anything you think will improve the handling, comfort or overall appeal of the car while giving the impression that "hey, it could/should have come from the factory like that..." Anything from rims, exhaust, engine conversions, suspension, seats and interior mods... anything goes... I want to hear thoughts on every aspect. Looking forward to all your ideas.

Good to see people entertaining ideas... That's how great things happen... someone has the idea, and may well be crazy enough to try it. Feel free to share any more thoughts, ideas or theories with us! I know I sure appreciate hearing about them...

I've got the same issue with my T18... doesn't like traffic... Check the flow of your radiator... if it's not flowing through all the bars, you aren't getting full cooling capacity regardless of how well you've got air passing through... Something else i've noticed with mine, and I theorise here, the oil pump is not holding good pressure at idle... less oil means more wear and more heat from the engine. I've spoken to one other T18 owner who says it's not an uncommon problem. What is your oil pressure reading at idle? you'd be wanting it as close to the 2 as possible at idle. (mine is sitting just above 0, so she's ready for a new pump i think) hope this helps... If you come across any other info, i'd like to hear it too... been struggling to find T series info. Oh, another thought... is your thermostat and temp gauge working? Usually i can get mine into the bottom of the red and she's still not boiling up... could be thermostat blocking flow and temp sensor not the best. Just a random thought...

I was thinking a water sprayer might help some too... either way, TOTALLY Hondaphile logic... My brother is one... Thought it might be a good idea to bolt on a set of huge rims , bash a hole through the cat and stick a 6 inch barrel 5 inch tip muffler to increase the "performance" on his rock stock 96 civic auto... oh, and he thinks he's a hardcore drifter... mwahahahaha!!! I call him the retarded handbraker... And to top it off... he painted it pink, green and silver... I've so got to get a pic of THAT.

Hey there... Check out your local speedway track... Odds are that someone there is running with an Astron engine. Performance of these things can be off the wall! Also, lots of stuff from the 4G engines had different parts in different vehicles, but remains interchangable, so even if it looks like you might need to fab lots of stuff to get her to fit, check out the same engines in different cars, and you'd be surprised how much there is that can be easily changed around and swapped with nothing more than turning a few bolts. but definately find someone in the dirt circle forums and see what can be done with these suckers...

Glad to have you on board Cameron. more the merrier. I saw a rolla like yours done up a few years ago... looked soooo sweet. there's LOTS of potential there. Looking forward to seeing what you unleash... Anyways, if you ever need a spanner spinner to help, let us know... looking forward to another face to bring up the numbers at cruises.

Actually, i could see a top mount with a cold air inlet working quite well... now THAT's an idea!!! i'll have to do it now... lol!

WOW!!! gotta love the honda tech... I've heard that long inlet runners help with lower torque, but this is getting rediculous!!! I wonder if the ol pod filter to intercooler is actuallymaking an effect... I guess it would still drop inlet temperature, though i think the struggle to pull air through that long-ass piece of pipe would make it a moot point... Any other dumb, pointless 'performance' mods anyone has seen???

Update!!! Sherridan is dead... The third cylinder has half an inch of water in it... that is NOT a good thing right? It's all good though, because for a small fee, namely lending my car to a rolla club member, i'm aquiring another 3K that already has the 4K head fitted... Turbo is sitting on my work bench all cleaned up and waiting. Still not sure about carb setup though... Been doin lots of research, and getting all sorts of info... I am assured that a double barrel holley to match a holden red six will handle the job quite well, and handle the pressure. Hopefully the other engine will arrive in the next week or so, so i'll have to get some pics happening...

It's a matter of priorities... see, now i was supposed to get married on that day, but hey, i cancelled coz Initial D with the club is MUCH more important. LOL Hope the KE10 is coming along... I am soooo keen to see her in action! Oh, and we have a adelaide member over here! he's flying in today... gotta love the east/west getting along.
