Thanks to ChrisandLiz!!! so much thanks in fact, we had to start a thread about how cool they are...
-
I got a couple of blue ones? one without glass!!! can give with a can of silver paint??? hehe

Don't waste a perfectly good AE86 with an SR... just go grab yourself a 180SX or S13 silvia for the same price (probably cheaper actually) and bolt your Isuzu straight in, if you can't find one that already has one fitted. Much easier to keep legal too, as it literally is a bolt in modification... Diff setup from an R33 can then be bolted up to handle any extra power, as well as having a stack of LSD centres that came from the factory, there are an even wider selection of aftermarket stuff that can be had for reasonable prices. A guy i know recently got (for 11 thou) a S13 with a 350bhp CA18DET in it. Fully redesigned suspension, and some serious rubber at all four corners. What the guys have been saying about getting something that's already been built is so true... it's the best way to set up any race car... find someone that's been racing, and buy their 50 thou car for 15... it's a known fact that you never ever get back what you put into a fully worked car. not even these top show cars are actually worth what the builders have paid for them... Just please don't hack up another classic toyota... Actually, if you like the shape, find a Nissan Gazelle... they are a splitting image of each other...

There's barriers you'd have to climb first Mitch... though with 5K power, i'm sure that would present little issue... hehe.
-
If you ever find yourself in need of a door or two (or 4...) I have a few laying around. same goes for gearboxes, back hatches, blocks, carbs, ummm... pretty much everything except bonnets, suspension and diffs.
-
then we may as well go to hillarys, seeing as Josh is further north as it is. Northside drive is fun too... twistys and ridges beside the ocean. i love it!
-
Something to add to the Chris and Liz thread? hehe I agree that is far too many places to go and too many things to do and, well, too much fuel burnt... Let's say then, Run down the mountain, including zigzags highway blast to south and on to freo, then up to City Beach via the city for a swim or something? and then on to Josh's place!!! (Where's Josh's place???)
-
THEN FOR BEER!!! YAY!!!
-
So, plan as it stands??? Meeting up early (what time do people feel like dragging their sorry asses out of bed?) Coffee for those who drink it, hot chocolate for those who don't? Quick dash down the mountain, swing past the ziggidy zags? Then on down Roe to south, then run to the coast for morning tea in Fremantle? Then launch up Stirling Highway, zipping off to run backstreets along the swan river (Victoria Ave, Jutland Pde etc) before taking back to Mill Point rd, through the city and stopping in at Harbour Town/City West to check vehicle condition, top up coolant and do all those other little things that makes old school toyota ownership wonderful. On from there around Lake Monger, past Herdsman swamplands, hook down Hale and onto the coast road for a run up to Hillarys? Maybe a walk through the aircon in AQWA and check out the teeth on those sharks, (not sure how much it costs though, just an idea) then... ok, where to now? That's enough mid afternoon ramblings from me... anyone want to make suggestions/alterations/altercations to my ideas?

Buildup For Ethanol - Ideas And Disucssion On How To
white_sandshoe replied to philbey's topic in General Mechanical
It's one of those things... If you calculate out the saving from using E85 (We don't get it over here anywhere i've heard of, but I understand it's a bit cheaper than regular fuel) and then take into account the additional amount you'd be needing to put into your engine, it kinda balances out, however, you'll still be getting the performance benefit, so it makes sense to run it. Kinda like free power??? -
Buildup For Ethanol - Ideas And Disucssion On How To
white_sandshoe replied to philbey's topic in General Mechanical
My uncle runs straight Ethanol in his Midget Sprint car. Horsepower increase is around the 25-30% mark (also seen in Street Machine mag... they did an E85 V8 build about two months ago and from memory found a 28% increase...) but you'll need to flow about that much additional fuel. My uncle's problem is he hasn't taken the time to set up his fuel regulator properly, and constantly floods his engine... anyways... Oh, as far as valves and seats go, my understanding is that Ethanol runs cooler, similar to Methanol, so you shouldn't have any problems there. -
We are throwing together a last minute mockup and just running with it? hahaha

Ke70 Stalling Under Heavy Braking.
white_sandshoe replied to luke.t.'s topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Ummm, check to make sure you're putting your foot on the clutch? (Not joking... I used to do this all the time without realising... lol) *Brake-brake-brake* Son-of-a-bitch... *foot on clutch*.... -
I'm honoured, Dan... And if i'm elected, I'll see the establishment of a system of delivery to allow WA members equal access to all those scrummy eastern states parts and cars!!! mwahaha. (that was a joke by the way... the system already exists, it just costs exhorborant amounts of money...)
-
So THAT'S the price of originality... lol
-
I second that... have a look at the crown wheel... the teeth are cut differently on one side... the side they mesh... the side that is being pushed by the pinion. If it's flipped, the pinion will be pushing against the square cut side... it'll whine like a bitch and most likely fill your diff housing with metal shavings reasonably quickly at a guess. I got a good idea though (if you're wanting to throw money around, or feeling quite nuts, or both) jam your cute little FWD engine front to rear, run one custom shaft to the tail, and slap another one into a diff up front to push the front wheels... 4WD FTW!!!

I get the feeling i should rescue this thread from the gutter... haha. So, where are we going to meet up then??? Isn't there a coffee shop just near the turn off to Mundairing Weir Road? I know i'll be in serious need of coffee on Saturday morning. Did we want to just play in the hills for the larger part of the day, or does anyone feel like being seen on the streets of Perth?
-
Awwww... c'mon, nothing like dodging moving targets to wake ya up on a crisp morning. lol.
-
So, does anyone feel like doing a nice bright and 'oh-my-god-the-suns-not-even-up-yet-who-the-hell-wakes-up-this-early?' morning meetup? I'm thinkin we can enjoy the birds singing in the trees, then scare the hell out of them with a run down the hill before we get traffic up there. (I don't want to get stuck behind anyone this time... not on my birthday...) Also, what about that breakfast idea? or shall we do a meet up on the hill, then a run down to maccas??? hehe.
-
I got the 20th off! yay!!! I think i'll take the scenic route... much safer for Allie... Now, time and location??? lol.
-
Dirt road is REAL tempting... not so sure though... is the scenic route still got twisties?
-
So, what i'm hearing is... 20th December, weir run in the morning??? or something like it? what's the actual plan?
-
How'd a thread about how awesome Chris and Liz are get so far off topic???
-
Just thought i'd let everyone know... Saturday the 6th, there's a huge beach party on at Scarborough... starts at 12pm (noon) and will have world class DJ's and all sorts of madness. Same night (could probably watch from Scarborough anyways) will be fireworks up at Hillarys Boat Harbour... it's more a family oriented thing (I'll be there kicking heads of people ruining the atmosphere) Should be a solid night either way you look at it...
