  1. Ok guys... the votes are in and tallied... and we have a tie... Now, there are a few ways we can work this out. And I think the City to Surf is the way to go... Ridge Racers can wait until next time... now I am not saying that because I voted for City to Surf, because I didn't. Anyways, I'll have a nice little route mapped out to take in as much nice scenery as possible. Ok, Looks like a last minute vote slipped in... Ridge Racers all the way.
  2. It'd say that's a pretty decent price for an engineered car, especially having seen yours in the flesh... Ok guys, I'll end the voting at the end of next week, so hurry and put your votes in to break the tie.
  3. is that because they are "Unbreakable"? how much you want for yours?
  4. poor poor drift bunnies... K engine will seriously struggle. I'd strongly suggest getting something with at least 1.6 if not 1.8 litres in the engine department. stiff ass springs all round. second hand stuff-all tread tires for the rear, good grippy tires for the front. If you end up with a carb car, weber and extractors and cam... If you can make the change to EFI do it, but still get cams and extractors. Turbo or supercharging will help, but it's best to stiffen the suspension and put crap tires on the back and learn with that before letting the car do most of the work. Where are you practicing your drifting??? on drift practice days i hope... just go down and have some good long chats to the guys who are doing it, and get a good handle on the theory. Maybe try and talk someone into letting you ride shotgun and see how they do it.
  5. Bahahahaha!!! Ok, before my outburst of laughter is taken the wrong way, I own and love 4 T18s... I say GO FOR IT!!! it kinda reminds me of those wagons guys used to do in the 80s... that and a T18 interceptor. hahaha. I love it.
  6. Hmmm... if by "Toyota" you mean "Toyota Corolla in all it's infinite glory and form" then yes... this is the place to be. Rollaclub is a forum for those who share a passion or at least interest in the restoration, modification and maintenance of corollas of every generation... correct me if i'm wrong?
  7. sweet... I might catch up with you saturday. pm me your addy?
  8. And how about fixing up your sig??? mwahahaha
  9. I think i can help you out there... do a google search for "4AGE" Loads of performance there...
  10. I think we need to make a rule... Ken is only allowed to come in a corolla. lol. hurry up and finish that 10! oh... when is good to come have a look??? what's sunday like for you?
  11. Hey there. after a few long and enjoyable "brainstorming" sessions, I'm going straight onto the 1MZ conversion. We'll be doing it into an AE86 first up, but I'll be copying it into a T18 also. Most difficult is the bellhousing, which we will be custom fabricating. most everything else is the same as any FWD to RWD conversion such as coolant lines and the like. For the Sprinter conversion I believe we'll be doing EFI, but on my T18 i'll be attempting triple IDA's... that should be fun and noisy. (And yes, they most certainly will be a big ass hole cut in the bonnet to fit them. It's kinda a track only car anyways.) The EFI should theoretically be completely under bonnet though. I've got the engine sitting here already and prelimenary measurements are VERY promising. Will be pulling a FWD box from which to fabricate our custom bellhousing from over the weekend (I hope) so I'll put up a build thread as soon as we get underway...
  12. Meh. really, it's not ambitious enough for my liking... haha. Speaking of which... I'll be trying my little heart out to get the 3TGTE into my T18 before this cruise... that'll be fun.
  13. Wow! we are getting people from far and wide! don't forget to cast your vote as the route will be made from which ever wins the voting... I did mean a 4WD conversion on the camry, but I can't see any reason not to try one on a 70. mwahahaha. It'd mean complete re-fabrication of the front end at a minimum... but it might mean we can license it as a ICV with that much chassis modification... hmmm... now you got me thinking...
  14. mmmm... *molest*... mmmn...
  15. so... Teddy, you left out one piece of information... how much did it cost? don't tell me you really did roll her?
  16. oh dude... GT4 turbo running gear ftw! 4WD conversion!!! Unless you want to buy a tidy weber carbed T18
  17. what you going to have as a daily? come cruising in that?
  18. oh no bro!!! That's no good at all... still... she'll look sweet as drifting down wanneroo. hehe.
  19. Seems that way don't it? If you were in Perth i'd be available for a bit of swappy swappy... I've thought about how much fun a 3SGTE (GT4) powered turtle would be...
  20. Hmmm. It's looking like a close match between City to Surf and Ridge Racers... I'll close the poll in two weeks so we can all gear up for the route. Hope we can get a good turnout. Last one was great fun for those who made it.
  21. and on a finishing note... hp is not everything, engine response, handling and braking often beat higher hp cars so true... ever heard the story of the street machine drag strip matchup of a 1500hp dyno queen and a stock camry??? yeah, camry won... there is alot to be said for usable rev range. Anyways, there are STACKS of good suggestions that have been made, so I think it's now time to do your homework young padawan...
  22. I love some of the question and answers at the bottom... and the fact that it's got bids up to $100 ahahaha
  23. Just remember the three c's of performance engine building. Compression Cams Combustion Basically... rule of thumb is the higher the compression, the more power... Most standard engines run about 9.5 or 10:1 if you do something silly like run 25:1 it'll just go bang... For sensible street use with pump fuel, bumping it up to 12:1 is good enough. This is what the 3K head does. I forget the actual figure, but i think it's like 11.5:1 or something. When it comes to cams, that pretty much means anything that'll make the engine breathe easier. that in itself is what the cam does by pushing the valves open earlier, keeping them open longer and pushing them further down. As stated, taking a stock cam into Tighe cams or pretty much anyone who grinds them, and requesting either of the profiles mentioned will get you what you're after. It's also important to let the inlet and exhaust flow easier too. Without going into the further technical detail of backpressure and the like, as previously stated about a 2" exhaust is about all you'd need for a well performing street car. As with carburettors, a 32/32 weber should be good, and won't have the same flat spot a 32/36 would have. Personally I'd suggest a single 45mm weber or possibly a twin SU setup (as is currently for sale for $300 here on the forum) would be a good match. Combustion means the time during the piston movement that the spark plug makes it all go boom... I'm not entirely the best person to ask about this, but I understand that about 14 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Centre) is about what you'd look at running on a modded 4K engine with the above mods... But get someone who knows about setting timing to do this... The reason I recommended getting the 3K head and doing it up is that you can do all of the work piece by piece without any downtime of the car itself until you get to the point of swapping it over. Also, It'll make for a much more noticable boost in performance. There's nothing worse than doing a mod to your car and wondering why the super performance promised isn't there... And not realising it's because the rest of the stock system is holding it back.
  24. definately won't get changed... pinky swear.
  25. and Taz RX, how much did it cost for that setup???
