Thanks Mick, i'll put it on this arvo and post a photo up the tips of my fingers are still dry and cracked from the acetone haha
-
So ive painted up my grill looks great i reckon, will put it on this arvo and post a pic on the car as well prepped and sprayed the silver section before masking it up then spraying the black. I took the badge back to chrome as well, looks great but took a solid 2hrs just for that I also pulled the chrome rings around the headlights out and autosolled the hell out of them and they came up sparkling Let me know what you think

I know, the tyres are killing me, but shouldnt be too long and they will look nice and fat
-
Saw an orange KE35 with jellybean, mags driving over the small railway bridge at Waitara on Sunday arvo I wasnt in my rolla at the time but that one looked pretty tidy Also keep seeing a cream one parked behind Millenium Gym at Waitara, looks pretty stock and parked there regularly
-
Thanks, I'm much happier with the look now, much more fat old school I am planning to get some new tyres though, they are currently on 165/75R13 all round but in a few weeks time (when tha cash allows) I'm going to be running 205/60R13 on the rear and 185/60R13 on the front And i will also be doing the white lettering on the tyres to complete the look Should look freakin awesome Mini muscle car FTW!! I also have a new grill to put on thanks to Mick  The Super rare KE35 mesh insert grill   Am cleaning, painting and polishing currently and should have in on the car tomorrow arvo all shiny like Will post another photo of it then

I completely agree with this, that is a way too good example to hack up (not that i think you have that in mind) Choose your mods carefully on that one And congrats on an awesome find :y:

Been a while since i have posted any progress, still working away on the interior slowly but surely But this is just a quick post, got some new shoes for my old girl Much Much better for what i want with the theme of my car (Old Muscle car/Racer) 13x7 Star type wheel made by Rebel wheels usually found on your Toranas or chargers e.t.c I'm so stoked with them My old wheels are for sale in the for sale section if anyone is interested Anyway, here is a pic of the new ones (or old ones as it were HaHa)

Ive made some more progress now, seats are in as well as a temporary black carpet until i get a good one trimmed in by a pro next year. All the gauges are in and working except the fuel gauge because of the different resistance rating so ill sort that one out soon. Just need to put the plastics back in and put the door trims on and it should look pretty damn good i think. So happy to be driving it though, i forgot how loud it was haha Ive only got one decent pic at this stage but i will take more after its a bit more finished off.

Ok so its been a while since i posted any progress, it has been a little slow just trying to get the time but progress has been steady The dash hes been reskinned and it looks so freakin awesome words cannot describe. After being quoted $900 for a back to factory reskin i took my dash instead to Daz at 'Stitched Up' at Tuggerah and he did the best job on it. So much better and suits the style of the car better and only cast $600 The top has been fibreglassed and all other imperfections and bumps and dips that wern't needed and then has vinyl baseball seam stitched over the surfaces so the surround around the guage cluster and any corners all have this seam stitch It looks great but unfortunatley you can't see the stitching very well in the photos Anyway after that was finished i made the aluminium facia for the gauges and that is now ready for clean up and having the indicator lights, park brake light and high beam light installed that is where i am up to in the below photo I have also mounted the drivers seat so just need to do passenger seat then i can do the carpet A few photos to date

Hey Adam thanks for the tip on that, just saved me a few hours of stuffing around 8D Ive found a contact for dash re skinning too unfortunatly he wouldnt do a discount for bulk but let me know when your ready and ill pass on the details for you

And finally the finished product  I'm so happy, my wife did an amazing job thanks darl I can't wait to fot them, have a good way of attatching them but you will have to wait till later in the week to see that Please let me know what you think, we have never made these before haha

Then my wife cut out and hot glued the wadding to the face of the cards to give a little more luxury feel to them
-
Got some good progress happening today, i got all 4 door cards made up today   Huge thanks to my beautiful wife for her handywork (she did basically all of the coverwork) and they came up beautifully I will get them fitted during the week (Car is al my mates place so couldn't get them on today) So i bought the material the other day, i just had to get the backing timder and a few tools which i ran around and got this morning. Then i traced the original door cards onto the new mdf and cut just inside the traceline to ensure correct fitment
-
Alright so i am now finally underway with the interior, pulled out the dash, took the door cards off and pulled the front seats out. The dash is going in for the re skin on monday, will probably take a week to get done then i can get working on the gauges I'll start making up the door cards tomorrow and work on getting the seats mounted during the week Unfotuntly discovered that the seatbelt clips are actually attached to the original seats ao ill have to make up a bracket for those too :bash: More pics of the door cards to follow tomorrow

Hey Mick thanks mate i looove those gauges, i bought the sender unit to go with the speedo so i just have to adapt it to the gearbox. A good mate of mine is going to wire up all the gauges for me, he is a genius when it comes to that kind of stuff but if i get stuck ill give you a call I also finally found someone to re skin the dash so we are pulling it out this saturday WOOOHOOO The next few weeks will be packed with progress, dash getting re skinned, gauges will go in, new carpet has been ordered so that will go in and then the seats. I also bought some awesome door trim material, very race style and is a very close match to the seats as well Will post plenty of pics as the progress happens and i will try to do a bit of a write up on the gauge install for a reference for others, i found surprisingly little info on the subject especially on the speedo so will post as much info as i can I'm EXCITED

Picked up my seats today and i can't wait to get them in. I got two of them, Recaro copies, black with silver stitching(looks better in the flesh that the photo), ADR Aproved i'll test fit them while the dash is getting re skinned. Then after the dash is done put in the new carpet and re fit the seats
-
Yeah fair comment, my idea has kinda grown a bit since i first got the car, i'm really going with more of a street/race theme now, I was also thinking about changing the rims to some 14" hotwires down the track as well Maybe i should change the title haha Edit: I don't know how to change the title :bash:

So i finally got my gauges from the U.S and I'm stoked, just need to get my dash re skinned and they are as good as in haha Going to see the sheet metal guys tomorrow morning about making my stainless dash facia and also going to pick up my brand new seats I took some photos of the gauges as well as a few of the car on the day of toyotafest Enjoy
-
Thanks for the compliments guys, i'm really excited about this build, i have a very specific idea about where i am going with it and i won't be sacrificing quality on any part Stay tuned for more updates very soon, progress should be quite quick for the next month or two

Ok So i have a bit of progress happening now ive sold my daily so I'm getting to work mainly on the interior and I'm sooooo glad, the seats that are in it now are so bloody uncomfortable. Now its got a 32/36 DGV weber on it she goes much better, also put on some Spitfire plugs and leads. Its definitly lacking the cam and some more flow through the head but ill deal with that a little further down the track but it still makes a big difference with just those mods Also got the windows tinted today and had the alarm put in (I can sleep at night now HAHA) ind it looks awesome so happy with it I especially like the rear passenger windows with the 3 chrome studs looks great i reckon I also have on the way from the states, a full compliment of Autometer Sport-Comp gauges on there way to me  I ordered , Speedo, Tacho, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Water Temp and volt meter. I can't wait till they get here ive always wanted a full cluster of them. Will post pics when they arrive The dash will be getting re skinned very soon and I'm going to buy my seats soon as well Anyway, here is a few photos so far
