Just wondering if we had some confirmed details of this, numbers etc Only 2 weeks away -
Its a functional thing, cold air injection into the carb, i guess some peoply might not like it, I love it Sets off my muscle car theme i think I also like to be a bit different :wink:

So now car is running better but still a bit of fine tuning, and then ill get it off to the tuners It certainly looks different now

Ok Progress still happening Carby is all mounted, and almost running smoothly will rectify that on Saturday arvo Also after getting 4 flat tyres from having undersized 165's on 7 inch rims(warning to people who want to stretch tyres) I now have some 205/60R13's all round Painted the lettering on the tyres for that muscle car look, will post more photos on Saturday

Yeah i didnt get twins for the simple reason that i don't think i have the brain capacity to keep them in balance and tune myself. I like the weber because of the simplicity of them as well Its definitely all about the trial and error though I have to hand it to David at ReCarb, the after care Tech support is second to none, he helped me diagnose the issue and then talked me step by step through each of the tuning proceedures and was happy to spend 2 half hour sessions over the phone getting to the issue HIGHLY RECCOMENDED SUPPLIER OF THESE CARBS!!!!!! Now i just have to wait until tomorrow for my chokes & jets to arrive(i have a couple of each coming) and i can continue tuning/ jetting I have to admit that in the past, i have been guilty of the same "slap on a carb" mentality, but not this time I've got a set of 125 & 130 main jets coming so i'll take the 150's out, take them back to 125's (came fitted with 120's) and put the 30mm chokes in and start again from there. You definitely need patience for this but i think it is very rewarding when you are done -

Yeah, i decided to give the smaller chokes a go to see how it will change, i can always change back, I have to say that with the 32mm and the timing at 20deg we threw some 150 main jets in it to see how it ran and FOOK ME it flys!!!! It was fouling the plugs, clearly too rich but goes faster then any k motor ive had before!!!! It took any hesitation completely out of the acceleration and it flew, a small flat spot at about 3500rpm but as soon as it past that it revved its ass off smooth and a heap of pull I know that jet size is too big but it definitely confirmed my thoughts about running lean, more fuel changed the whole dynamic of it!!1 EDIT - I should also mention that once i get it jetted nicely i will put up the sizes so someone with a similar engine/ carb can have a good starting point -

At the moment , i have the dizzy locked in advance of 20deg and it seems to run a shitload better, took it up a hill to load it and no pinging (i do run 98RON as well) Will probably leave well enough alone at this point regarding the ignition until i get my new dizzy set up properly -

Wow, Thanks for all the responses guys but i think it was KE 70 dave who had it, IGNITION TIMING :bash: The vacuum on the carb wasnt enough to advance the timing, so it was bogging down We advanced the timing and got it to run much better I still need to downsize the chokes to 30mm (they are 32 at the moment) and i also have some slightly larger main jets and air jets on the way Currently it will now drive under low acceleration but if i try to stand on it or rev it past about 3500rpm it pops and farts and has no pull Downsizing the chokes will richen up all the circuits so i can start fine tuning it a bit AND YES I WILL BE GETTING IT DYNOED PROFESSIONALLY!!!!!!!!!! I just want to tune it/jet it as close as possible to where it needs to be before that stage, mainly beacause i want to learn all about how it works 2 days ago i knew next to nothing about the workings of a weber carb, now i reckon i could feild strip one HaHA The whole point of this car is it is a hobby and i want to learn and do myself as much as i possibly can By the end of the build, i want to be able to take the whole car apart and pout it back together again without issue (not that I'm planning on dooing that though haha) Thats where the enjoyment is for me, Learn by doing Cheers - Andrew Edit - I should also mention that i have a 5k electronic dizzy on the way that i will get properly recurved to suit -
Hey guys, i have a dillema with my new 40mm dcom weber I bought it from recarb in qld all serviced up, ready to run Got it all mounted on the redline manifold beautifully and then spenmt until 4am this morning trying ti get it to run!!! It came jetted for the 4k, It looks clean as, it idles perfectly and if you bring the revs up slowly it responds but if you snap the throttle, it just bogs down and leans out We suspect the throttle pump but we pulled it apart and it seems to be funtional ANY IDEAS ANYONE????????!!!!! We tested it thoroughly for any air leaks and couldnt find one Its Killing me Please help Thanks in advance Andrew :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

Ive been reaserching this for my car and its a dead end Eagers went out of manufacture years ago Yoki y352s followed in 2009 Only company still making a passenger vehicl white lettered tyre is bf goodrich......but they don't make them in 13's Or you van put some 4x4 tyres on, they still make those :hmm: Paint pen it pretty much your only option there days

Thanks guys, something had to be done or i was going to end up in a box All you need to do is set your mind to it, and if you want something bad enough, it will happen Wasnt even that difficult, really a little education goes a long way The trick is to stick with foods you like to eat but healthier versions and then as i progressed i sherpened up my nutrition to where it is now which is almost perfect During the weight loss i was only exercising 3-4 days a week 45-60 mins a day nothing over the top I'm now a self confessed gym junkie though HaHa 60-75 mins a day 6 days a week But i got up to 185kg and am now down to about 90.5kg and never going back I hate the cleche "lifestyle change" but thats what it really is

So i am getting an unexpected upgrade now, Was trolling ebay and found a fully recoed single 40mm DCOM sidedraught weber on manifold from RE-Carb in QLD can't wait to get hold of it and fitted, will be much more responsive and should get a bit more power over the downdraught 32/36 i have on there now, plus i can ditch the stock mani now as well :y: Glad i found a single, as much as i like twins (used to have dellortos on my old coupe) the single will be much easier to keep tuned and for the size of my engine ( or any K engine) A single weber sidey will provide ample fuelling no matter how crazy i get with the internal mods a little further down the track

Thanks mate, I love those wheels So happy with them, Your lucky to have a set as well, i don't think they made that many sets in that stud pattern They definitely go well on the old rollas :y:
