  1. It's a car! What do i win? But seriously i've never seen one of those before looks like it could be a Hillman?
  2. Nice Colour - Why didn't you paint it orange...lol You have to get the number plate - TIC TAC
  3. NASCAR- the best way to do your neck excersises
  4. I've been reading this thread for a while and i have to say that you are one motivated f#%ker This car has moved along so quickly and its nice to see an original take on the old rolla Well done
  5. Looks really nice I love the colour Score
  6. Well i've got my plates now But the car is running like shit I badly need to get the carbies tuned so i will have to wait a bit longer before i can drive it properly
  7. Check this beast out - hopefully it will be a second project down the track Tell me what you think
  8. Lol is not punctuation....lol
  9. Well the diagnosis is in ITS THE CARBS!!! Apparantly the carbs are putting way too much fuel in and fouling up the plugs ridiculously fast So i can drive it providing thst i clean the plugs every time I now have to find a good carb place and get them tuned and probably run a kit through them as the look pretty old Thanks for all your input guys, it was really helpful when diagnosing the issue. I posted another topic about trying to find a carby place but if anyone knows of a good one in Sydney, then please let me know BTW the bloke that came to diagnose my car now drives a overrated T-18 (no rust, interior perfect full instrument dash, it is f#$king awesome) and he said when he is ready to sell it that i will be first on the list to buy I took some photos of it and will post them in due course
  10. All that sounds like it would definatly be out of my league I'll wait to hear what my mate says and if it is the carbs (i suspect it is) then i'll have to bite the bullet and find a good carb place in Sydney
  11. I noticed in your signature that you have twin dellortos Do you adjust these yourself? If so is it difficult?
  12. I've got a mechanic mate coming over to look at it and give me his diagnosis and maybe he can fix it Fingers crossed However i spoke to another mate today and he seems to think that the carbs have just gone out of tune and reckons they will need to be adjusted/tuned every couple of months Is this common/true?
  13. Aaah but when the twins were running well They were running VERRRRY well
  14. Electronic ignition in it but i just git a new dizzy cap as the old coil lead had fused to the cap and when i changed engines over i had to change the coil lead due to the distance from the dizzy Went to pull it off and then snap So new dizzi cap aswell
  15. Well its definitly not the fuel filter But the problem seems to be getting even worse I'ts just about undriveable now, after testing the new fuel filter (i had one lying around) i was lucky to get it back up the driveway I guess it must be the carbs or the timing:bash:
  16. No worries Medicine Man Thanks for your help - I've got a mate with a timing light so i'll check that tomorrow an i'll check the fuel filter tonight If all else fails i'll send it off to get the carbies sorted Cheers
  17. I'm trying to see if it's something i can fix myself or if i need to take it to someone I'm by no means a mehcanic(i mean mechanic) but if its something i can adjust or check myself then i'll have a go All i know is that it was perhaps running a bit rich yesterday but still running well and now it seems to have dramatically deteriorated If i slow roll the throttle then it revs ok but if i floor it then it struggles but it wasn't doing this yesterday
  18. Is that something that would happen all of a sudden? When i drove it yesterday it seemed fine
  19. I just took my rolla out for a spin and after driving for about 10 mins, I noticed than when i put my foot down the engine bogged down and through the rev range it seemed to cough & splutter The other thing i noticed was that it had trouble revving past about 5000rpm(didn't seem to want to rev out) I think it has something to do with the carbs (twin dellortos) But i'm really not sure Has anyone come across this and how can i fix?
  20. !00% agree I have a locked diff in my donor car and it was the worst thing for turning corners Unless your building a super horspower drag machine i wouldn't bother
  21. G'day Does anyone know a good place in Sydney where i can get my Carbies tuned? I want to try and find someone who really knows what they are doing Currently i think they are running rich and the idle is set too low All help is appreciated - Cheers
  22. Well the engine is in Gearbox is in It's all hooked up and running very well In fact i'm suprised just how hard this little rolla goes now :rocknroll: I also have a 2.7l injected hilux and the rolla would leave that for dead Just have to wait a couple more weeks and i'll get the twins tuned But overall i am very impressed with what you can acheive with a n/a 1300!!!! Now i can start working on the body
  23. It may not be a set up, but saying that automatically makes you sound suspicious And you became a member 1hr before trying to organise a cruise with people you don't know I don't want to be the one to burst your bubble but i doubt whether anyone will turn up
  24. Yeah thanks Ryan I made sure that was one of the first things i did after pulling out the auto shifter After reading so many posts of people not being able to get the thing started after the conversion i didnt want to be pulling my hair out wondering why But cheers for the tip anyway :lolcry: Andrew
