  1. No worries Jake, Hope to see you there :D
  2. I should also mention that if you can't make it but still want to be in the calander Send some pics of your rolla to '[email protected]' and i'll try to get you in there somewhere Cheers - Andrew
  3. G'day Fellow Rollaclubians As you are probably all aware, Jip is organising a rollaclub calender for 2009 which is going to require a few photos to represent Sydney for a month So i'm proposing a photo shoot & BBQ over on our lovely Northern Beaches I think Palm Beach probably has the best car park for such a shoot So if you want to get your car in the calander then we will meet in the Palm Beach car park on Sunday 23rd of November at about 10:30am, Get some cars set up for a few different shots including a nice group shot and then we'll fire up the Barbie at around 12:00 (so bring a few sausages and drinks with you) and then maybe a swim if the weather is good Please post your interest if you are keen on going It should be a nice meet n greet as well as a chance to get the dust off the old rolla I will put up some directions in due course Hope to see you all there Cheers - Andrew :D
  4. If you want any sort of decent opinion, your going to have to post some pics mate
  5. Well i have a small update so far Basically degreased the engine bay now and given everywhere a light sand in preparation for filler & primer I still have a bit more sanding to do in a couple spots that require more attention but other than that shouldn'd be too long before paint and then i can start the engine work
  6. Hey Guys thanks for the support  But this topic was started a fair while ago and nothing was ever done about it I'm still up for it but it's up to Ben essentially Cheers - Andrew
  7. I guess it depends on the purpose for which it was intended On our shit roads then you want to find a good balance but if you are using more track then you'll definatly wand a good stiff one.......LOL
  8. Nice vid :) You can really hear that gilmer
  9. If i were you, i would just buy some new springs. They'll cost you a couple of hundred but you will be able to sell them again for almost what you paid for them (with low km on them) and you'll have peace of mind that they are nice and new and safe :)
  10. Stiffer means you will get less body roll but you will feel a whole lot more bumps in the road But essentially, your car will handle a shitload better :)
  11. Fair enough if your going to do it yourself i guess but if you were paying someone for a rebuild, It would definatly be more benificial to go the GE :)
  12. I'm not sure about the 3a but instead of getting the 4a-c rebuilt i'd be putting in a 4age in it's place
  13. I always go looking for bongwater on a car forum.............WTF :) :P :D Who was stupid & childish enough to put that there?
  14. Looks good Luc :P
  15. Really!!!!???? Shit mate i had no idea, It was running fine but i guess my temp gauge must have been f@$ked Well i'm glad you were pulling it apart or i would have felt like a right C^%T Luckily i do have a speco temp gauge to go in with the new engine (Along with about 8 other speco gauges) Sorry about that and Thanks for the tip as well I'll hook you up with a carton the next time i see you to make up for it :(
  16. I couldnt find one at the time thats why i had the mec but shouldnt cost much more if any
  17. I had a MEC running it and it cost me $20 from a wrecker, I think it was from a Falcon or something
  18. :P ......... CALL
  19. Hey Travis Go to a wrecker and get yourself a High energy coil or at least a Medium energt coil :P It will work with the standard one but you aren't getting the full potential
  20. Whats the offset on those out of curiosity?
  21. Looks like they were made for that car NICE :P :(
  22. You have to look at the whole car to see that its rough as guts and wonder how many shortcuts he took doing it I garauntee that its not engineered and you would probably have to spend thousands to get it up to scratch Don't run away......GET IN YOUR 180 AND F#&KING FLOOR IT AWAY
  23. It's the hidden costs that get you, they all add up Larger fuel lines & pump, surge tank, RWD conversion of the motor (cut n shut plenum e.t.c), custom mounts, T50 box, custom tailshaft, Larger radiator , Thermofan and then there is the wire up cost, the engineer cert All those things your looking at $2500-$3000 and if you notice i haven't included the actual engine yet or a computer so slap that on top and your up to probably $4000-$4500 And remember the only thing pro listed is the wiring & engineer so for that amount you would still need to do the actual install of every thing else yourself The reason i know is i'm going through the exact same transplant ATM except i'm also adding a turbo so mine's going to cost more Hidden costs are the killer of every engine conversion, The engine itself is the cheap part :P
  24. If you do most of the work yourself (except wiring up & tuning), don't expect much change from $5000 if you go turbo as well maybe $6500 and if you get someone else to do all the work i reckon you'll be lookin at over $10k drive-away
