  1. Dandy is fine by me. But if port suits more people i have no objection. Craig is in as long as he isn't working :y:
  2. Longer the better. Its abit like long riens on a horse. You can keep control and giv'em a good whipping at the same time (Yes i was once a jackaroo)
  3. Well guys, since the 7k has died we've decided to do a full rebuild It is coming out of the car this week. My engine rebuilder has never done a 7k and said he has very little tech data on them. If anybody has any info that may help it would be appreciated. We hope to develop it beyond factory specs. So things like cam angles , valve settings, basically anything and every thing. When we have aquired as much info as pos we will then work out what to do. I will try to keep as much info as possible and post our results when finished
  4. Firefox RULES Finally got rid of all my IE supported stuff and shut down IE. Guess what ? No more problems :P
  5. That sounds sooo! sweet. I got excited. :P
  6. Thanks for the offer Dazza. I'm sending the car to a mates workshop tomorrow and he will let me know just how serious. Running the fuel line was a breeze after seeing yours. I will have to buy you a beer if we go karting. Had enough of cars sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob
  7. I'm in. When ever you choose suits me. I hope they have more leg room than 20years ago.

  9. Very sweet. But isn't the steering wheel is on the WRONG side.
  10. Wish i was cruising round the panhandle. It would be a lot less stressfull
  11. Hi guys and girls, hope your having a better time than we are. To start with about two months ago we swapped the perfectly good 4k for what we thought was an even better 7k. On the way home from putting in the 7k the alternator decide to give up. Not to much problem we had a spare. Swapped alts but car was overheating. Next day new thermostat. Still overheating Next day new water pump. Still overheating Next day thermo fan added. Still overheating. Think for two days tried another thermostat No overheating New prob, at mid revs motor chokes down. NO idea. THen clutch gives up along with rear brakes. Fix them and decide to add electric fuel pump for new carbs Fuel pump doesn't work, brand new relay no good. Fuel pump works motor doesn't turn over, remove starter its stuffed. Fit rebuilt starter motor. Engine locks up. And this is where we are. It seems with cooking the motor we probably started the ball rolling but now it seems we have dropped a rod, this is now becoming expensive. To make matters worse 2 weeks ago under pressure from the other half i disposed of our completly perfect 4k. Haven't even started about the probs with the MERCEDES HOWS EVERYBODY ELSE DOING   :P
  12. Glad to see another VIC rolla underway. Most of the guys in VIC are in the build process at the moment. When some more hit the road we will organise a cruise. Always good to see another 55 rebuild
  13. Ok i've played with the starter and it is officially stuffed. It has a tag with these numbers 28100-24030 028000-4050 12v 1N nippon denso Can somebody point me in the right direction to find what this is out of.
  14. G"day guys the nightmare cotinues. The starter on the 7k has always been tight. It would generally start first throw. Now it has locked up and will not kick over. I"ve taken it out and it seems ok when i test it. I don't know if this is even the correct starter for the block and flywheel combination. a 4k starter doesn't fit the body is to big :D
  15. Kanga's car shines so well it had a yellow reflection alround it as he pulled in my driveway. PPG groupA 2pac sprayed wet on wet is the best you can get. (That takes a proffesional to do the job) As every one has said a good quality thinners is vital. The other crucial part is preperation. Make sure it is spotless and rub down with prepsol make sure you wipe off the excess. A mate(who is a spray painter) painted the evil HQ in singwriters background paint (enamel) and with good prep and good thinners mixed pretty thin it looked so good i was asked had it been painted in 2pac
  16. You might be able to use 2 or 3 rollas as the starter motors.
  17. For a manifold try lynx in sydney. $110 plus postage. talk nicely and you will get him down in price. I got mine for $70. Kangaroosa sent me an awesome file on parts and suppliers.
  18. I don't want to hear sbout bubbleshooter. :jamie: I like living here
  19. Got the manifold and carbie linkages today. studying kangas photos very closely. Iwill take the manifold into work tomorrow and clean it up THEY'RE ON THE WAY :jamie:
  20. Thank you Jamie, after nearly being thrown out because of bubbleshooter.(I think it was about 10hrs) it was probably better you were in QLD, but with all the help you have give ithink you are more than redeemed. ps you can get bubbleshooter on nokia through opuszoo
  21. You can always benifit with an electric fuel pump. It's a matter of wether the small gain ie: less power drawn from motor , more power to back wheels is finacially viable. Anyway the sound of the electric fuel pump humming in the boot is cool
  22. Lynx will make up leadsets to suit your needs. Didn't ask how much but when i ordered my manifold and ramflo air filters he went the big sell on the plugs. was going to open this topic myself
  23. In vic they allow a 3km error margin eg; clocked 65 booked 62 clocked 105 booked 102 By the time the police penalties hand it over to the perin court the fine is about double with late fees added. Plus at $500 for driving an unreg vehicle (been caught one or six times) the debt quickly builds. DON'T GO DOWN THIS TRACK!
  24. Thanks guys. I have a set of su's from a triumph i'm about to fit up. Didn't want to fit them until i had some idea of a cure and it sounds like they might be it. Buy the way did i tell you Dazza Bush (kangaroosas) is a legend. The list of parts and suppliers he gave me for the su"s is brilliant. The photos leave no doubt as were things go. Hope to have the carbs fitted by sloth's twentieth. Will let all know how it goes.
  25. We have yet another problem since putting in the 7k. once the motor seems to have warmed every time you start getting past half throttle its like someones pulled the choke out. Ease up and it runs like shit till it's burnt off the extra fuel. A guy at motor improvments said he had the same problem and just put larger points. Has anyone else come across this before :jamie:
