  1. Be careful playing with the suspension. There is nothing quite like it around. In Victoria you should not have to much trouble putting a 302 in it. Most HEATHENS put 350 chevs DON'T F@#K WITH A MERC  For a complete on line workshop manual go to. mb.braingears.com Sorry don't know how to create link If it doesn't open properly let me know there is a trick to it Or www.mbcnsw.org.au/forum/ Mercedes equiv to rolla club. (Nowhere near as good)
  2. I wil see if Craig can pick me up. We could meet up at the freeway entrance and cruise on over to Tigers
  3. Boofis! Boofis! Boofis! DON'T LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK!!! C'mon Troy, you've been with us long enough that we know you have some extreme ideas. You have shown that you follow up these ideas so i reckon if anyones going to do an over the top conversion and succeed it will probably be you. So spill your guts. Whats the mystery motor
  4. We run extractors with a 2" sports system on a 4k. I certainly wouldn't go any bigger. Welcome aboard another vic member and a KE55 to boot :S
  5. Yeah they are the stock pistons. Came up realy clean. We used chevy solids they were the right size. The lifters seem to be common size in Kmotors as these are the same size for 4 and 5k.
  6. A few picture updates The instrument panel installed indicator and hi beam The block is going to be RED the honed block and cleaned piston
  7. Hmm! 13/4 su's. :) That chart is a bit of a worry, but I do know of a couple of triumph 1800's that dyno just over 140hp and they have the same carbs
  8. Jamie is on the ball. As I always say its in the PREPERATION!
  9. Thanks Tiger Hope to see you in a couple of weeks :D
  10. Kanga's on the ball. We're going to run twin su's I don't have exact specs forthe motor yet I will put it all together and post it about mid JAN To be honest I'm hopeing for 140 to 150 HP With the extractor paint I have had mixed result's Cooking them after painting helps. Take all the shelves out of the oven and shove them in. Start at 50 and raise the temp 50 every half hour to 300. after that the car will bake the rest. It never hurts to try,
  11. I used VHT 1200 deg paint on the extractors Same people do paint for blocks at 600 deg I don't remember the brand in the engine bay it was a hi temp paint.
  12. Yeah! I just cleaned it as best I could washed it with prepsol and used cans. Anything was better than how it looked. I'm not holding my breath on it lasting. After I took the pic of inst panel I put a rubber edging around it. A blue led in a chrome holder for hi beam and 2 yellow led's for indicators. 5 blue lit rocker switches where the radio had been for the neons in and under the car. I will try to get a pic during the week.
  13. I like the Dallas idea. Maybe the number 22 in silver if we ever race it.
  14. Instrument panel Extactors Engine bay
  15. Yeah! We're hoping for 130hp plus and around 150ft/lb of torque. don't know what they are in metric but it should boogie  I'm going to try and convince Craig to take it to Geelong motorsports place and have a bit of a go in thier events. Let it howl in anger
  16. G'day guys and girls. I haven't been on lately as I've been trying to get the cars finished for christmas. I've finally sorted the smoking problem with the Mercedes and cured the auto problem at the same time. It seems the vacuum modulator on the auto was stuffed and was sucking the trans fluid straight up into the manifold. Now thats fixed it gets new injectors and hopefully i will have 220KW of power again. Craigs Rolla now has a bright chrome engine bay fire engine red extractors, blue under car neons, blue chercker plate instument panel, blue neons in the instument panel and blue washer neons that flash with the indicators. The 7k block and crank are back from the engineers, so its about to be painted and the bottom end assembled. The heads weren't ready yet. Hope to get them early in the week, if so it may just be ready for the Bar-b que Well thats about it, stay safe and keep on rollin Bill
  17. I will certainly see whats happening. Hope i'm free. I will see what Craig is up to . Shame we don't have the 7k ready. NOT LONG NOW
  18. Weren't they sold here in oz with the spoiler and flares. I seem to remember an sr5 corolla about the same time as the first sr5 Hilux. I think it came with black stripes. I like the bolt ons it fills it out and gives it a rear end. :D
  19. Rolla's are pretty well balanced cars, why spoil it with all that weight up front. I'm not into cossing brands even though people talk highly of the ca18 and sr20 So that leaves the best bang for bucks as the 4agze. Or spend the money on a 4k,5k or 7k They're good fun motors. Rollin 03 had the right idea
  20. The only way to go is a full weld. Just tacking is a waste of time Its all in the preperation and using the right consumables. Arc or mig should make no difference.
  21. Yeah they are basically are the same just go in backwards. Must have had one to many chivas last night. Just realised i posted an EIO not EOI last night. Must of thought i was old McDonald :)
  22. St Nick has the idea, wait till you're 100% happy with what your gonna get. As far as chicks with tatts go i have no problem. believe me, the right tatt on the right body is awesome, but the wrong tatt and all they're good for is :)
  23. Go Cavey...! Just make sure you've got the right bloke doing it. A lot of my mates got tatts done by a guy they knew who was learning and did them for practice cheap. He learnt a has won tattooist of the year But their tatts didn't improve with him. Once on they're there for good
  24. Must admit I'm feeling pretty good Maybe this helped
  25. Nothing wrong with a Lexus v8 if they're to pricey try a rover v8 Not to expensive, lightweight and it would fit with little engineering. Get the motor out of an old P76
