  1. Thanks for all the advice :y: Building it and designing it will be way more fun i think but i'l have to see what jaycar has. Shouldn't be hard to build just not that good with the soldering iron. Sorry i'm a bit of a noob when it come's to electronics.. What would happen if i solder 500 ohm resistors to the positive lead on the LED? "edit" thanks kanga for the advice about the tubes. I have had tubes under the dash before but they are a bit too bright and bulky. The led's will be tucked away under the dash in a corner. I'm not sure but i don't think they can change colours eather.
  2. Jip, sorry to here about your old man. I hope you and your mum are ok. I know what it feels like cos i went through it all my life. Well not now but up until i was about 20. Slo030, some girls love to gossip. Its the only thing that makes their life feel interesting. Don't tell your girlfriend anything because she will go and tell her best friend who will tell another person and before you know it, everyone knows about it. You tell your girlfriend off and she says "I only told my best friend and she promised she wouldn't say anything".
  3. Omg i had a crap week. Nothing is easy or straight forward. Anything i would do turned to shit. Car wouldn't start, phone went flat, fridge blew up, cigarette lighter stopped working in car, rained all weekend when i was camping, power went off and i was late for work, my carport got flooded, gf broke up with me, my brother is giving me the shits, I got a mountain of bills for city link, mobile, credit card, 3 weeks rent, insurance, internet. I was meant to finish the job tomorrow but the client changed her mind about the colour today so the next job that was booked in has to be delayed till tuesday next week, i haven't had one moment to myself this week and this is the only thing i have done on rollaclub for 3 days coz i been doing stuff for everyone else and i have a sore tooth. When the power went out (on wed) i was late, told the boss i was sorry and the next day (today) there was 2 car accidents and it made me 20 mins late again! Oh and the last thing, the cops pulled my over and gave me a warning because my stereo was too loud. I just cranked smack my bitch up coz i was stressing out. Bash: bash bash :D :Rant; Goooz fra bah....
  4. The facts of life, Lazyboy
  5. Whats this? 3rd corolla? Looks like you have your work cut out for you for the next year, Lol. Nice one, hope you have fun with it :lolcry:
  6. Although i love coming on cruises i wont be making any until my rolla is back on the road. I hate driving my ford on cruises and its a heap "o" shit. I feel out of place driving it around on a cruise for Toyota's.
  7. Omg, I was working on a new house today, painting the outside and this brand new Volvo backed into a little blue puegoet (spelling). The woman just backed into it then drove off. I called my mate over and told him what happened and he said that little Peurgot belongs to the owner of the house we were painting. So we told the owner and looked at the damage and the whole front drivers door is smashed in and she can't open the door. All i can say is "Bloody Volvo Driver's!" He he.
  8. Yeah just a clean up :lolcry: I have always had this in the back of my mind that this would happen. Thats why I always keep tools and power leads and anything valuable off the ground. Every time it rains, I always check the gutters on the driveway and clean out anything but because i was away i couldn't help it. I'll just get everything out this week and pressure clean it all. No big prob :laff: Just got to find the time now. I need to find a new house so i been a bit busy lately.
  9. I just got back from a 3 day camping trip and my carport has been flooded :( Everything that was touching the ground has got 2" of mud on it including all my freshly painted doors and panels :lolcry: And this is my sitting area, right now i have my feet in mud :laff:
  10. Omg!!! I got home from camping and and my carport was flooded! :laff: All my panels that i sprayed last week got wet and I have about 2" of mud on them :lolcry: The entire floor area including my tool shed has mud everywhere.
  11. WGMG is buying heaps of meat for my camping trip like Scotch fillets, short cut bacon and gourmet italian sausages and I put them in my bar fridge last night and I bumped the cord for the fridge and this morning i went to pack the meat in the eski and its all warm. I'm going to have to throw it all out now. :no2: Its only about $30 worth but it does grind my gears :y:
  12. Omg, gwhd> I planned a big camping trip with my work mates and we are leaving on Friday morning. Today when driving home, my brakes started grinding :) By the time i noticed it happen, the auto shop's was closed. I have to fix them tomorrow some how :( I don't want to do this but i think I'll have to ring a mobile mechanic. I wonder how they are going to like it when i ring them and say i need it done today. I don't like my odds.. :D Ps. Thanks for opening the thread Ben :(
  13. I didnt know you had a k25? Nice man, hang on to it and fix it up heaps good! Lol :)
  14. Stuff the clock off but where's the hazard switch going?
  15. I didnt use plastic prime. All i used was 2 pack primer/filler undercoat. It seems to stick pretty well, the paint has something to stick to now. I knew they would fry up a bit but i guess thats what you get when using 80grit. :) When i sprayed it the bumper just soaked up the paint like a sponge and flaired up. I left it for 5 mins, came back and put on another coat and it seemed to cover ok. I just hope i havent f@$ked it
  16. Thanks for the comments everyone. :( I don't know what its like to sand yet. I'm going to give it a few day's to harden up because i painted it on pretty thick so i could sand it back nice and hopefully fill any tiny little pin holes. My plan of attack is to wait a few days then spray on some speckle coat black acrylic and use that as a guide coat. (Thanks to who gave me that advice) :( Then sand everything back and see what happens. Any questions about painting i'll try and help. I'm great with house painting (11 years exp) but car painting i can only give a little advice on so Pm me if you have questions. Cheers, Johno :) EDIT-- Just sanded a little bit just then and it sands real easy and powers up quite a bit. Should come up really good. Now i just want to sand everything. Might sand the front bumper now. When i sanded the crap out of the bumper to get rid of the goose bump texture, when i sprayed it, all the plastic flared up making it all rough. Its like painting Raw MDF. Once you put a coat on it, it gets real rough if you know what i mean.
  17. :D Might have to look into that, thanks!
  18. I know where your coming from. I rented a house with my gf and i had my brother live with us too. My gf couldn't stand it coz he always left the toilet seat up. I would be working and me gf would be doing house work and my brother would sleep all day then wake up at 4:30 and say whats for dinner after she did his washing which he should have done. WGMG is a guy at work. I was in one of those site toilets havin a crap and this guy throws a metal drum at the toilet. Scare's the crap out of me (literally) but i knew it was just a joke and laughed about it and said f**ing prick! Whatever, it was a joke. I saw him go in the toilet today so i did the same back to him and he had the sooks all day. don't dish it out if you can't eat it.
  19. I think its funny, they are on a boat and make some huuuuuge thing about it. :D That human catapult ride looks fun! Just need to get my self a 4 wheeler and i'm set
  20. I will most likely ground all the LED's to the chassis. It doesn't not need to be off the switch. I Asked someone about 12v LED's and they said there is no such thing. So there is 12v LED"s?
  21. Well after a very long time.. here are the long awaited pictures  Cleared out all the stuff in garage, swept floors and put drop sheets down Put everything out in the sun to warm up, It was pretty cold first thing Sanded the last of the filler on the doors and prep washed them ready to paint Spot primed bare metal spots with metal etch primer Here was everything ready to boogie but found out that the harder was dry  This little tin of hardener cost me 1.5hours driving and a slab of Jimmy but now i have everything ready to paint. Painted all the backs of the doors and then waited to flip em After the backs of doors were dry I started painting the fronts. The door pictured was the worst one. Didn't come up too bad :D All doors and front bumper are primed  Painted the engine bay first Then the rest of the car Rear bumper I still have to prep and paint the boot and bonnet with 2pack but I'm not out of the woods yet. Still have to guide coat everything, sand it all down with a block and fill whatever comes up on the guide coat then I think the rest will be left for my panel beater. Oh and I owe him a MASSIVE thank you! Ossie, your a ledge, Thanks mate!
  22. Wayne - Both boot spoilers that i removed were very easy to take off. If the bolt keeps turning i would say that the bolt has broken inside the plastic housing. The only thing i can suggest it just undo what ever bolts you can and for the other bolts that keep turning just give the spoiler some gentle persuasion as Bowler said. Well i was not going to give up with getting the hardener. I rang 3 different shops and all were closed. I rang my panel beater's mobile countless times till he finally answered. I told him i need some 2k hardener and he said he couldn't help me cos he was out enjoying his public Holiday. I said its an emergency and if he can help there's a slab with his name on it. He then said "when can you come round mate?". So got my hardener in the end for a cool price of a slab of Jimmy  Ps. Rolla is painted. :D
  23. Lol :locked: I was just real exited cos it's been cold and raining all week and today is just wicked weather. Well i started with good intentions. Sanded the last of the filler. Prep washed the doors and spot primed rust spots with etch primer. Got everything out to start priming and guess what!!?? The Fuking hardener has gone hard!! Ugrrhhhh!!!!!!!! I can't do anything now because today is a public holiday and the panel shop is closed  I'm soooo Pissed off because i thought i was going to get it done today. I'm going to Google a paint shop in the area and try and find one open but i highly doubt it  :y: :y: :(
  24. Yeah i'm gonna hang on to it for a while (hopefully) Today is what i like to call "Painting Day" though today has already being named "Labor Day" so i will just do heaps of labor on it today. Got up this morning and it was like 8c hope it gets to 22c :y: . Went outside and the sun is starting to shine through the trees  . I just know today is going t be good :y: Anyway i better get going and make a start. Its the first time i sprayed a car to wish me luck! Johno :locked:
  25. Today i finished sanding the other two doors so all four doors are now sanded and filled. Well just one needs more work. It had a funny dent in it. It looked like it has been hitting the front quarter panel and well picks explain better. I also stripped the tailgate door but left the glass in. I tried to take it out but no good. Looks like its going to stay in for painting. I'll get some fishing line and tuck it behind the rubber to allow me to paint behind the rubber a bit. That way i wont have that ugly mask line when its finished. Anyway, I still think i can get it primed tomorrow. The forecast has dropped from 26c to 22c but thats still good to paint but winds are forecast for 30km/h. I hope i don't have too much dust blowing on my new primer. Anyway, I'm talking to much now. Thats as far as i got toady and tonight. I got the wire wheel and got the rust out then got a hammer and smashed it in so tomorrow i'll rust treat it, etch prime it, fill it and sand it.
