Hi and welcome to rollaclub :D Nice seca there mate, got any interior pics?
-
If your going to pull the car apart please, "PLEASE" have lots of little boxes and glad zip bags and a massive roll of labels and when you pull something off label it and include a number. That way when it comes to putting it back together you can count down from 327, 326, 325, etc. I wish some told be that before i pulled mine apart :D

Sweet, another Ae82 sedan on the forums.. :D
-
Ok so work has started on the sedan.. 1. Bought myself a buffer and gave the whole car a good cut and polish.. 2. Cleaned up the wheels and tires 3. Touched up all the stone chips on the body with paint 4. Put on the new hubbys.. fully sick 13" caps 5. Pulled the boot apart, rust treated it, filled it, sanded it and painted it 6. Ordered new carpet for the boot BEFORE AND AFTER pics, gotta love it! :D

Tire in a can, although I heard tire fitters hate that stuff with a passion cos its a prick to get off the wheels. -
Nice work Jarrad, about time you got another corolla! Hehe :y: Looks pretty clean for its age.. better hurry up, Gor4 is this weekend

Just after I bought the car I started detailing it, got new hubcaps for it, gave it a polish and cleaned the interior. The bonnet, quater panel, headlights, parkerlights and bumper are all damaged so I'm going to swap my front end over from the Seca. I prefer the series 1 front end more anyway so it all makes sence. Plans for this car: Series 1 front end change 4age engine Twincam dash cluster 2" exhaust with genie extractors Exedy heavy duty clutch 7" Touch screen 15" Mags CSX seats Disk brake rear end 4 bolt front struts

Thanks mate, Yeh, thats a huntsman in the door frame with a nest of little spiders.. Yummy  thanks mate, thats the plan. I have all the parts with me on hand and a little bit of knowlege now so one thing at a time.

Hey everyone :y: I bought my second corolla, a white 1988 Ae82 Sedan. As most of you know I have a Brown Ae82 seca that was going to get rebuild but after pulling the whole thing apart and trying to paint it, I ran into some bad luck with the weather and Non self motivation. After moving house, I left it to rust up in the hills. I recently brought it down to where I live but after looking at it for about 2 months I have decided that I can't remember how to put it back together  I have a heap of spare parts and some goodies to put in the new corolla like AE94 brakes, 4age conversion, twincam shockers, rear disk brakes, 7" screen, mags, extractors, 2" exhaust, exedy clutch and much more so the plan is to do all this and be done with it hopfully :y: Vehicle condition.. Poor :hmm: Dash, windsreen, front indercators, headlight and l/h mirror are all cracked, bonnet and quater panel slight dent ,stained seats, rust, blown head gaskit, blows lots o smoke and faded paint work and a free spider nest

Good to see you back Moe, I been off the forums for about 6 months too. Nice to see your still working on your project. Mine is not really happening now but i bought a white Ae82 sedan.. who knows, it could end up like yours.. Haha (I wish ) Anyway keep up the good work and keep the pics rolla'n in :y: -
Looking good Yuvi  Its no way a sleeper now but the mods you done are pretty cool. One little thing that i would change is the CD player surround. It looks good where it is but have you thought about Fibreglass surround? I read somewhere in the car sound forum about how to do it you could follow the step by step and do something with your glove box.. heres the link http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=6096 Anyway keep up the good work Johno

Nice looking ford! Wish my ford was turboed :) How many Killawasps mate? :S

Ok so I bought the white sedan, Blown head gaskit, dented bonet, dented front quater panel, broken passanger mirror, back window does not work, blows lots of smoke, cracked dash, boot does not close properly, faded paint work, surface rust in a few spots and a funny water sound under dash when going up hills. Just your regular Old Shitter i guess. I bought it for $250 Oh I forgot to mention the cracked headlight, parkers, windscreen and faded tail lights ;) Double edit: And all hubcaps are cracked all around and tires are on the unroadworthy side Heres a few pics of it from the trading post, looks ok from a distance...

Crazy ass idea in progress right now.. I just hunted around and found a cheap White Ae82 sedan for $300. (looking at it at 7pm tonight) Its got a blown head gaskit but still starts and drives fine. Body and interior are very clean (So he says) So anyway the idea is to buy it as is. Buy the Second Seca with good motor (hopfully) and transplant it in the white seden and sell it with 12months reg and RWC for hopfully $2,200, chuck the blown motor in the rolling shell and sell as scrap metal.. the 4age will then go in the new seca and all should be good. sorry if it sounds confusing ;)

Yeah, I guess it has been a long read to get to this but I don't want to think of it as a waste. :lolcry: I learned a few things and I know alot more about corollas now. I know how to fix a dent or change the brakes or gearbox or even a engine. I want to get another corolla think of it as the same car just Take 2 of the old one. My plan is to buy a half decent one, Get the RWC test and fix all the things with all the old parts like spare indicators, disk brakes, cracks in the dash or whatever. Then once its on the road I'll do one thing at a time, Fit the AE92 brakes, roll the gaurds properly and fit the mags, change over the exhaust, install the extractors, Fit the 2din screen, install the CSX interior, fit the 4age along with the new exedy clutch. If I just do one thing at a time I think i'll be OK. I just kinda stuffed up with doing everything at once. By me buying a new corolla i feel like all I am doing is jumping to the next stage without having to do all the work. Who knows, i might get inspired and fix it up still, if i have a full complete one infront of me i could just copy it and fit out the car again.. ;) One Last thing, I now can really admire the work people have gone to with restoring a car now. It takes a heck load of Time, Money, Dedication and Patience to get a car like new again.

Ok, good news and bad news. Good news is I'm still going ahead with the 4age engine conversion, bad news is its not going back in the Brown seca anymore. I decided today thats its gone too far and i don't think i can remember how it all goes back together. I am going to buy another seca and drop all the goodies into it. I am on the hunt for a seca from today.. if its unroadworthty then i'll just chuck any bits into it from the old seca. I just want to see a complete seca in my driveway. I know i said this before about 6 months ago but I really can't be stuffed painting it and going through all that stuff. I will get the rolla on the road but unfortanatly this old brown girl wont be seeing the road again. Long story short, I bitten off more than I can chew

I think I read somewhere that a normal engine will suck in about 20-23cubic meters of air per minute? 250cf is not even close which equals about 6.8m3
-
Thats wicked Teddy, So much time and effort gone into that.. glad to see it arrived in one piece :y:
-
Nice score for $950, you should have alot of fun with that.. Damm I wish I found one for under 1k like that.
-
Lol!! Yeah i know.. I been pretty slack and thats a understatment. :S Yeah, that would be awesome, cheers man! :( I been flat out with work and not much time for anything else, also got a few small side projects going on and once they are done i'll be back into the rolla :o

Half way on page 6, Found it... :S 3 Weeks ago: I cleared a big area at my house in Rowville, lay down 1 m3 of crushed rock and finally got my corolla home, Yay! I got a tow bar for the Ford, hired a car trailer from the service station and towed it to my place. The brakes didn't work very well on the trailer so when i got to the bottom of Mount Dandenong my brakes on the ford were smoking like crazy.. :( Last Week: Put the 4age engine in the boot and got it home Last Night: Got the air compressor home and the spray guns and all the paint.. :o Hopefully now that its home I can get some more work done on it.

If you need any help just sing out, I'm slowly moving all my tools from the mountains to my house so soon i will be able to work on rollas at home. :P
