  1. yeh that kit looks the goods but as i am looking at selling the car and i need to drive it everyday ill probably look at the elec dizzy and see how its locked first and then maybe tryswaping over back to points dizzy, re-do the timing, valve clearences etc and start from scratch so to say. i think the hardest part is doing all this with the sort of cam thats in it as 1.don't know what brand and type it is and 2 . its as lumpy as all shit..... cheers chris
  2. hey guys, yeh i tried looking at the carby as i already rebuilt it when i first put the engine in at christmas and it has done it since the engine was installed by now I'm driving everyday it starting to shit me.... well for the vacuum leaks i only have the normal vacuum advance line off the carby blocked and there arnt any other lines running to or from the carby, also checked the mani gasket for leaks, line from the booster has no leaks also... and since when i changed it to the points dizzy and i got it to idle at about 800-1000rpm so this is what has led me to pointing at the dizzy for dramas.. slo-030 I'm not sure how its locked as i havnt had the top off it as i don't know how top get it off so i don't want to stuff it up.... any help with this would be helpfull though...
  3. hey guys, i am currently running a locked 5k electronic dizzy with internal ignitor on my heavly worked 5k. now the problem i have is with the cam i have in it(unknown specs but very lumpy) and the fact that the dizzy is locked and has either no or full advance(diaphram?? has also been removed from dizzy body so can't just hook vacumm hose back up) it either dosnt want to idle at all or idles to high at about 1800 rpm :y: . now i have thought that to to help fix this id throw a points dizzy back in(standard 4k-c jobby), i did that it idled better but the electronic coil didnt like the points didnt last too long. now this begs the question: can you swap all the electronic components from the locked 5k dizzy over with the points set-up so that i can get the vacuum advance back but still retain the elctronic ignition?? :y: or would just be easier getting a new set of points and coil? if so what brand what be best? and just selling the locked 5k dizzy to someone for a turbo setup?? any help is much appricciated guys just getting sick of always having to play with the accelerator to keep it idling cheers chris
  4. i should be in for this one hopefully.. the wagon needs a nice cruise...
  5. hey yeh mines has a fairly heavily worked 5k in it.. i had to get it engineered for insurance in nsw but you would have to check in vic... easy change over ignition changed to electric, upgraded master cylinder to pajero master(look in search for more on this) but yeh all in al change over was easy...
  6. nice little pano you got there... i have a 36 wagon and yeh as others have been saying don't lose interest in it, i saved mine from a crusher for certain and in 12 months turn the car around from a shitter full of mud and rust to what is now..and too get it for free and have the old man wanting to help you is really good to hear good luck with it and ill throw some pics for motorvation...when i first got ithow it looks after some time effort and money
  7. i only had to lip the guards front and rear as i didnt go to low... the rear would be fine going lower but the front would near to be "pumped out" for them to fit really good.. weight wise they are pretty light and yeh mine are the 002's but got mine a little cheaper then 800 for the set plus tyres were really cheap as well but not shitty ones either.. cheers chris
