If you see one of these come up for sale, please tell me ASAP Miss Bucket more and more each day. Loving the novelty shots. Should definitely take this thing to car club events and show it off Would be keen to hear the exhaust, the little dumpy tip looks so cute yet as if it was meant to be there.

Not even kidding I'll give you GOOD money for the '92 Love everything you do with cars. Such detail, patience and time spent making sure every little piece is as it should have been back on the production line. Would you ever consider modifying a car or are you too much a purist to want to get into that sort of thing?

Can't go down the manual path as I only have auto license and really cbf having to f around and get a manual one. I'd just grab a tailgate from a CS and put it on Back to the VT. Panel spraying was delayed slightly, should be Tuesday. Finally got to get under and check out the entire undercarriage, seems quite good if you ask me. Missus and I decided we're taking her 04 Ascent to Sydney rather than the Commodore in January. Means I'll be selling when I find the right Corolla for me
-
Yeah I'm definitely chasing a CSi, however I prefer the tailgate without the trim insert on the back, personal taste I guess. I want EFI so I can go crazy with a full exhaust system, extractors, highflow cat, hotdog etc and make it purr. If you see one let me know!

Decided completely against taking out a loan now for a car. It's a nice thought and it IS do-able, I just don't think it'd be worthwhile in the short term. Will be chasing next year an AE series Corolla, either a hatch like my old one or maybe a 102 sedan.... Figure I can pay cash, sell the VT and recoup the cost.

With luck i'll have the new panels back from the painters tomorrow and on the car, exactly one week after the accident Got everything done for a damn good price too, so fairly chuffed Been driving the missus Ascent, love it to bits. So zippy and fun to throw around corners at road speed and it just hangs on VT will resume daily duties when panels are back on and Saturday morning will go in for a wheel alignment, then she'll be all smiles again and it'll be time to keep on keepin' on. Have rather enjoyed using my girlfriend's car, and the fuel consumption is awesome! 500kms to a tank, less than $60 from empty to full. Happy to fill up instead of the VT Need to invest in some seat covers over the weekend...
-
Got a massive payrise today, so the VT should be fixed tomorrow, along with a wheel alignment and new front brakes before the end of next week. Then off to source some little bits and pieces (seat covers etc) to make the interior neater. Gave the gearbox a once over, have a feeling it's going to thank me.

Alright.. Saw a AE112R Levin hatch today for 8g.. Auto, front power windows, black, sports interior, alloys, looks schmick.. Thinking of selling Andy early next year (after trip to Sydney) and purchasing one of these badboys. I know I like Commodores and all, but for a lot better economy and much more fun driving (not to mention the fact they love high rpm) it'd be a good option that'd save me money long term. I'd love one in black, then probably put it on some nice 17's and get a full custom exhaust system made up (extractors, cat, res, single muffler, 2" pipe). Then just a double DIN headunit and just drive it and polish it. Better?

Yeah I'm fine mate. Yanked the panels off today, havn't even moved the rad support or a few other bits and pieces that I thought would have taken a knock. Couldn't get a guard or front bar at the wreckers, so this weekend the car will sit out the back and i'll use the missus car. Found a place just in Bayswater that has what I need and for about $130 for the lot. WIN. Just gotta wait til Wednesday. Then I'll get those panels painted at a later stage (missus family friends are spray painters/panel beaters) So while Andy sits out the back, gave it new oil, adjusted throttle cable, tidied up a few bits and bobs and just keep staring at the chassis wondering how I didn't even leave a mark on it. Could have done so much worse. Sometimes you gotta have luck. Shock kinda sucks though, I dropped about 4 things today at the shops and I have to work tonight.. This'll be amusing.
-
Front end got bent up nicely tonight.. Some dickwad locked up under brakes and sent me into a spin around a round about into the turning poles(ones with stripy lines). Only at low speed, but enough to snap the front bar, put a nice dent in the front passenger quarter panel and destroy the numberplate. So she's sitting stationary for the night, will go to the wreckers in the morning and grab two new panels, put on and it'll be fine.. Bit shaken, but not stirred..

When you work at one of the top places in Melbourne and you are the only driver/manager, you know the time limit you have to get all the deliveries done, within our allocated time limit and stillbe able to do in-shop prep work. It pays pretty well on a busy night (I get an hourly, delivery fee plus all tips). Consistently hard on the car while I'm working, otherwise my driving is very relaxed.
-
Yeah I have a mate that's already got a set that have been enlarged, he's looking at 20's so I may get them cheap. If I don't get them I don't care. See delivering pizza I'm used to late braking etc and while this thing pulls up better than bucket used to, I tend to find I get brake fade towards the middle/end of the night and the rears are doing more than the fronts. Alright so brake upgrade is on the cards, if funds aren't quite there I'll just get new standard rotors and top quality pads. Booked in next week for the transmission to be serviced and diff to be looked over. Diff feels alright but i'd rather be safe than sorry on a car that's done so many kms. Next question - Future car.. Out of the two: VZ or VE? Either sedan or ute, same motor (alloytec) and same kind of equipment level (S pack ,Sv6 etc).
-
Unless I know of anyone in a VX S2 that writes it off anytime soon, i'll just live with the stock height. Was thinking of changing the look of the car a little. VE interceptors (16x7) suited to fit the VT with 225/55/r16's on it. Don't mind the look of ceptors, but I'm a little sceptical as to the aesthetic benefits. /f@$k I WISH I WAS BACK IN A COROLLA

Ahhk, I keep hearing so many differing points of view to lowering a VT.. Beginning to f@$k with my head.. I was thinking lows all round or even fe2 all round with a 2 point camber kit. I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap? (situation atm means I have to pay someone else to do stuff to my car). Some of us aren't earning more than say $300/$400 a week, so I can't really be splashing too much coin around.. In the end I just want to maintain this car and be able to sell it in the next 12 months at a decent price with the knowledge that i've looked after it. It's already got a catback system, so adding a high flow isn't worth it? exhaust bloke said it'll up the noise a bit and make her sound mean, but still nice at cruising speed and can quite easily get away with it from the cops as long as you aren't giving it curry. Said my current cat is in OK condition but not fantastic.. Definitely fixing that strut top asap, that and gearbox service and first two major things that are getting done in the next fortnight. Pfft you havn't played with it too much, just means you've loved it mate I love all cars, but I'd rather be back in my old AE92.. Saw it last week driving around, they have kept everything how I had it too must mean I have decent taste or something alright so Bendix ultimax pads for front, DBA slotted for front, then i'll be stopping much nicer..er I hate cars sometimes.. Purely because all I want to do is play with them..
-
Was thinking of new calipers too, there are some packages floating around for a reasonable price so I might see what a mate at bursons can do. Not worth it for the small amount of extra flow/noise with the cat? coolant and brake fluid are both like new. All of the above was looked at last service and mechanic was happy with it. Yeah I've heard that the distance becomes smaller due to the squat from lowering. Know of a guy who had an issue with one popping out when he had a 4point camber kit installed.. instead of replacing the cv, he just reverted to a 2 point kit.. Seeing the mechanic today while I take my girlfriend's car in for some work, will see what he says about a few things and get some quotes. On a positive note, economy is steady, engine doesn't feel like it's running out of puff and best of all I had a kid on his red P's offer me decent money for it. Not selling though :) for the next 12 months or so, then see where I'm at money wise and possibly go to a VE or VZ

Cheers guys. Got a list of things I want done to the car by christmas - Trans serviced - Engine tuned and serviced (perhaps even dyno tuned if funds allow) - Diff serviced - New fuel filter - Passenger side strut top mount bush to be replaced (can feel/hear it clunk occasionally) - MAYBE a high flow catalytic converter. Maybe. - New tires (driving to Sydney in January, want this car in tip top shape) - May even look into thicker slotted rotors and performance pads for the front. Anything else I should add to that list? I'm enjoying the absolute reliability of this car. It can handle anything. Wish I could lower it, but stupid Holden made it more expensive to do on the VT's with the crappily designed rear end... WHY DID YOU LEAVE THE TOE-LINK OUT HOLDEN?!?!?! Grr.. CBF paying for a camber kit on top of springs, was only looking to go lows if anything. Including a camber kit, close to $800 fitted.. Before you tell me to fit it myself, I don't have anywhere to do so...

Car decided it didn't like me today and cracked the shits. Alternator crapped itself. Thank you wreckers for the $40 one that's now installed and is in quite good condition. Drove my girlfriend's '04 Corolla Ascent around today. Faster than the VT by a fair margin. LOVE IT :D

Did plugs and leads recently. Plugs are gapped correctly and leads are beautiful. Oil change is due in about two weeks time. Taking mine and my girlfriend's cars in at the same time for some work, hopeful that my mechanic loves me enough to give me a nice price Saw a VZ SV6 today for sale for $13k.. Ahh the temptation...
-
Mine lacks a bit of response I'm finding, gunna tighten the throttle cable a little and have a tinker..
-
Scrapped the Berlina idea. Will buy a set of stocko skirts and paint them black. It'll look all purdy-like. f@$k I miss having a project car..
-
Cheers Trev, saves me some work! I'm just glad that a car with 330k on it can return solid fuel economy. Proof that my girlfriend's Dad looked after it. Ahk, well then I'll do it Saturday when I have a spare few hours to replace a few gaskets and do some serious cleaning! Decided I'm going to make it look like a berlina and throw some body-color skirts on it. Failing finding any, I'll get some stocko ones from the wreckers and give them a sand and a spray.
-
Tomorrow's job before work: Take cover off intake manifold and clean out the carbon build-up. Two cans of carby cleaner and might even use a little petrol on a paintbrush to help lift the grime. Doing some Googling and it seems that it's quite easy to do and improves economy and helps engine run more smooth. Fingers crossed it works (just need to go get a gasket and some decent quality gasket sealant, the copper based stuff, before I begin). Guess while the manifold cover is off as well I could give it a sand and polish Ahh cars.. Love 'em

Spoke to a mate and he's giving me his Kenwood sub and amp for BUGGER ALL, so pumped! The Jaycar gear isn't bad for how little I paid but the Kenwood gear is a fair bit more powerful. Happy with my economy this tank just gone (post filter change). 56L took me 450km, not going to complain to much about that, still had a hundred km left in her if I was gentle. Been told never to run these cars under a quarter tank as they apparently don't like it. I'm also pretty certain that my fuel gauge is inaccurate, just using the trip meter to know when to refill. What can I do to the interior to spice things up a little? Cheers for any feedback guys, will take some pics of the series 2 gear and LED setup and post them.
-
Don't worry about the tail lights, I put series 2 tail lights on and love the look. Chevy badges aren't happening.. Look cheap if you ask me. Was considering that modification to the intake. Might leave toying with the ECU to someone else though..

All good, just the washer bottle. Tiny split. All sorted now. It is a daily, but I'm 19 and like spending money on cars. I figure I can do enough to it to keep it interesting and not completely bog stock but retain the reliability. Next pad change I'll be looking at performance pads and maybe brembo rotors so she stops on a dime. Might go get the donk tuned soon, just to keep the economy within reason. Shocked me lately that no matter how I drive it's still returning the same figures, roughly 12.9L/100km which isn't bad for mostly scooting around. Put the series 2 lights on today, so much better! Got the clear flashers for the front guards, makes the look nice and neat, not a hacked together car. Also wired in some LED's into the footwells (favourite modification to do to any car, purely because I like shiny stuff). So much happier with the external look of the car. Next is to find some decent seat covers that don't look cheap.
