Sounds fun 8/ I have worlds most boring job. I walk around throwing shit around, sweeping, mopping and occasionally some actual "work" on cars, i am a student workin part time in a radiator/AC specialist. The work isnt too hard and its brilliant experience, a week after i learnt how to flush a engine and replace radiator tanks, the old mans radiator blew up, lucky!! pay is crap I'm probly on about $1-2k a year TOPS if i work HEAPS. Oh well gotta get into the automotive industry somehow.

don't the epa dudes usually check to see if there are foreign objects in your exhaust? BUT on the upside if you put foerign objects up there you'll be +5kw :sob:

hehehe bet you never let him live that one down lol that sounds different. i had the same problem on a quad except i'd managed to smash the front right corner in when i misjudged a corner past a seriously rocky embankment and somehow still managed to steer the thing the 4km back. OPPY LOCK MUCH?? was full oppy lock to steer straight haha so fun, NOT! then went past the same corner on a dirtbike and nearly launched into orbit. my brother ended up smashing his bike to pieces on the same one about a month later LOL

Mad little car u got there but i didnt think with those mats it would pass rego? tried that and the mechanic said no so i got some carpet ordered in, put in then she passed lol.. pain in the arse. But yeah I'm loving this car it's so nice and pure :sob:

yeah well sitting stationary probly 5 mins is most i'd leave it, or just tickle it occasionally. I'm also thinking about changing the diff to see what effects that will have to economy, not sure what will be a good ratio for take-off/econ though. haha if worse comes to worse ill pull the seats out of the rear and do some lightweight modding to get that extra few km's :sob:

neutral for a short amount of time IS better, but probly about 3-5 mins is all you would have to leave it like that for, cause u'd be going down one mother of a hill to go neutral for more than 5 minutes lol. leaving it too long causes the petrol to start being eaten away though if your a keen fuel saver you will set the idle to a speed that will hold well and not be too low that it feels as its gunna cut out, as we found experimenting. Keep tyring new things for saving fuel and post up here what you find out. i need to get slightly better mileage though it is heaps better than dad bommadore. 3800 with around 15L/100km is pathetic, though that is being driven in little d (3rd) all the time and being put through its paces a fair bit.

tune it to perfection lol. do what my brother does, neutral down hills, top gear as soon as he can and he's set up his car to run alot more low down torque and he gets almost 1000km out of 55L. it's pretty damn good. he's laughing all the way to the bank the bugger. my car doesn't have enough power to set it up like that lol. But i guess we could get off our fat-lazy-arses (me especially, I'm 5' 4 and 85kgs) and public transport it or ride a bike perhaps. oh well for the time being we can just pressure the government to get rid of the ridiculous 37.5c/l tax on the fuel on top of the 12.5c/l tax it already had before little johnny bastard howard came into office. wipe half that whole tax and were paying just on $1 a litre again :sob:

How light are you aiming for this car to be? not too light i hope cause ive seen these bloody things roll when their stripped barer than a bum on a noodie beach. Keep it up though, would love to see this thing racing around :sob:

May i just say ive just read all 55 pages in one hit and it has inspired me no end! i LOVE this Ke70 and believe once you have done the finishing touches it will be the best corolla in Australia! It would be insane to take this for a little road test and have a nice gentle cruise. OMG I'm so excited about this car LOL i love it!!!! hahaha I'm jealous so bad! if i can make my Ke38 even 1/10th as clean, well done, and utterly perfect then i will be stoked. i know but i want to see a unmodified engine-gearbox sitting in a corolla. Maybe even a 427, the new 7L monstrosity in the latest HSV prototype coupe 60. IF it was to fit in the engine bay and go, then it would be so good. though only to muck around with, can't beat a 1.3L hehehehehe GO TOYOTA!!! Oh yeah my dad also wants to put a 3800 into a ke55 THEN put a supercharger on it. he has no brains but some serious balls

I'm getting 510km out of 45ltr of fuel in a ke38, thats pretty good with a huge toolbox and about 150kgs of tools in the back. thats with using the right foot pretty hard, too. I'm using lead additive but I'm not sure if i need too?

messy, but IF you can alter the engine mounts so it sits slightly more forward then its not too bad, just have to use a bit of care on it. i wanna see someone put a alloytec into a corolla and see how that goes, would be interesting seeing a 190kw engine pulling a car under 1000kgs around :hmm: :hmm: :cool:
