Ok car is ready and have half packed car with tools and spare parts. Currently making a list of what still is left to sort. So if wanting to travel in a group what are the details? Day leaving? time leaving? location leaving? as we have a back up plan if nothing is made up before friday. Geez they are tight arses, it is unfare that you bare some jelously lexxi, some people need to sit back and reflect on how they treat their children sometimes. I was never given anything over $50 a year in birthday presents, but mum and dad did pay for clothes and food until i was 16. They once gave me 300 bucks becuase they payed for my brother to go on a school camping trip. If i wanted money i went on the dole and did odd jobs around the places until i managed to secure a apprenticeship at 18, then everything was great from there. Never had a loan from parents for houses or cars but i do live in SA so most of my cars have cost me btween 100-3000 at any time and houses were 180-220k in my area when i bought. Some parents can go overboard with buying cars ect for their kids, but think about this when some parents were young they had nothing and living condtions were bad and they just want to give their kids the security they never had.

Couldnt agree more. NO education in schools yet and the same thing in adelaide in the late 90's we had a big carpark to pose in and got closed to make the hi rise appartments at glenelg jap cars became more on the scene and took it to the streets just having mallala is a joke.

Anything can be achieveable at an engineering shop and some funds available, but id say if you already have an AE71 just get a T50 box from another AE71 it will be cheaper. Ask a few AE71 drivers in your local area or even the local toyota wreckers they might be more helpful if all you want to do is get your car going again.

Great topic, in my opinion the government is using this as knee jerk reaction in some states (not long before we all are copping it). In the short term its shocking but still no lives are saved. cheaper to crush a hoons car than make young drivers that cause accidents that lead to death learn how to handle a 1200kg hunk of steel traveling at over 60km/h, which is at the end of the day is a lethal weapon in untrained hands. Driving a car and being handed a license should be a lesson at school. Correct me if you think I'm wrong but we all can get a license pretty easy and drive anything powerful money alowing so do the math a 17 year old behind the wheel of 500hp 2000kg car and mates in the back telling him hes a poofter for not trying to drift or do burnouts in heavy traffic. Thats where it all starts and the ones that survive end up modding cars and grab the attention of the police. mind you there are those of us as previously stated that mod our cars and don't act like dicks shouldnt have a problem.
