Yeh i know what you guys mean love the car doesnt really owe me anything but a few months of bodywork. ok update as stated with pics. I didnt get time to do much today due to the installation of a head unit and speakers into the missus seca. Roof, carpet and seat covers. Carpet isnt finished yet i just layed it in there for test fir needs a little trimming and some underfealt. The brown painted sections for the front seat bolt points will be painted satin black and the factory rear 1/4 and lower seat base sections re-vinyled. Now that the missus car is out the way ill be able to concentrate more next weekend. Rear parcel shelf and dash covering have yet to be done.

Not for sale atm cheers. Today i bought some new car carpet in bulk and spent the night cutting the sections the same as the originals. If i don't mind saying it looks a million bux :no2: Bought some more sand paper and some primer. Ill have some pics up tomorrow of the progress of interior, body work and maybe even the overheating situation.

made me want to watch 2 times

What gets me is that these idiots stole the car and didnt strip it, just destroying it instead. No offense to the ower but you would think during the current economic climte a theif would strip and sell off parts ? The other two 70's that were stolen still havent poped up.
-
that is heart breaking I'm sure just by looking at the few photos this car is worth over 20 grand and countless man hours maybe we should all start looking into security systems that work
-
Thank god this is getting fixed good work.

Does this mean you would like rollaclub to be QLD access only ? A irc channel has worked before, this would free up all the offtopic if that is a considerable option
-
in the last 2 months 2-3 corollas (some with 4age's) have been stolen of the KE70 variety and turbo 4age celica. sounds to me like somone reads all the toyota forums in the sa sections ect and they have a shopping list.

a vehicle can be unregistered upto 7 years before its required to go over regency unless if was defected, economic write off and these laws have drastically changed in the last 2 years alsowritten. i bought my ke25 off the front lawn of a guy in galwer been parked for 5 years no rego papers. just filled out a change of registration form and didnt even need his signature just his name and address hope this helps if you wanted options

Absolutely spot on Raven I'm prepared to show a few members how to replace a cylinder head and how to rub back some panels in a learning situation as I'm currently doing this to the KE25. Also if your not fussed about offtopic leave the area the way it is or if you don't like offtopic remove the section.

Well its been a long time since i did an update been very busy. Ive taken the AE71 off the road to finish off a few things and in the mean time ive decided to pull the KE25 out of the weeds and bring her back to life. So far ive found a split in a hose leaking very badly but was worse than i had expected. Ive replaced the waterpump, thermostat, hoses, upper thermostat housing and suspect a coroded head. I had another reconditioned head but sold it not thinking i was going to have to use it, have to wait and see what happens i may pull it apart next weekend. Other things, ive replaced the fuel hoses and one battery clamp. I'm going to rub the cars 5 year old paint back and give it another paint job. Some pics.

no worries everytime i used the search fuction as directed by others it never worked so didnt see it being a drama as i don't think the search fuction works. with the amount of garbage floating around in the tech sections i didnt think they would get deleted ? assuming i don't know what I'm talking about in relation to castor/camber/and toe settings your right i should ask the guys that do it everyday like bobjane the aligner at work has only spec for ke30 as we mostly work on 1994 and up stuff. and for some reason its the only spec for corolla going back from 1994.

yeh sounds like a oil burning issue could try and get the stem seals done again on number 4 to make sure. But also have your mechainc you trust to try and diagnose further. an engine you cannot buy brand new from the factory for these models anymore but rather a reconditioned long motor. The price may hurt the hip pocket ill ask our supplier on cost change over engine. may want to ask you mechanic for a cost from his supplier to compare. getting somone to fit it would be very expensive at the dealer id recomend a quote from a local mechanic to fit price should include from the mechainc oil, coolant, manifold and associated gaskets, sealant ect if its manual the clutch may need doing as it will be swaped over from engine to engine and flywheel machine. it can all be done cheap or expensive cost may determine weather or not its worth it. just a guide to what i went through doing a 2nd hand motor myself with all new gaskets and no cluch or flywheel repair 500 for engine 2nd hand 300 in gaskets seals and timing belt. 40 for oil, 10 oil filter, 30 for coolant.15 for new fuel filter 30 for air filter 15 new fan belt. 2 weeks later replaced change over 2nd hand radiator 40 dollars all up for me 980 without paying for labour as i did it myself seems like alot but when all the little costs are added up there is where it stands.

thanks you your input, and your specs at time of your wheelalingment, sorry i made you give agressive response in the 1st section of your post but i did say just incase no one reads either of the sections but this vehicle does pretty much cover all 3 sections don't see any harm done? like all other posted threads most guys don't answer to these as they don't know the real specs. my wheel aligner at work has only the spec for KE30.
-
as title states I'm sure i saw it on AE86DC but now gone but i don't want aggressive drift spec's anyway just need toe, camber, caster cheers

how many km has the engine done before it went pop ? id be looking at valve stem seals not sealing correctly after such a repair and yes the mechanic will probably try and stiff you for more money. or depending on the amount of km the engine has traveled a small head shave could bump the compression up enough to blow compression past worn glazed bores and rings to cause oil consumption. run engine until at correct operating temp and then let sit for 5 minutes check oil level and make sure it is perfect on the dipstick drive car for 1000km almost exactly and recheck the oil level if low refill gradually until perfect once again but the amount of oil put back into the engine will need to be measured to diagnose the amount of oil consumption you may be having. this will tell you only a few things for starters like yes the engine is using oil. a compression test and inspection of the spark plugs to see if the are being fouled by oil also will give indications. (just a little bit of information) at work we don't usally fix cylinder heads due to the fact 90% of the time the customer comes back with oil burning issues. We just get a whole engine done in one hit new not 2nd hand. as horrible as this may sound doing 1/2 repairs on the cheap somtimes ends up making things worse or causeing another problem. on another note my 1984 4AC died 20,000km ago i got a 2nd motor from the wreckers after compression testingit was ok, it burns some oil but now fixed by thicker oil and as stated its been going strong for 20,000km not a problem i guess so far I'm lucky. disclaimer before i get flamed by a super mechanical genious, I'm just offering some friendly advice can't really diagnose anything unless the person offering the advice personally gets a change to work on the mentioned problem in person.

Hey sportivo_65 given these guys a call to check rough price on repair ? Do you know of anyone else with a decent aftermarket programable ECU setup and their experiences worth buying ?
