I was given a KE30 which I have recently got running and brought back to my garage. I took it for a little putter (well a paddock bash :)) and was really impressed with how it felt to drive. I still have a lot of work to go to get it up to road worthy, so all of the following discussion is either really long sighted, or just dreaming.. I already own a fairly worked GT-R and a daily gts-t this car is either going to be restored to stock, parted, or track. I'm wondering what people think of taking a KE30 and dropping corona running gear in, or supra, or any other combination of toyota cars, a 4age or similar, and a 5 speed, perhaps a roll cage. What has been done? Were the results great? Would you do it all again? How much could you budget for?

Just want to add my 2 cents that lightening a cast flywheel is a pretty bad idea. At the very least run a scattershield. I have seen numerous aftermaths of doing this, none pretty. Most shops I have talked to wont do it anymore. The threat is real and the possibility of permanent human injury is very real.

Couldn't believe it after a bit of tidying up, filling the points a little, spraying some WD40 into the pistons, pouring some 20-50w in, hand turning it a few times, and a big jump start... off she went merry as anything . can't wait to spend some time with this car. A bit different to my skyline :S.

I have an old KE30 sitting in a paddock that i'm hoping to get running today. It's been off the road for 2 years. Hopefully (touch wood) a bit of love and she'll at least go. I'm wondering what oil would be recommended? Also I suspect the points are rooted, are these off the shelf items? Is there anything else worth touching before I start it up?

Hmmm my corolla is still sitting on our farm :dance: I'd love to come cruising, can I bring my GTR or silvia? :hmm: coincidently Nissan Silvia's Victoria group is planning a cruise early May.

yes it's a GTR in a 4 door skin essentially. guards, seats, engine, gearbox, steering wheel, etc etc etc all GTR bits, there are more GTR bits than original bits :y:

Sarumatix. Yes I recognized your avatar |blink|. The skyline is a GTS-4, but with pretty much everything swapped for GTR goodies (only thing that is GTS-4 is the tailshaft).

Hi guys, just thought i'd introduce myself. I'm a relatively long time member of NS.com and Sau.com. I've got an R32 4-door with GTR running gear and a silvia, but was recently given a KE30 rolla from a mate. I'm really keen to start fixing it up to road worthy status in the near future.. with some plans in the long distant future for more. I'm sick of much of the culture which seems to have emerged in nissan circles of late and am largely interested in fiddling with cars and enjoying them on the track. I've noticed a few good threads here with interesting discussion so I thought i'd frequent a little bit and see how things roll here.
