  1. If you can use a multimeter check it all yourself, its a 90% probability that just the brushes are worn out. You can replace them yourself for about $20 with a soldering iron. Do a few little other checks too like make sure there isnt voltage drop on the battery wire and check the earthing of it. It could save you some $$ pain.
  2. Lifted this of a 4x4 site. Its kind of relavant to corollas in a hilarious yet sad kind of way, it just had to be shared around. :| http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread....3645&page=1
  3. 8000rpms. Has webers, cam and a little over 10 to 1 compression. Will eventually go into my rally car once i run it in in the street keto.
  4. It is too, my bad.  Cheers.
  5. Yeh i know about the decompression bit, that part is sorted. I need to know about the lifters because the ones ive pulled out are worn on the bases and i don't know what the previous guy has put in there regarding lifter-rod-rocker combination. Its got a 3k bigport head with double springs so the revs its going to be doing will probably be too hard on hydraulic lifters, best be safe now while ive got the motor apart. Do you know where i can get the 5k solid lifters from? Cheers.
  6. Hey guys, If your running a 3k head on a 5k is it safe enough to assume that you can run 4k lifters with 4k pushrods and 4k rocker gear? Cheers!
  7. A quick photo of the before and after honage, will continue the build once i can get the lifters refaced, they seem to be out of another motor and put on a new cam, but thank god the cam isnt showing signs of wear. More to come later.
  8. I'm in, i know both the areas quite well. :P
  9. If i remember to take the camera down to the garage this time, i will. :D 6cc dish would be very close to the mark.
  10. 3k bigport head, double valve springs, very shallow dished ACL pistons, aftermarket cam, double row timing chain, ACL bearings, solid lifters. Bores are pretty glazed up, everything else measures up good. Head and motor are clean as a preachers sheets on the inside. Hopefuly just a hone and some new rings and it will be going hard. :D
  11. I havent split the motor up just yet, but having gone through some of the extra parts that came with the motor there is a 5k head, dished pistons, a factory cam and distributor. So I'm guessing those parts have been replaced by the 3k head, flat top or "less dished" pistons, electronic dizzy (motor has it fitted) and an aftermarket cam of some description. Motor comes apart this weekend for rebuild, I keep you guys posted. (ps, the motor came with twin 40dcoe's and manifold as well. :P )
  12. I picked up a 5k on the weekend that has the numbers cast 24010-211, which isnt on the FAQ but seem to be close to the 3k bigport head. It doesnt have the protrusions from 1 and 4 plug holes either. Does anyone know what that casting means? For the moment ill just assume its a 3k bigport head. I will be pulling the motor down next week anyway because it has a bit of blowby and could do with a build anyway by the sound of it. Ill keep you all posted on what I find, but in the meantime does anyone know FOR CERTAIN what the numbers mean? Thanks guys!
  13. Stock KE70 bought for $500, also a rally ke70 thats half finished. Considering putting the rally gear into the shitter whilst i finish of the rally car. Bilstein shocks, kings, worked 5k, locked 4.3 ratio diff. :D Mostly cruise around the Gorge or Old Pac, also long rally runs through the watagans or back of wisemans ferry. Plently of fun roads to be had.
  14. I think pointing guns at people far outweighs "hooning" on dirt roads in the polices eyes. Makes responsible gun owners look like rednecks. Report it or your doing the world a disservice.
